Man that is horrible, sorry to hear. I can't help but feel somewhat responsible :(
Don't feel that way :) I appreciate all the tips/feedback, this is a great community! The search continues. I've found SS ones on eBay already for $29.69. Black for $34.95. What do you guys think? Go for the black for 5 bucks more?

Up to you :). I always figure plain old SS is likely to last longer, but I do like a black atty.

Vape royalty has both for the same price as eBay, in stock. Plus they are reputable.

I have had my Griffin for a few days now, thought I would chime in having also got the Crius V3.

Hand down prefer the griffin, for a number of small reasons that all add up to a better tank imo.

My Crius is great, but the insulator has a small crack as do a lot of them and I get some mild leaking. Not enough to cry about, but enough to put me off picking it up as a daily device. The griffin so far has had zero leaking, not a single drop.

I find the airflow on the Griffin better, to me it seems to have a greater window of adjustability.

Flavour is on par between the two, if anything I would the Crius ever so slightly edges it. Not enough to swing a vote either way though.

The top fill... In theory the Crius top fill is genius, and it does work, but in a novelty way.
When you get down to the daily use of it, I just find the Griffin an easier device to fill. Take off the top and you have massive openings that I can tip a glass bottle upside down into to get the last bit of juice out if I need to. Try that on the Crius and you just end up spilling it everywhere. I also found when filling the crius, I would always end up with small amount of juice pushing out as I closed it down. I don't get that with the Griffin.

The build deck is noticeably bigger. I can put a proper clapton build on it without touching the chimney.
Wicking - both are practically the same, but again I find the channels easier to work with on the griffin. Not enough to be a game changer, but just enough for me to notice it.

Both the Crius and Griffin are awesome, but If I was to order a backup of either one it would be the Griffin every time.

Another thing I have noticed which is an inadvertent con for the griffin. Because of the slightly smaller juice capacity and the noticeably larger deck. Utilising that with a decent build I find myself constantly filing the thing.

It seems like my silver Griffin I ordered from GB a month ago, finally shipped today. I meant to cancel the order since the ship date moved to Jan. 25th and wait for the black version, but I forgot....lol.

It's all good, especially since I picked it up for less than $22 during one of their flash sales. Now that I know it's shipped, can't wait for it to get here.

I preordered mine from Everzon mid Dec. Preorder ended and griffin was supposedly in stock. It is now mid Jan. and my Griffin rta still is not shipped. I managed to get a hold of a rep for online chat twice and both times I was given excuses. In the end I have no Griffin rta and a paypal dispute on my hands. I guess Chinese vendors have a different take or different understanding of preorder sale.

Does anyone have problems with the metal bending on the post where you screw in the coil screw? Will post a pic when its time to change cotton. Anyway have a 2.5id 24ga kanthal and this turned out to be a real nice tank. So next one I will get some alen screws that fit cause I have stripped 2 of mine now and try to take it easy on tightening them. Flavor is reeaallyy good with a smaller id coil in this thing. Should have tried it from the start.
