I'm gonna get jumped on for this and the certain poster's are going to claim it's ANTZ' propagada because it's from wiki

But

Historically, nicotine has not been regarded as a carcinogen and the IARC has not evaluated nicotine in its standalone form or assigned it to an official carcinogen group. While no epidemiological evidence supports that nicotine alone acts as a carcinogen in the formation of human cancer, research over the last decade has identified nicotine's carcinogenic potential in animal models and cell culture.[72][73] Nicotine has been noted to directly cause cancer through a number of different mechanisms such as the activation of MAP Kinases.[74] Indirectly, nicotine increases cholinergic signalling (and adrenergic signalling in the case of colon cancer[75]), thereby impeding apoptosis (programmed cell death), promoting tumor growth, and activating growth factors and cellular mitogenic factors such as 5-LOX, and EGF. Nicotine also promotes cancer growth by stimulating angiogenesis and neovascularization.[76][77] In one study, nicotine administered to mice with tumors caused increases in tumor size (twofold increase), metastasis (nine-fold increase), and tumor recurrence (threefold increase).[78]

The research done by non ANTZ groups such as cancer journal

Jury is not totally out yet.....

Didn't you learn last time that the Wiki article on nicotine is mostly using tobacco studies put off as nicotine studies?
I just went there for that quote and 2 out of 3 of the footnotes I clicked clearly said they were tobacco studies.

If you're not going to bother checking the footnotes further than who said them stop using Wiki for your nicotine information, it's not trustworthy.

SIGH. You tin-foil hatters.

PLOS ONE: Nicotine Promotes Tumor Growth and Metastasis in Mouse Models of Lung Cancer

Here we show that nicotine significantly promotes the progression and metastasis of tumors in mouse models of lung cancer. This effect was observed when nicotine was administered through intraperitoneal injections, or through over-the-counter transdermal patches.

I do think that article has some merit. However, there are two key details in the article that are worth noting:

"These results suggest that while nicotine has only limited capacity to initiate tumor formation, it can facilitate the progression and metastasis of tumors pre-initiated by tobacco carcinogens"

And:

"A small square representing 0.45 mg of the patch equaled a final dose of 25 mg/kg daily"

Wow, that is a HUGE dose of nicotine. For a 170 lb person (77 kg), that would mean an intake of almost 2000 mg daily, or more than 160 mL of a 12 mg/mL ejuice. Is that very realistic for us?

Heres the link to the article: Nicotine Promotes Tumor Growth and Metastasis in Mouse Models of Lung Cancer

In any case, my two brother-in-laws are doctors and they're converted. Not to the point of 'recommending' it but they will suggest that a patient might 'look into it'. And that's fine, I understand their position.

That is exactly what my doctor told me when I went for my annual checkup about six weeks ago. Paraphrasing, "I can't recommend e-cigarette products to you, but if you are serious about quitting smoking--and you look like you are--then that is something you might consider."

The dose always makes the poison. Remember the story of the woman who competed in a radio show contest for who could drink the most bottled water without having to go wee wee, and drank so much water that she died?

Mash Here.

That Dihydrogen Monoxide is some wicked stuff, y'all.
