Cool! Do you still have the litter thing and was it very durable?

Yeah, I don't know how I would deal with twins! I guess you can have a test for downs syndrome at your beginning prenatal visits. Has anyone opted to do that? I think that I might. Don't know for sure yet.

I have been going for days without vaping. Seems like every flavor now is making me nauseous. All the zero nic I have: the chocolate lynlee sent me, TV peppermint, VS Tampa, is all making me ill. Don't know if anyone would be able to suggest a flavor that is non-nauseating to a pregnant woman!:)

I am doing fine without it, except I am eating a lot, which I probably shouldn't be:(

I have been having the same problem with vaping. nothing "tastes" good :( I keep trying to puff on it, then get mad and toss it somewhere out of sight for a while. MAD at it LOL. good luck at your OB appt. I have an U/S tomorrow. excited is an understatement! And as far as the tests go, it doesn't hurt anything to have them done, but I figure that I am gonna love my baby no matter what, so why fret for months about what may or may not show up on the test? My sis n law had some testing done that showed her baby would probably be born with cystic fibrosis (sp)... which he wasn't. but she was a ball of nerves and didn't get to really enjoy her pregnancy :(

Our litter robot has been through rigorous use and abuse in our home for over three years and still works great

We currently have three cats and have fosted many others over the years. It's held up very well. Heather, my housemate, takes it outside and sprays it down with the garden hose once a month, but I don't think you even have to do that.

We built a rolling stand for the litter robot, with an rectangle pan under the front drawer, that normally holds the poop. We, then cut a hole in the bottom of the drawer and the poop magically falls into a larger pan in the base of the robot. We joked that we were going to install a hepa air filter in the side of the base:)

Honestly, with the base that we made, if we didn't have to put fresh litter in the box, we could go over two weeks without "tending" to the box. As it is, we just press the button and the hole on top lines up, so we pour the fresh litter in the top once a day. We do this when we check the level on the all-day-kitty-buffet.

Red - with ds#1 & ds#2 we opted to have the basic AFT (early second tri-mester - not first) because our hospital did not have a neo-natal center. Basically, if something might require specialized care we wanted to know because we would not have deliver in the town we lived in...with ds#3 we opted not to have the test because we lived near an excellent hospital with neo-natal - just in case.

I know the AFP has a high false positive. The PAPP-A was not commonly used at the time.

Do whatever your comfortable with...but you probably should know - we didn't even find out what we having with any of the 3! Gives you a little more insight into what type of people we are lol! We figured we know for the rest of their lives - so why not be surprised when there are so few real surprises in life! :)

If you can try to keep something on your tummy all the time - crackers, whatever. And make sure you keep hydrated. Once you get dehydrated it makes the nausea worse. Hang in there - your body is doing wonderous things!

The appt. went great - except for when I first went in to talk to the nurse, I felt an information overload. She told me so many things and asked so many questions! I went to like a women's health center and she gave me so many magazines, books, pamphlets, and even gave me sample diapers and formula. I was going to have my ultrasound the next day, but they were able to fit me in yesterday.

My husband was with me and that has got to be one of the most awesome things I have ever seen in my life! We saw the little baby and it was moving it's hands and everything! They measured it and said I was actually further along than I thought. I am 10 weeks instead of 9. So my due date is now Spt. 4th instead of Sept. 11th (I'm glad!). Can't wait until I can find out the sex. And I'm glad that there's only one baby and not 2!

So glad your appt went well! The first one is always a doozy! we went for our U/S yesterday, measured 7wks, 3days. Heartbeat was strong at 155. What a miracle on that screen isn't it? Hubby keeps looking at me like I am such a superstar, for growing that little thing inside my body LOL.

So glad that we get to share this experience! I haven't vaped in two days. just can't stomach it :-\

Hey guys,

I haven't been around because of all the miserableness of pregnancy, but now that I'm in my second trimester, I'm feeling much better. Went to my second prenatal appt last night and heard the heartbeat again, which is always reassuring. I haven't vaped at all, it still doesn't taste good. And I'm doing fine without it, actually! Well, I have gained 15 lbs. already, so you can probably guess what my substitute is:). I definitely do have those moments where I wish I could have a margarita and a nice vape, but it passes quickly. I do have a feeling once I give birth that I may start vaping again, though.

Unfortunately, I'm not going to be able to make vapefest. With my new job there is a telephone cutover that they of course scheduled on the 26th. Or else I was going to go that night. Dammit, anyway, I really wanted to see everyone that was going to be there! I hope everyone here has been doing well and I miss hanging out with you guys, but I'm kinda all consumed with this pregnancy thing!!!:)

Ah heck, 120 years ago women cut wood and worked in the fields until it was time to have the baby. They rode horses and mules and washed by hand with lye soap. (I {may} have gone sled riding while 7 months pregnant.) Just listen to your body. And make sure you're popping the prenatal vitamins ASAP - even regular Vits with folic acid will do. If nausea is an issue with the vit's try the kids gummy ones.

Oh (and guys look away!)

Guys, you've been warned......TMI coming....

Make sure you drink as much water as you can handle. One of the cons of stopping nic can be constipation - same with early pregnancy - and you do NOT want that to be an issue ;-)

I haven't read all of this yet, but this bears repeating. Really. Lots of fiber too. Those gummy vites were the only thing that didn't give me tire fire indegestion.

Congrats!!!!!

ETA: LOL well I'm behind the times aren't I. Anyway, my body did the same thing with smokes when pregnant with #1. They tasted like I licked an ashtray. I only wish I had stuck with it after because I never stopped craving them with #2.

Thanks all:)

I think I'm finally over the major nauseous portion, which is great. I had been having really bad headaches and of course I can't take anything except for Tylenol and that doesn't do jack. Now I'm experiencing the great heartburn. Doc said I could take Pepcid, so I'm off to get some today.

My manager was pretty cool about it. Although, my HQ is in Virginia and they don't know yet because they basically took a chance in hiring me and I'm still taking classes that they are paying for and I want to wait until I have taken some more. Dealing with my new job has been difficult, because I've felt like total crap while trying to take classes and deal with all the new responsibilities of the job.

Getting excited and have been on baby info. overload, though! I DVR all the Baby Sotry and Bringing Home Baby shows on TLC. My first gift was a Winnie the Pooh from my mom, which I thought was so sweet because I had one when I was little and it was my favorite stuffed animal.
