I'd add to the nic level I find in the morning I need something with a bit more kick and I usually use Johnson Creek domestic in 24mg. Then later in the day I go down to 18mg but I've only been off smokes for a month or so thus far but this works for me. Currently hitting the 24mg while starting the woodstoves in the shop but looking forward to the smoother vape of the lighter nic stuff;)

It's a process though and everyone is different but I'd start with higher nic.

I smoked a PAD 9 years, I got my starter kit and haven't lifted an analog yet, but it's been two days, I guess it just fit for me, I got my mini protank2 and gave the tank from my kit to my sister n lent her my spare battery, til she can buy her own Monday, I feel she may need a higher nic level than I do, she likes the 18 mg I'm not using since I replaced with 12, best of luck, my starter kit had two batts and two chargers, one for the vv and a mini USB for the passthrough.

VERY helpful, thank you.

this ---> 'I knew that I needed something *in my hand* that would closely approximate the size and shape of a cigarette' ...

and this ---> 'and "pretend" I was smoking; it's extremely helpful in that regard'

... is IT, EXACTLY. for me. those are pretty much my same reasons for wanting the cigalike. i feel like it HAS to mimic my 'typical smoking behavior', if i want it to feel like a successful substitute. Also i'm not a tinkerer or a hobbyist. Having to futz around with stuff just annoys me. I want something that works simply and easily without having to tweak stuff, fool around with parts, etc.

After reading a lot here, I now realize this may not be what i stay with - especially after reading about the gardens of earthly delights of delicious juices - but that it really IS the best starting point for me. thanks so much.

Yeah I needed to mimic the behavior more than anything else; not *terribly* dependent on nicotine, as the 18mg and 12mg I tried at first just made me nauseous. Used 6mg for a week, vaping my face off and not getting sick, in order to prove to myself I could really do this; now I start the day with 9mg, go to 8mg after about an hour, and then go to 6mg after dinner. Have found that I sometimes still have the pounding heart when I go to bed, so I might need to go still lower after about 10pm.

Even with the eRoll, there's still a little of the fiddling about; filling the little tanks (they don't hold much, and you definitely need needle-top bottles, the fill hole is really tiny, and be careful not to overfill or it leaks into the atomizer and then onto the battery, and makes a gurgling noise/feeling like sucking thru a straw from a nearly-empty glass), making sure to swap the eRolls in and out of the charger, the "PCC" -- the eRoll won't just stop or anything, [Edit: actually it will just stop, the blue LED will flash 3 times, but from fully-charged to just-stopping takes a little while] but as it loses power, the taste and throat hit decrease somewhat. All that sort of fiddling is really why I got the iTaste vv3, but then you have to futz around with the tank/atomizer, and those seem to be a real pain. I'm about to get one of those Protank II Mini tanks, because apparently they have a lot fewer problems than others. People keep hollering about "rebuilding coils" and to be honest, I can barely SEE the coil, with my up-close vision. If I *ever* start with rebuilding coils, it's many months and a really good pair of reading glasses down the road. :D

As far as medications go, unfortunately most are SSRI's, and I've never responded well to to those. They tend to trigger my depression in a bad (suicidal) way. Not a viable option. Patches and vaping is an option, I almost quit with patches in the past. (Well.. sort of. I managed to not smoke 90% of the time that I was wearing them, the last day of the last step I had a bad day at work and bought a pack).
so, yeah. WTA's seem like a good option, and if all esle fails, perhaps snus (yuck).

Very common.

I still have an open pack of cigarettes in my car (the walk to the car has prevented me from cheating), two unopened packs in my freezer. Hard to explain but I do not think I will ever throw them out. It took me a while to stop the morning and bed time cigarette. Earlier on once or twice a month would light up a cigarette, rarely finishing it. I started with 18mg (one 10 ml bottle) of some tobacco flavor. It went into the bin rather quick. I finally got over the "I like / want tobacco flavors" a vanilla custard cured that. I really find when I have not vaped in a bit, mornings etc I really want a cigarette. After a few good vapes it goes away.

eRoll, I still love my eRoll's. I hate how often I need to fill them and the cost of the coils (be gentle with them and they will last). They are great to let other people try vaping or flavors as they are easy (pretty much idiot proof I had no issues ;) ). Throw in a Innokin Ucan and a Joyetech eRoll Case and it makes it a little better. Battery life (PCC or ecig) will not last the day. I usually use the eRoll or eGo's for "stealth vaping".

For me others may not agree.
One does not have to do "lug hits". (Many others here seem to agree)
Flavor(s). It is weird many flavors I thought I would like I do not, many flavors I thought I would not like I love.
Juice I use is usually something I will enjoy all day. I have had many that are closer to yuck (Buckley's thought).
If I taste any burn flavor I try to find out why and correct it. Wattage, coil, no Juice (DOH), button being hit when not using, etc.
6.5 watts - 8.0 watts is fine. Really depends on the juice, the tank, how full is the tank (find as it gets empty higher wattage is nice). Dual coil tanks are warmer (not a real bonus now, may have been a bonus earlier on) not much of a "performance gain", if any.
Being able to see wattage, resistance is a necessity to set up my eGo's in a decent range.
Stock coils, I have had some one or two ranges out. e.g. Should be 1.8 ohm and is running 2.4ohm.
Use vaping when you used to chain smoke driving, writing in a forum, reading a forum, watching TV, etc.
I have had real intense cravings pop up at weird times, I have refused many people offers of a cigarette.
Very happy to say the last cigarette I lit made me feel very ill.

