Hey all,

Just thought I'd pop in to say I will be ordering a sideshow in the future.

I got my Blu just over 2 weeks ago, and despite all the negative comments about them in ECF, I love it.

For me, it works just fine. Good Vapor, decent flavor with juice I got for free from ECF prize patrol. I love the compactness of it and everything.
So the functionality of the Blu is just perfect for me.
After all, I'm off analogs for over 2 weeks now because of it. Isn't that the point?

I would say my only negative thoughts on the Blu are Battery / Cart life and wind sensitivity. That's pretty much what everyone's negatives are, but most people seem to think that makes it garbage.

So after my 2 weeks on ECF and reading up, I found Sidesho.
I think that will give me a perfect solution.
Longer battery life, more juice in the cart, and manual batteries.

But unfortunately, my wife (and common sense) says I have to wait till The Blu has paid for itself before ordering another set...LOL.
So probably in about a month.

I plan on just getting 2 Manual Batteries, 2 Attys, and a couple prefilled cart packs.

I understand the chargers I have already for Blu will work with the Sidesho batteries, right?
Any tips and tricks to be aware of?

Thanks.

Errm, how long have you had the Blu?
If less than a month you don't WANT to wait. They have a 30 day no questions asked 100% refund policy, lol.

That's what I did. I got the blu first. My roommate saw the sidesho. I had him order one, tried it, liked it, ordered it and am returning my blu for a full refund tomorrow. He already got it on his.

The only "wasted money" that I didn't get back was on the carts but I just went to the grocery store pharmacy, asked for an oral syringe, (the big ones with no needle tips for giving medicine to children, etc orally), they give them away for free. Went home, opened all my Blu carts, yanked out the filler with a paperclip, dumped them into said large syringe. Poured excess fluid inside into a little bottle. When the syringe was full I squeezed the plunger down holding it over the little bottle and pushed for the life of me. I was cramming down so hard on it that I was happy I had already used the rest room earlier. HOWEVER, I did manage to squeeze about 99% of the fluid out. Used that to refill carts for the sidesho so..... /WIN.

I thought you said you liked the blu? So I'm not sure why you're being advised to get rid of it??? If they got you off of real cigarettes, they can't be all that bad. ;)

I have the blu, Volcano and Sidesho; they all work great for me.

The Sidesho's advantages are pretty much what you stated, manual batteries, larger carts and longer battery life (all very good qualities as well). However, a couple of other key advantages that may be important in your future purchase; Modern Vapor offers a larger variety of options for the Sidesho vs. what either blu or volcano can do.

Sidesho offers a wider variety in battery colors; blu and volcano only offer black & white.

Sidesho offers manual batteries as well as automatic; blu and volcano only offer automatic.

Sidesho offers a USB passthru, blu and volcano do not.

Sidesho offers 2 PCC styles, regular and smart; only volcano offers the same.

Modern Vapor offers liquids; only volcano offers liquid (in limited flavors).

Although Sidesho carts cost about the same as blu's, Volcano offers a cheaper cost per cart in quantity discounts. However, Tony has mentioned that Modern Vapor was investigating quantity discounts on their carts as well.

Compatibiltiy issues: The Sidesho batteries will work with the blu/volcano attys, but I cannot get the Sidesho attys to work with blu/volcano batteries. Sidesho batters will charge in the blu charger, but I have never tried mixing the PCCs (Although blu and volcano will NOT work in the Sidesho PCC due to the short length).

As a bonus, Modern Vapor also sells Halo Liquids and... some users have been testing a Low Resistance Atomizer which is reported to increase vapor and throat hit. Hopefully this will be available in the near future.

If you know how to use the blu and you like it, the Sidesho will be a great addition to your collection.

Good Luck and Happy Vaping!

That's pretty much what I was thinking, and said in my post. Thanks for backing me up:sneaky:

Volcano Does have USB passthrough now, which I already bought.
I don't think they have manual batteries yet.
At least not for the Volcano, they have them for the Magma.

pdssoft, I don't know how long it has been since you visited the Volcano site, but they do have pass-throughs ($12.99) and a manual battery option. They also have the Magma, which is like the 510. Volcano is also due to bring out a new battery that is less sensitive to noise and wind.

Yes, I did see that, but isn't that really a Magma Passthru which also fits the Volcano (same threading)?

That's an excellent picture Tony put up on the carts... The best blu can do on quantity discounts is $.80 per cart. With Modern Vapors 20% discount (that they have been offering as long as I can remember). The price per cart is about the same.

Now I know the Volcano's come out to about $.50 per cart (in bulk orders) but you still have to give weight to the cart size.

And, Modern Vapor offers an upgraded PV (the 902) in the event you decide to step up in the future.

One last thing to mention, Modern Vapor's site gets updated with new products, pretty regularly. As an end user, I think this is important that your Vendor is working to offer you new products. With that said, in all fairness, Volcano does a good job of this as well, but blu's site hasn't changed since I bought my first Start-up kit.

Mini Batteries? hmmmm.... ;)

I would love to see the difference!!! If you look at your cartridge plugs, look how long the plug has to go into the the cart to hit the inner cart. There is no way you have 2x as big with that long of a plug

So what you are saying is you cart is as big as the Sidesho cart, my carts are not even 2x the size of the L88. It is just not possible with your atomizer design. Your atomizer design has to go all the way into the cart, mine has a much smaller distance.

So if you are advertising your is 2x as big as the L88, I would love to see it!!

Um ok... a few comments.

Firstly regarding a fairly insignificant point:

"Sidesho batters will charge in the blu charger, but I have never tried mixing the PCCs (Although blu and volcano will NOT work in the Sidesho PCC due to the short length)."
--True. I forgot to charge my sidesho PCC due to passing out on my bed (still dressed, lol) unexpectedly last night. I had a coworker with a blu slip my sidesho manual batt into her blu case. Even with the button on the outside of the manual battery it both fit AND charged fully. I've also charged sidesho batt's in Blu's computer USB charger.

As for the cart size, well, BULL$$%$ that they are the same. I had a Blu I returned. I still have unused carts I may be blind but I'm looking at the sidesho inner cart and the Blu inner cart RIGHT NOW and the sidesho LOOKS 2x as big, bigger than even tony's pic.
I ALSO ordered Volcano carts because I wanted to try pineapple and chocolate which Blu doesn't sell. They are the same size as Blu's. I ordered them like 2 weeks ago so unless Volcano changed them last night I call foul.

Lastly: Customer service. I had no problem with Volcano but I also didn't deal with them much. No complaints though, No positive applause either.
Blu on the other hand, well... Blew.
Long shipping, "we could give a #$%$" attitude about problems. I was given incorrect information from their customer service initially, that if you smoked too much the battery would flash 10 times and not work for 10 minutes , (it's 10 seconds, NOT minutes, lol). THEN when they sent me my shipping confirmation the tracking link to mail express wouldn't even pull up. I called and the man there told me that's a common problem, sometimes they send bad links. The package was actually at that time ALREADY in my leasing offices mailbox, had been for a day, but the mail express site was still utterly blank and said "no info found"

I had a question about the warranty info; Tony answered it that night AND took my suggestion about extending it from 14 days and corrected it and updated his website THAT EVENING.

A handful of people mentioned possibly being interested in LED-less batteries for stealth-vaping (work, driving, bars, etc, places where you don't want to call attention), he said he'd order a handful on his next order.
THAT'S what sold me. The product is better in my opinion but still, to me that's less important, though it's good, than a small supplier that ACTUALLY gives a #$@# what you think and what you want, lol.

Call Blu, Call volcano. Request they carry a certain flavor you like or sell blank carts (from BLU lets say if they don't already). Let me know after they say they'll "take it into consideration" to you if it ever actually happens ;)

I'll post pics I just took myself.
Also what's the difference if the magma cart IS larger even if it is? It's for an effectively 510 model no? That's apples and oranges. The volcano is the analog to the blu/sidesho, not the Magma. Compare the Magma cart size to other 510s, not entirely different models like the sidesho unless you're saying your magma prefilled carts fit on blus and sideshos which obviously they don't.

Also man I was never telling you that you SHOULD return the Blu. You mentioned using it for a few more weeks to get value from it.
My point was only that if THAT was the concern, return it before the 30 days and get those weeks for FREE with a full refund THEN get something else with the cash. If you want to keep the Blu because you LIKE IT and want to; that'sa completely different story ;)

Ok here we go. So.. Volcano guy... what was your comment again? Something about "false advertising" I believe? :)

Unless I'm a liar too...
Sorry about the crappy quality, in a pique of irritation I just took these with my iPhone, it's the picture is fuzzy but I think the points perfectly clear.

Now don't get me wrong. I'm not saying 35% more or less is going to make or break anything; especially because hell, most of us refill with fluid bought in bulk because it's cheaper than prefilled carts but even with foam mods etc etc we all know you're next to NEVER going to vape a cart 100% of the way, I'm happy with getting one 1/2 way before adding a few more drops in because it's getting dry-ish. But still, if we ARE going to mention it lets stick to the facts.

Correct, the OUTER carts are identically sized.

The sideshow cart will NOT work on a blu/volcano atty because it's WAYYY up higher inside the outer mouthpiece (the outer cart).
Well I mean maybe if you hold it physically up against the sideshow atty but... lol.. not exactly convenient.

That's why I just used the oral syringe to squeeze the juice out of my old blu/volcano carts and used that fluid to refill the sidesho empty carts. Didn't want to waste the cash I spent on the blu/volcano prefilled carts :)

Sorry to disagree Joe, but Volcano and blu are the same size... At least as of my last order about a month ago...

Perhaps you are thinking of the "Old" blu carts... when I first ordered blu back in November, the Vanilla carts were smaller than this...

Sorry, I don't mean to diss, but Tony's Picture is accurate as compared to my supply...

(Wow, you guys post fast! ;) )

No prob, it's just the truth /shrug.

I mean like I said, I frankly don't see a HUGE difference anyway since I don't use prefilled much but I like the larger carts for self-refilling. Nothing I've done uses ALL the fluid but I've noticed still I have to refill a LOT less with your carts than when I had the Blu/volcano carts. Also since there's more space I tend to overfill LESS and not flood them nearly as much as I did with the blu/volcano ones.

My roommate though smokes the sidesho tobacco prefilled. He says the taste is equivalent to blu's (which he liked a lot) and that there isn't tons of vapor off them and they aren't "OMG WOWWW!" but that he DOES notice they last noticeably longer than the blu/volcano ones he's used.

EDIT: I may ninja post but your pics are much better lol.
