That's OK, BJ, once the Chinese read Dan's and your posts about these, they will come out with a new version

Maybe we should just send them a hole and post template for the top and they can sell them without wicks and coil. That's OK, BJ, once the Chinese read Dan's and your posts about these, they will come out with a new version![]()

Okay so mine finally came. I modded with Dan's approach and since I use an LT, I made the same changes as BJ43. It's working well enough, no shorts plenty of TH. But the draw is pretty tight. I popped on a 510-510 extender adapter and this helped quite a bit. Still tight though. I want to ask advice before I mod too far and have no way back; Would it be wise to combine the two tutorials - leave the original air hole and drill a new one in the vape chamber? It tastes pretty damn good and I know I'm close. Here are some pics. I doubt they'll shed any light beyond what I've described but I'm an absolute newbie at this, so you never know if someone may see something I've missed. Thanks.

Don't do anything more until you have vaped at least 3ml and the wick and coil break in. If you have VV keep the voltage a little lower at first and gradually increase it to your liking.
Looking good...
I don't know what your ohms are but on my 2.4 ohms I start at 4.2V and and gradually go up to 5v, but my sweet spot is around 4.8v (around 10watts). I do all my vaping at a max of 2.5 amps. Thanks, glad I asked before going further. I do have a VV, what would you consider a little lower? I've been between 4.8 and 5.0 (I'm sure that's not "a little lower"), but should I be in the 3s, low 4s? Thanks again BJ this is not the first thread where you've helped me directly, and I learn from your posts and threads and ideas all the time. (yours too Dan!)
I got mine in today. Fun to tinker with. Left the air hole unplugged. Extended the positive post and drop the negative screw. Reused the wire that came with it. I think my biggest problem is I don't know how to wrap the coil properly, and I am getting inconsistent resistance. I am sure this has been posted before, but could somebody point me in the right direction to wrapping a coil correctly around stainless steel mesh? Additionally I would like to know how to use the non resistance wire?
Well,my ss mesh will not arrive till mid week so since I'm a tad bit impatient,I made all the mods that Dan showed and just used some 3mm silica doubled at the coil,It stands verticle out of the hole and the posts are setup as Dan's.I drilled the air hole at 1/16th inch. I let the silica wick travel long around the bottom of the tank.It is single going into the tank and double at the coil.I dont have a soldering iron so I borrowed from another post in this thread and plugged the airhole in the tank with a toothpick. This coil came in at 1.8omhs ,the wicking is working superbly and the vaper is fantastic.I am useing vg/pg @60/40 and having absolutely no troble at all with this setup...Man O Man..Ill be glad to get my ss this week, and Im about to go to home depot to get a soldering iron and a torch...can someone please sugest what type solder to get..I have never use one..View attachment 125328