I still have 12 cigs in the last pk I was smoking out of; gave away the last unopened pk but I was afraid to get rid of all available cigarettes, figured I'd go into a panic about it. So I just ignore them, mostly, though recently when I've caught sight of them, I just smile, it's so nice to finally be FREE of them! Have y'all seen that new anti-smoking commercial, about cigarettes being bullies? I felt like that for years, I had to do everything that stupid habit told me to do, like it or not -- like hanging out on the front porch freezing my bits off, or alternatively, hanging out there when it's 95 degrees and 90% humidity and I'd much rather be enjoying the AC indoors. Had to stop going to the movies when every damn place under the sun went non-smoking; just no way I could go 90 mins or more without a smoke. But it's cheaper anyway to get PPV at home, and you can pause it to go to the bathroom or get a snack, instead of missing a bunch of the movie.

As I said, don't have much dependence on nicotine, as I stick primarily to 6-8 mg, but that throat hit is REQUIRED -- I smoked VA Slims Ultra-Light cigarettes for 20 yrs, because of all the ultra-lights, only VA Slims ultra-lights still tasted like smoking a cigarette -- good throat hit, not like "smoking air" the way Carltons are.

I've tried just a few sweet flavors, but they all seem to lack throat hit, like ENTIRELY lack throat hit, and that is just not satisfactory to me at all. Unless/until I can find something sweet that will tingle my mouth and throat in the right way, I'll be sticking almost entirely to my Virginia. Got some peppermint that I use primarily to jump-start my tastebuds when they get deadened, but it's a lot like menthol, which I always hated, so I don't use that much. Got some cinnamon redhot but it requires the pyrex, and that's a hassle, and it really doesn't have nearly the hot throat hit I thought "redhot" would have. Got some very inadequate chocolate, which I think I'll soon be replacing with Halo Belgian Cocoa, but I'm not holding my breath that something chocolate flavored would have throat hit. Got some 'Constant Comment' a few days ago, but it seems to need a pretty long sit in the dark, to really have much taste at all.

So I'll be vaping MFS Virginia for the foreseeable future.

Halo's Belgian Cocoa is sooooo good! It is one of my favorote chocolate flavors. I had a friend give me a bottle of it, it is 18mg nic so I do not use it very often! I vape 6mg nic. So 18mg makes me woozy and sick! Lol I mixed some of it with some mocha 6mg and the nic was still too strong! Lol it tastes soooooo good though!

I've heard it's really good. The one I got has been sitting in a dark drawer for more than 2 wks, and it still tastes pretty much like nothing at all. Nice smell of chocolate, but no real taste. So I guess if I want chocolate, it's gonna have to be the Belgian. I tried Halo's Mocha, but any of the coffee-ish flavors taste like pipe tobacco to me.

I wish that I had some of the belgian cocoa in 6mg or 0mg. I have thought about getting some, but I just have not yet. Hmmmm I wonder why your other flavor does not have a taste? Sometimes I guess maybe not enough flavor put in it? I always get so sad when I buy a flavor and its just not what I thought it would be. :( I am not a fan of tobacco flavors or pipe tobaccos! I just cannot get myself to like tobacco flavors! I have tried, but I just do not like them I guess! :)

It took me several tries with different tobacco flavors, before I found one I liked, and thank god I did, it's so close to the taste of the cigarettes I smoked, and that made this whole thing a lot easier.

I really am disappointed with that chocolate I have; I even got it with a 'sweet shot' but durned if I can taste anything sweet in it. It smells great, but just no taste. At first I thought maybe it was because of the eRoll, which does mute flavors a bit, but last night I tried it in my T3S on my iTaste, which gives me LOTS of flavor from my Virginia... but it really wasn't any better in that than it was in the eRoll. :(

Today should be WTA day. By the time I wake up there should be two bottles of fruit flavors here waiting for me.
already emptied, cleaned and put new heads in my aerotank and pt3 in anticipation.
unfortunately, I also have an appointment with my pulmonologist today. I hate doctors appointments. They always scold me for my bad life choices. :D
at least this time around I can tell them I've made a good choice, at least with one of my self destructive behaviors.

Hey I went to a vapeing haven't smoked a cig yet I love I did spend about $120 for my current set but this is also the twentieth time iv tried quiting cigs all I can say is spend the money on a nice setup in the beginning there's a reason why the cheap ones are cheap I'm on my 3rd setup and as of right now I don't every feel like I will go back to cigs vape life brother

That is good that you found a tobacco flavor you like! It is sad to have something that smells good, but just does not deliver the taste!
I love hazelnut sooooo much! It is my favorite flavor! I also like to mix maple pecan with it! I just cannot get myself to like tobacco, and when I smoked cigaretes I hated the smell of tobacco when I would smell a cigarette before it was lit..I know it is weird..lol. I love sweet desert flavors! Like hazelnut, maple pecan, mocha, peanut butter, butter toffee, coffee, etc.! Lol

Yay! I hope you love them!
I hate going to doctor appointments too! I literally have not been to a doctor in years! Good luck!
