This file has an excellent timeline of all legislative enactments at Federal, State and Local levels. I have been looking for something like this for a while. Have not seen it in ECF.

https://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&...yNlPW7&sig=AHIEtbSHUshc9FX7fNhfGQRdsNcGEDNGIQ

I have been curious about the herbal vaporizers since they are now looking so much like e-cigs and it appears that Cattaraugus County, New York bans e-cigarette sales to minors and the use of herbal and e-cigarettes in public places and workplaces, effective February 14, 2012.

This is the only ban I have found that includes the use of herbal PVs in public places.

Does anyone know of a website that has statistics on the grow of e-cig use by state? I am interesting in knowing how the vape anywhere ban in New Jersey has effected increased e-cig sales compared to states that do not have the vape anywhere ban.

The creator of that document has lied / unintentionally spouted falsehoods for several years about e-cigarettes. She is the reason why New Jersey bans PVs in public places.

San Francisco, for example, has not banned e-cigarette usage, yet she claims they did.

In Catt County, NY, the ban was on the use of e-cigarettes and herbal cigarettes -- not herbal PVs.

According to ECF, San Francisco To Regulate E-Cigarettes
The SF Ban has been implemented.

Who is the she you are referring to?

The Cattaraugus County Law States:

The purpose of this law is "to prohibit the smoking of e-cigarettes, herbal cigarettes, and like products in public places where traditional forms of smoking are already disallowed and to ban the sale of such products to persons under the age of eighteen (18)."

The NJ law specifically states under definitions:

"Electronic smoking device" means an electronic device that can be used to deliver nicotine or other
substances to the person inhaling from the device, including, but not limited to, an electronic cigarette, cigar,
cigarillo, or pipe. "

and defines smoking as:
"Smoking" means the burning of, inhaling from, exhaling the smoke from, or the possession of a lighted cigar,
cigarette, pipe or any other matter or substance which contains tobacco or any other matter that can be smoked, or
the inhaling or exhaling of smoke or vapor from an electronic smoking device. "
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And furthermore the NJ law:
"26:3D-58 Smoking prohibited in indoor public place, workplace.
4. a. Smoking is prohibited in an indoor public place or workplace, except as otherwise provided in this act.

b. Smoking is prohibited in any area of any building of, or on the grounds of, any public or nonpublic
elementary or secondary school, regardless of whether the area is an indoor public place or is outdoors.

L.2005,c.383,s.4. "

Add the three clauses together and clearly vaping and e-cigs, mods whatever with or without nicotine or herbal ingredients are banned. After all, PG or VG and Flavor alone are substances and are baned

The person who wrote that document is Karen Blumenfeld.

The San Francisco ban was never taken up by the San Francisco Board of Supervisors. It's not law.

Blumenfeld's list of bans is relatively accurate, although she doesn't responsibly follow up on stories to see if bans are actually implemented (i.e., Macon, Georgia is listed but that "smoking" ban never went into effect). However, don't listen to a word she says regarding other facts about the legality / hazard of e-cigarettes in general.

Yes, public e-cigarette use is banned in New Jersey and Catt County. I wasn't saying she was wrong on those points. However, living in New Jersey, I can tell you that 99% of the population is unaware of the ban.

Thank you. You say you live in NJ. Do you know of any statistis in existence showing how the ban has effected the growth of e-cig sales as compared to states without the ban.?

Nope. Statistics on e-cigarette sales are basically all guess work.

The only thing the NJ ban likely accomplished was shutting down a couple mall kiosks.
