Good Point.

I just did a quick Google/Youtube seach on that doctor "Dr. Marc Siegel" It seams that every subject he talks about he hate and try to tell you not to do it. I think he's getting paid to talk negatively about any subjects.

I just looked him up too. The guy is laughable, to say the least. You guys should go to doctorseigel.com, and look at his "about me" page. Here's the highlights...

"Dr. Siegel is the author of False Alarm; the Truth About the Epidemic of Fear, and Bird Flu: Everything You Need to Know About the Next Pandemic"

See? Even his own books contradict each other.

"Dr. Siegel is also a columnist for the LA Times; his bi-weekly column The Unreal World examines TV and movies for medical accuracy."

Ooooh, some life-saving work there, Doc!

So, yeah. Another establishment media leg-humping pseudo-celebrity/doctor, paid to speak on behalf of big pharma. Glaxosmithkline probably bought his dumb ... a Lexus for stating his desire to see "prescription only" e-cigs.

But, he must be an expert. He's on TV, right?

Is it true that they are banned in Australia and Hong Kong:confused:
Notice how he didn't say WHY they were banned in Hong Kong though.

(To paraphrase the press release: Chinese gov't said they were banning ecigs because they were losing roughly 1/3 of their analog sales and needed people to go back to smoking to help boost the economy!)

Would it be to much to ask to get an honest debate with some reasonably knowledgeable e-cigarette/PV advocate, and someone else who is also knowledgeable arguing against it? Give them time to portray both sides of the argument completely, but I'm pretty sure that will never happen, we know and they know who's arguments would make more sense.

Most of us would agree that if there is a e-cig ban we can continue to vape and get supplies fairly easily. Its not us that will be the problem this would seriously kill off most newcomers to the product, smokers would never quit, they hear e-cigs are unsafe, they're illegal, they won't know where to get em or have any inclination to as they are "unsafe" and they will continue to smoke regular cigarettes which are proven to eventually kill them. Its not us that will suffer from a ban, in my eyes if the fda unjustly ban a product that will probably save many lives just because they won't do the research on it, its about the same as murder, this kinda thing bugs me.

I used to really like Fox news , but in the last 3 years got fed up with all the networks. They think we are mushroom they keep people in the dark and feed them Bull stuff.. Now , I only listen to the radio, and read books, it would be better if people would get back to reading books again, it exercises your mind.

Also, I spend lots of time on the forum:cool:

You will get all the facts, both sides of the arguement so you can make an unbiased decision, right here on the net.
TV news will only ever give you one side of the arguement. Fox is the worst there is for exclusively rolling out the right wing side of the arguement. I wouldn't even let my pet guinea pig be influenced by their slanted reporting.

I'm not saying the FDA is blameless, because it is obvious that they're not. Their half-@$$'d study back at the beginning of this year seems to show they are looking for a reason to get these off the market.

But keep in mind that they are not responsible for doing the long-term, deep research on it. The companies that produce e-cigs are. The FDA's role is to examine that research and make determinations on how and where they can be sold, and the kinds of disclaimers or warnings that must be displayed on the packaging. But that can't be done until the research exists.

The current fear of a ban is based on the fact that there are no legitimate long-term studies on these things. And until there are, and that's up to the manufacturers, we'll be at risk for a ban.

somewhere out there......
that is funny.... he kept saying not sold over the counter..........that proves it right there... it is all about money....... and no the UK is not looking into it.... it obvious they already have and they welcome the use of them because unlike the US over there they actually want people to quit smoking.

Actually if you want any news nowadays, Fox is where you need to go to get it unless you like listening to talking heads promoting one-world government. Try the red pill, you might like it.

Did you notice that Fox invited the marketer of the smokingeverywhere product to appear but they were 'afraid' to come on the show????? - WTF?? they're in the middle of a fight-for-their-life lawsuit with the FDA, Fox gives them a chance to come on and sway public opinion against the FDA days prior to Judge Leon ruling, and they don't even take advantage of it? Another golden opportunity lost = Pathetic in my book.

No.... actually that is brilliant. This is in front of a judge. At this point, public opinion or perception shouldn't be relevant (and it isn't). And any good lawyer will tell you that when your position is being evaluated in court, you stay the hell away from the press.
