Hey redgirl,
CONGRATULATIONS!!! I know I don't know you well but I am happy for you and hope all goes well. No mother knows everything and really never does but thats the adventurous part of it. Everyday is different and always holds so many wonderful memories with children. Congratulations again :)

Oh my CONGRADULATIONS!!!! You will never feel like the moment your child is born and you hold them in your arms for the first time and you will never forget it either.I had the first of my seven when I was 17 and I've had 3 natural births and 4 c-sections (the first section was a 27 week premie who will be 30 this year) so don't hesitate to ask anything!!! Get on the vitamins and folic acid asap and as far as the queesys your first handy hint.....keep plain saltine crackers close at hand to nibble on when needed;rest and elevate your feet whenever you get the chance.(((HUGS))) for you and your hubby. I feel like I'm gonna be a grama again.Shucks Ima startin' to get a little teary. God has blessed you in his most precious way ......Gramakittycat

Congrats hun! I would like to say that you should taper the nic down to nothing if that's what you want. Going from 36 to zero is a pretty big shock to the system, so try to step down instead. Take it down a notch every few days, give yourself time to get to zero. There are worse things than vaping while preggers!

Take care of yourself, and if you need breastfeeding advice-I'm your woman! I have 3 kids and have 5 years of breastfeeding under my belt! :)

You guys are awesome! grama, you definitely have some experience there! lilith, I have no idea about breast feeding, but I know I probably can't do it for too long because I will have to go back to work. I really wish I could be a stay at home mom, though!

Yep, gotta go out today and get some vitamins. I have the flu really bad, which I hope doesn't effect the baby in any way.

Oh yeah, anyone know what kind of pain meds I can take? I get headaches quite a bit and I read you can take acetaminophin, but I'm not sure on others.

Bonnie - you are awesome! They've scheduled my first appt. for Feb 8th, so hopefully all will go well, then.

Pretty much tylenol is it friend there are no others that I am aware of that are safe in the first trimester.... but then I do not know everything.

So happy for you, babies aren't always planned but can be wonderful surprises. I have 4 daughters and they are all different and hold their own special places in my heart. Be sure to get those vitamins and some crackers, if your morning sickness gets too bad get yourself to the doctor because you don't want to get dehydrated. Just enjoy the ride, it all happens so fast. :)

Ditto the swing! A. MUST. Have.

And you can work and BF. If you think you might want to invest in a good breastpump. It'll pay for itself (you'll know what I mean when you price formula!) I nursed and pumped for 11 months. The hardest thing was finding somewhere to pump at work since I was too stupid to ask

What a wonderful blessing ! So very happy for you and hubby !

I know you're going to be the best mommy...you'll be one of the "kool' moms...yay.

I'm with lillith..might want to taper down on the nic instead of suddenly zero....might make you sicker honey.

Wishing you all the best.

Please take care of yourself !

You can pump breastmilk if desired. Many working mom's breastfeed. Not only will it save you money, it's the best food for baby. It comes in the perfect package, is always warm, highly portable, ready at all times of the day or night.:) It can help you lose weight after birth, delay the return of monthly cycles, and it will reduce your breast cancer risk too! Just some food for thought. I loved nursing, it actually helped me get enough sleep. I could pop baby on, and fall back to sleep. lol I'm a bear without enough sleep!

Boppy pillows are awesome. Bassinets are great too, I used mine as a portable bed. My youngest actually never slept in a crib, she hated it. Onesies are awesome, I agree. Babies require astonishingly little. Swings are great, I do agree. I loved those bathtub slings too, they make bathing so easy. Amazon.com: Summer Infant Fold N' Store Tub Time Bath Sling: Baby I also liked my Maya Wrap as I had clingy babies, and it made outings a breeze! Amazon.com: MAYA WRAP Lightly Padded Baby Ring Sling Carrier (MEDIUM - BRIGHT STRIPE): Baby

Again, congrats! Just shout if you need anything. :D

I would have posted sooner Brandi, but as lame as it sounds I couldn't think of the words to express how happy I am for you. I love baby's, I hope you stick around and post belly pics and stuff. Let us be part of this Journey, it's so awesome!
