Well, I broke down and ordered one to play with as well. Why not?
Dan, how are you securing the negative connection? I don't see the screw you cut in half in the picture where the coil is firing. Can you post a top-shot of the whole setup? Also, why the NR wire from the positive terminal? Is that specific to this change-over mod or is it more effective to reduce the lead size of the resistance wire by using silver wire?

Yeah, let me get one for you. The neg scew is right next to the wick. The reason for the NR wire is so I do not have resistance wire running in open air from the wick to the pos post. The only glowing and resistance I get is wrapped around the wick.

Ahh, okay. I can imagine it now. Can't wait to get mine from the co-op. If I PM some pics of my SVG3, can you offer me some advice on repairing it? I've got a few problems including a slightly bent negative nail/spring terminal, a stuck poly tube due to black o-rings being used instead of the red silicone o-rings, the bottom hole for press fitting a CE2 connector is a bit loose and connectors just slide right in and don't fit snug anymore, and finally, the positive wire is thin and aged and needs replaced. If I send you a couple of shots, can you advise me on some maintenance?
Thanks!
I drilled the wick hole with a slight angle toward the positive pole so I would not need the nr wire and left the original air hole. It is working great on a lavatube. I really like the hole right under the wick, gives great TH. Pics tomorrow, camera battery charging.
Are you using a vertical coil?
I got one of these and for the money I'm wiling to experiment. I had no airflow at all on a VV gripper or Buzz Pro either. I did have an extension that worked to get airflow but, it looked really dumb. I solved it by doing two things. I extended the slot in the bottom to the edge and deepened it a little with a hacksaw. Then I filed down the threads on either end of the slot. It's aluminum. So it doesn't take a lot of work. Now it will draw and I'll bet it will draw on a Provari too.

Yes, the same procedure as Dan with the extended positive pole. Only difference is that I am using the original air hole under the coil so I did not seal this hole.
Interesting I will try that later with my other non modified smok.
Did you not drill an air hole in plastic heating chamber?
