I may have began my journey in Egypt..........It is debated whether writing systems were developed completely independently in Egypt around 3200 BCE and in China around 1200 BCE, or whether the appearance of writing in either or both places was due to cultural diffusion.
I may be used interchangeably.............I equals the number 1 in Roman numerals.

could be a UNIT.................The lowest positive whole number; one.
when I am small I look different than when I am big?..........Big I looks different than small i.
