Hi Everyone,
First I have to say that I have been analog free for over 3 months thanks in large part to this forum and you people.
A 50 year bad habit is history. Thanks everyone.

Now for what my wife who works at an airlines told me.
She said that she had overheard a conversation between a couple other employees that a plane had been delayed for takeoff because the smoke detector in the plane restroom had activated. Turns out someone set the smoke detector off while vaping in plane restroom.
Don't have any more details about the insistent. Thought this might be helpful to know. Don't want anyone to be embarrassed or worse when flying.

Are you sure? I've vaped in American Airlines flights moren than three times.

"The FAA, for now, has deferred to each airlines, letting each company set its own rules and most (if not all) of the major US carriers, including United, JetBlue, Southwest, American Airlines, Delta, AirTran, British Airways, Virgin Atlantic, Alaskan/Horizon Air, have all individually banned the use of e-cigarettes on planes."

I didn't know that. It was a while back when I last used it in a flight. What a shame.. Thanks for heads up tho!

essentially a pv is just a small scale fog machine for a dull non indepth description of the device and i know my fog machine sets off the smoke detector in my house (dont know why but forget to detach it every halloween) so i could see that it could set them off in a plane not to mention a public transit type of vessel would probably have them set to a extremely high sensitivity for safety reasons

and yes pv / juice / batts can go on planes just not used while on them and juice has to abide by the same liquid rules at the security checks

well....the first 2-3 times I flew internationally, smoking was still allowed on planes (in a smoking section), if people get uncomfortable with seeing a vaper...I mean, wth???
I'm uncomfortable with seeing a lot of things (like some people eating sloppily or kids with crusty snotty faces) but we don't go around banning that stuff.
I'm sure they'll be more uncomfortable if they tick me off after 10-12 hours of me not getting my nicotine.
