GeekVape supports firmware updates for Mac. I asked them via email for a Mac version and they sent me one, now the Mac version is listed on the site for download.

I saw that over at their offical page too! Looking forward to using that OS in the near future. Unfortunately I'm currently saving for a MAC but am using Chrome OS in my Chromebook. If my father doesn't have his PC all messed up, I'll go visit him first. I'm not too worried really unless I run into usb conflicts and I got those 2 geekvape update videos as reference as well.

If anything, I'm just trying to decide on what Mesh tank to go with... either the Falcon, the Mesh Pro from Freemax, or the the Alpha, either in Green or black hopefully. Coil lifespan is also very important to me.

Sorry for going a little off topic from the Legend for a minute though! I'm really gathering opinions on what really is the best sub ohm mesh tank right now.

Mesh Pro for flavor, hands down a winner although I am trying the Geekvape Alpha tank for the first time. It is better than their Aero Mesh tank but nowhere near the flavor of the Mesh Pro. As I stated in the Alpha thread I am using the single Alpha coil, expect better flavor when I change to the duel coil in the Alpha.

If you should have usb conflict try this

I posted this on Geekvape's forum

"I was trying to update my Legend to version 1.2, kept getting the error message “failed to find device”. I tried all the solutions offered above, none work.
I went to Control Panel – Device Manager – Scroll down to Human Interface Devices – had 3 USB Input Devices listed – unplugged the cable for the Legend now only 2 show up – right clicked on the first one and disabled it – couldn’t disable the second one so I right clicked, and clicked on uninstall device.
Went back to Geekvape’s instructions and it connected and updated hope this helps someone."

Ok, did the update but it did take me about 30 minutes to remember how windows works lol. No usb conflicts, but for a second there.. I thought I bricked my Legend because it didn't power on. After that, went back again and downloaded a 7zip or whatever it's called and that let me extract the files.

Everything is working perfectly and with the + and - buttons held down with the power off, it's now showing 1.2 so I'm happy.

The general consensus seems to side with Freemax Mesh Pro, with some folks claiming the Falcon's coils do last longer. I heard the Freemax (while 25mm at the base) is really 27 with the bottom resin AFC. I'm sure it would look nice on my green trim Legend! Just going to follow up with some more research first.

Oh and as far as the flavor of this little Aero Tank with the .02ohm single mesh coils, I can see a huge difference in flavor already when compared to tried and true round coils. This is my very first experience with mesh so..If I like the flavor in this little Aero Tank compared to my standard round coils already, I effing can't wait to try that M Pro.

Very happy.. for the moment.. But I am looking for that M Pro soon!

I just want to introduce myself as a new member as of yesterday :thumb: Absolutely loving it so far. And I’m totally impressed at how well and smooth it does tc. Very happy with that!

I updated my GV 100W from 1.0 to 1.24 when the update that fixed the new/old atty issue was released. After that I saw no reason to look for another update. TC works well, but I'm more of a wattage vaper, anyway. I used a short 6" cheap USB cable, maybe it came with it or possibly it was included with another mod. The update went without incident.

I have lots of USB micro and Mini cables as well as Type A to various end connects and a few type C cables. I just found one that fit and did the update 6 months or more ago.

I don't recall any v1.1 firmware for the Aegis 100W DaveP. I do recall the following:

v1.21
~~~~~
1. Resistance lock lost
V1.23a Oct 18th, 2017
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1. NEW/OLD Coil question optimized
2. Sleep Mode changed from 2 mins to 10 mins
3. Temperature Control slightly improved
4. Resistance lock added

v1.24 2018-02-27
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1. Optimized 10s overtime safety feature.
2. Modify Fahrenheit adjustment unit, from 10 degrees Fahrenheit to 5 degrees Fahrenheit.
3. Added Stealth mode, press and hold the 3 keys simultaneously for 2s to enter or exit the Stealth mode.
4. Version number changed to 1.24
There was no USB cable included and a regular microUSB doesn't fit. Although the Legend cable fits perfect on the Aegis 100W. :)
Yep. I have 1.24. I downloaded it back in Feb-Mar when it was announced.
Yep. I have 1.24. I downloaded it back in Feb-Mar when it was announced.
I found the original v1.0 worked the best for TC here. The others has problems with my Crown 1 SS316L coil heads with nickel legs. I use a TCR of 125 (.00125) on DNAs, Dovpo, Legend (with v1.2), and Vandy Vape mods which works perfectly. But not for Aegis 100W higher than v1.0 or Legend under firmware 1.2.
I used a short 6" cheap USB cable, maybe it came with it or possibly it was included with another mod.
No USB cables came with the Aegis 100W mods. Nor none of mine I had fit well enough without pressing and holding them in during the update. Although the Legend USB cables also fits them perfectly. Oddly enough I just updated my 3 Aegis 100W once again just 20 hours ago to remind me of what I didn't like about v1.24. This version does work well for TC with nickel coils and probably with SS without nickel legs.
Hi all I just got my Legend yesterday. I had the EHPro Fusion kit that started acting up likely to juice in the firing button (so I had to install batteries, hit it, take batteries out, every time or it would just keep firing). That's in a bag of rice right now but I'm an impatient fiend and I needed something asap. I found a guy on the list of Craig selling a whole bunch of stuff and he wanted $50 for the legend cuz he bought it for 90 at a store. I told him I didn't have that cash (I'm in rehab and broke as hell right now) but on thanksgiving I won a raffle at my local vape store and came home with a pax 3 vaporizer for herbs and concentrates, which I have absolutely no use for lol but it is a $200 device and at first he said he wasn't interested but when I sent him a picture of the pax he immediately called me and said "sir I have had a change of heart because I looked up the pax and now I know what you're talking about...."
So he drives over an hour to my spot to make the trade, he got an insane deal obviously considering the box was still factory sealed on the pax but I got the best vape on earth, the aegis legend, and he threw in the mason 24mm RDA because he said he hated it. I have the vandy vape capstone and augvape druga which are both stellar RDA though kind of small. I like using the capstone's clear top on the Druga for awesome flavor. But I dropped in two ni80 staggered fused coils at .18ohm to the mason and switched the metal tip to a plastic one and OMG! I didn't think you could have such flavor with something as big as a mason! With the airflow wide open my Legend is at 200w and begging for more! But I closed the airflow halfway and figured out how to use the VPC and man what a difference....
I'm thoroughly impressed with this legend mod and I really couldn't be happier.
The only downside was the TC. I had just ordered some ss430 coils which are coming in the mail tomorrow and I was psyched to use the temp control on this thing until I saw my mod was still running v1.0 D: and the guy who traded me for the legend didn't include the usb cable! My laptop charger is coming in the mail today so I'm going to try every cable I can and if necessary I'll take a razor blade to my usb to make it for! I am determined to update this thing xD
Anyway glad to be part of the community and I will update tomorrow if I can get this thing updated! :D
UPDATE!
I made a new post cuz my last one was a novel....
I used a USB cord from another vape that has firmware updates, and tried it on my phone so I know data works. Shaved the ends down and it fits right in the Legend.
I got my laptop turned on and tried the update.
No go.
Downloaded USBDview and uninstalled all my drivers. All of them. Started fresh.
Windows sees the Legend now but still the update software doesn't see it. Tried a few times with my three different USB ports to no avail.
I needed to take a hit so I popped my batteries in and now the Legend just won't turn on.
I BRICKED IT?! HAAALLLP! My old EHPro mod still is doing that stupid stuck on firing thing so I can barely get my fix now D:
Update pt.2
My roommate gave me his aegis 100w to use until I get this resolved. Bigass 26650 battery lol his mod was 2 years old still unscathed. Battery was 4 years old and at 100w setting it would only pump out 75-80w fully charged and ten hits later it was dead. Picked up a 3500mah 60AMP! 26650 for 12 bucks at my local doucheflute store.
Still no progress with the legend firmware. I've tried a hundred things nothing is working. I reloaded windows 7, nothing. I installed a custom windows 7 is I used for gaming (barebones operating structure lol), still nothing. I even tried installing Ubuntu but due to a lack of external flash drive and being unable to get my bios to recognize drivedroid, I messed up my partitions and I have a laptop with no OS and a bios that doesn't let me use legacy boot or basically any options for boot other than disc gonna pick up a flash drive from Wal-Mart tomorrow and boot Ubuntu and see if I can get this legend online. Don't get me wrong I'm sure the 100w aegis does okay but damn I need more than 100 watts! Like 100 watts more than 100 watts!! I guess I can make a smaller build....grr.....
What 60 amp 26650 do you have? I doubt that there is any 26650 battery that discharges more than 40A continuously. Might pulse 60 amp for a second or two but not continuous.
Why would you need more than 100 Watts? There really isn't a lot of benefits to extreme high wattage vaping.
Getting 200 watts on a pair of 18650 batteries is going to be tough also. There are no 18650 batteries over 30 amp continuous.
Only get batteries from a trusted source and stay away from overated rewraps.
Here's an amp calculator for regulated mod and batteries.
Brillipower 26650 Battery - 3500mAh
My 18650s are 40a and 3000mah, and at 200w they're pulling 37a
I use the VPC on the legend, with half airflow on my mason i start at 200 and slowly dial it back to 120 but if I run straight power mode I use 183w but with airflow wide open on my mason i do like 200w
No it isn't fabricated.....There are no 18650 batteries over 30 amps.....
here is the link to 26650 batteries mooch tested.
26650 Battery Bench Test Results and New Ratings Table
Brillipower Green 80A 4500mAh
While it has a preposterous 80A rating it is a good 25A continuous (estimated) cell that is in the top five for the 26650's I tested. Its length of 66.3mm means it should fit in the VF Stout without problems.
not if you bricked your bios as well ( i have one sitting here gathering dust i did that to )
or do you mean it will only boot an install from a cd/dvd .. in which case yayyyy
as for the legend
so much intended good information and help here .. but not always correct
also post in this thread ( Geekvape Aegis Legend ) its monitored by geekvape official he will give you the info
( basically this address support@geekvape.com. )
I love my Aegis 100W mods too and I noticed they are starting to disappear from the shelves. So I ordered a fourth one. And my year old Aspire 26650 cells are still pulling 100W with them. ;)
but damn I need more than 100 watts! Like 100 watts more than 100 watts!! I guess I can make a smaller build....grr.....
Damn! An Aegis Legend is probably not to cut it for you either. What you need is something like a 300W Lost Vape Triade 250C. Here is Vic vaping one at 300W. :lol:
