My review of the dripper top. Keep in mind I loved the flavor of the SS mesh but could not get a warm enough vape.

Love the "Jeetus" review! Nicely done. Have you tried the dripper setup with a steel wick at all. I haven't even used the drip top yet. What's a good place to get some silica wick though? It seems to work quite well, I think I'll try it. Thanks Murdock!

It works in dripper mode with the SS mesh. It just gets a bit dry. My next wick I will try wraping the SS around the silica and have the silica touching the bottom.

That's awesome. Is there a spike plate on top of the middle section (I can't see one), or are you just using the wick to hold the tank in place? I like the idea of the horizontal air holes on the middle piece. It seems that might cut down on liquid going up into the tank area.

Dan, You Inspired me to try my hand on an atty, so this past weekend I fired up my lathe and roughed together a stainless steel prototype...I took your idea for the connector (love it). The 5/8" dia. of the Sturm, The Bulli tank idea Raidys ss wick and wow I love it... so far so good...Vapes amazing I have been using it at work all week on my Provari and am liking it!...I need to finish sanding and polishing it now that I know it works.... Thanks for your inspiration...Also recieved my Katana from POC today..lovin that to...Keep up the good work!

Well guess what I got in the mail today?...woot!, bp400, you are the MAN!

Suddenly all the video's and pics all make sense once you hold it in your hand

This thing is stunning, the pics I've seen of it don't do it justice (no offence to any photographers out there;)) the fit and finish is about as close to perfect as can be although the heads of the coil screws look like they could be an issue regarding wear over time...

If you haven't got yours yet, get excited :D

This thing is tall in 5ml mode, I'm going to have to figure out what I'm going to use for the extension tubing on the Quigsworth GTUS

Hey Guigs,

B-rad at sweetvapes builds them internal like that and uses an extension. He has you choose the atty you want to use inside and build the connector to that height ...then fashions an extension so that you can use "other" attys normally on the outside. this is from his gallery,

Hell...why not...put me on the stand by back up list! :)

Looks like good work to me, and I'm running out of mods....would be a good construction site mod for me....I think anyway. :p

I think it will definitely be a good construction site mod. It looks like it's gonna be tough as nails :)

So, I've been messing with this thing all day (as soon as the mail lady came at 12:30 that was about it for my work day:p) and like a lot of the guys that have the pre-releases it was dry hit city, in fact that was all I was getting...now that could be the way I vape, one of my buddies vapes like an old lady drinks tea and another buddy fills his smoktech mega's till it's pouring out the bottom, cranks the vv up to 5.5v and blasts away.

I finally got it vaping fairly good,

1. It's a much cooler vape than what I'm used to, there's a lot of real estate, especially in the 5ml config for the vape to cool

2. You have to get rid of the hdpe bushing where the wick goes through the mid section, I then I bored out the wick hole with a 3/32" drill bit, I also got rid of the lower bushing in the bottom section.

3. I made my wick out of a 13mm x 30mm piece of 320 ss mesh (seems to recover way faster than the 400) and rolled it around a 3/64" drill bit, I then just tempered/sugared/sooted the whole thing.

4. I wrapped my coil around the 3/32" bit, put in in place, tested it then slide the wick in, primed it, slid the mid section on, snipped the wick on a slight angle about 1/4" up, loaded the tank and put it together.

5. Now I read this part on here and wondered wth! but...before you take a toot, blow into it, it's cool, this little jet of vape comes out of the air hole  but I watched why it works with the recon tank on...as someone figured out, it seems the wick vapour locks with air bubbles and stops the juice flow, when you blow, it shoots the bubbles up into the tank which allows the juice in...see kids, the laws of fluid dynamics are fun:D

At any rate, I can "almost" chain vape this thing with this set up, to compare I have the same juice in:

1. 2.3 ohm Joye atty (dripping, de-bridged/de-wicked) on my Provari @ 4.5v
2. 1.8 ohm coil on my SGV3 @3.7v
3. 1.5 ohm helical dual coil set up in my Ody @ 3.7v
4. 2.0 ohm coil on the GTUS @ 3.7v

my results (and this is obviously a very personal opinion) from best to worse

Taste: 3 - 4 - 1 - 2
TH: 2 - 1 - 3 - 4
Ease of refill: 1 - 2 - 3 - 4
Ease of full rebuild: 4 - 2 - 3

Now these ratings may change with how the GTUS works with different juices, etc...it's no Ody but considering it's half the price (or if you check what some guys on the classies are asking for them, a 1/4 the price :glare:) it's a nice piece of gear. The "set up" learning curve is a little steep at first but so is every re-buildable, I think there is a lot more tweakablity with the GTUS and I can't wait till you all get yours so that the modding fun can really begin, over all, I'm pretty happy so far.

If I understand this correctly, you have a 3/64" hole through your wick, and you are using only 13mm of mesh to create the thickness of the wick. In my opinion, you would be better off using a wider piece of mesh and rolling it with either no hole or a smaller hole through the center (EDIT: Dan measured his at 35mm X 35mm without the spacer). I believe that the more mesh you have available for the juice to flow through, the better it will wick. With no spacer using a 3/32"-thick wick (with no hole), you should be able to chain vape with no dry hits, especially with 320 mesh.

Yup he is most certainly unwelcome on ECF for now and forever. It is fine to disagree with policies here but when you cross the line and just become disruptive and abusive it is time to go. And that's about all I'll say on the subject other than I will admit I made a mistake, I added an extra zero to delete last XXX posts. Whoops!

well I personally think that some of the administrators of this forum are just a little too to totalitarian for me ... and that in order to use the resources of this board I am forced to keep my mouth shut and go along with the status quo .. but isn't that what "the man" wants? For everyone to be good little sheep . unfortunately most people buck the system don't manage to get themselves in a position to change or destroy it from within. If and when kar starts his own board he will be a rule monger just like some of the people here. I say let people post what they want and if you don't like what they have to say don't read it ..... oops I guess I'm gonna get banned too. LOL, But at least wait until the coop is done so that all the people that have emailed me for the ghost protocol coop will get their stuff then you can ban me
