Why so? If the first reviewer here says no, I'm thinking I'll skip this one.
I am not a reviewer. I just happened to be the first on the thread to physically get one. I bought 2 of them. First thing right off the bat is 3.5ml is a little to small for me. I did not really see to much difference between the Crius deck and the Griffin deck. That isn't noticeable to my naked eye. The drip tip on the griffin is non existent even though you can replace it with something else. I don't feel the juice control is very smooth. It is a little hard to turn as well is the air flow control. I feel QC on the Crius is better minus the insulator. The hex key that comes with the Griffin seemed to be smaller then the grub screws on the deck. I had to use my Wotofo key which isn't a big deal. Also the channels for the wick are smaller then the Crius. That could be speculation but it was harder to stuff cotton in there. Very lttle room to wick. I'm not saying the Crius is perfect because it has faults to but in my opinion this tank is really not much of a upgrade over the Crius besides a little bit bigger deck and top fill instead of the side fill on the Crius. I know Mike Vapes and TVC raved on this thing but I really don't care what 2 youtube tools say. When I watch a video and notice in the corner it says I do this for free please feel free to donate by clicking here that just makes me sick.

Thanks for the rundown. I agree with you about the YouTube reviewers, I watch the videos just to get a look at the devices and take everything said with a grain of salt. I think I'm going to hold off for "the next big thing" which should be coming out once a week for the next year again lol.

You may like this tank though. Just because I don't like it doesn't mean another person won't like it. I guess it depends on your needs and style of vaping. I like having more juice then 3.5ml. Running dual coils already eats a good bit of juice so the griffin with 2 24g claptons was drinking it quickly.

I got one at my local B&M. Rocking a 12 wrap 24 gauge on a 2.5mm bit clocking about 0.46 ohms. It is a good vape but not mind blowing. Flavor and vapor production about the same as aromamizer. Build deck is very easy. Juice control confuses me sometimes so I need to fiddle with it before I get it lined up perfect and all 4 holes start to wick. Air flow is good. Top fill is awesome. I find it hard to get the deck apart from the tank because of the juice flow sometimes it will just turn and turn so I carefully use a set of channel locks to hold it. It will have condensation/very fine mist come out of the air flow holes but I have not had a bonafide leak. I have been wicking just a little bit of cotton showing below that ring and it seems to work well. Some other builds I have tried:

24 gauge 8 wrap on a 2mm
Twisted 26 gauge 6 wrap on a 3mm
26 guage 9 wrap on a 3mm

my verdict - glad I tried it but quest for perfect RTA still unfinished for me. I will keep it loaded up and built for sure but I will still keep watching the latest and greatest RTAs that come out.

Yea, Im on the same boat, "the quest for the perfect RTA" Love my goblin and goliath, but no top fill, and the small deck sucks sometimes. Just ordered the griffin, and held off on the crius (due to the issues I read on this thread). So vodoo, what type of build do you recommend for flavor on this tank?

24 gauge 8 wrap on a 2mm
Twisted 26 gauge 6 wrap on a 3mm
26 guage 9 wrap on a 3mm

Can you chain vape it without any dry hits, or is it like the reviewer said, you have to wait in between puffs. Still thinking about getting the crius. Does anyone here prefer the Crius over the Griffin? Jstrong? If so why?

So far the best flavor has been the 24 gauge 8 wrap on a 2mm with a close second the 24 gauge 12 wrap on a 2.5mm. You can take about 3 good solid hits on the 8 wrap and you can do about 5 solid hits on the 12 wrap somewhere in the 60 - 65 watt range before it will get behind a bit. That is chain vaping those hits. If you pause 5 to 10 seconds or more in between it will keep up better and you can chain the whole tank more or less. Soon as I go over 70 it is down to one shorter hit with a little bit of a pause. Any lung punching at 70 watts or higher has been a dry hit for me on those builds which makes sense because it is not that type of atty anyways. After a long session last night using both the Griffin and the Aromamizer with similar builds I am giving a slight nod to Aromamizer. Seems to wick better and I can take massive hits with no dry hits at all. Flavor probably to close to call. Air flow and filling are definite wins for Griffin though. Hope that helps.

I could not chain vape it at 60. On my Crius I can chain vape at 60 no problems. The only gripe I have with my Crius is very small amounts of condensation in the tank and I have no leaks. My Crius does not have a cracked insulator. It is hit or miss but Wetvapes will give you another one if it has cracks. I don't have the Aromamizer because it isn't top fill. I wanna try it though. I just grabbed a Wotofo Serpent since I keep hearing how great it is for a single coil. If it is anything like my Sapor it will be a great tank. To be honest having both the Griffin and Crius I can't say the Griffin is better then the Crius. The Crius has smother juice control and is easier for me to get apart. I sold one of my Griffins and the other one I threw it in the trash. The screws were really easy to strip and round out on the deck. I find it easier to fill my Crius then the Griffin. The Griffin top fill was a little hard to turn. If I had to throw in another RTA to compare I would give the nod to the Goblin Mini on flavor with the Griffin. The Goblin can be hard to wick but once you get it wicked right it is a great little RTA. Right now I have 24G 2MM claptons on my Crius at .22 ohms and chain vaping away at 65 watts no problem. My Griffin just can't keep up with my Crius.

I am awaiting the Crius V4 to come out with a bigger deck and a different insulator if that happens. If you have a Crius, Aromamizer, Goblin or whatever and you are happy with it and don't need to build bigger then I see no reason to get the Griffin unless you just want a bigger deck (size queen) Perhaps a Aromamizer V2 will come out with top fill and then I will hop on the Aromamizer train.

I just got mine in today from Vapor Tek. The hex wrench does need to be a little bit bigger, But my hex screws screw all the way in before I notice the looseness. I have dual 7 wraps with a 3mm coil and I absolutely love it no dry hits chain vaping at 75 watts with rayon. No dry hits nothing but too much vapor for me:ohmy::ohmy: I'm turning it down to 55 watts. Much better. Like I said chain hitting at 55 watts and it is very dense warm vapor and I'm truly happy with it. If people are having problems with dry hits. I think there could be several reasons:

1: Too much cotton.
2: The coils are too small. I'm using 3mm 28 gauge 7 wraps with space to spare.
3: Rayon works better for me in this and my Bellus.
4: Juice control is not all the way open.
5: I'm using 50/50 juice on my tests.

My juice flow is not stiff after my juice got in it and everything looks perfect. Except the screwdriver is a little small when it is tightened all the way :)

These are my first observations: It chucks, it wicks, no ceramic insulator, it flavor chases really well and it looks realy nice on my Dna 200 Realeaux :D :2c::2c:

I love following @roxynoodle she has the goods when it comes to affordable, killer RTA's :)

Further note:
Chain Vaped it at 75 watts. Way WAY to warm for my taste and dizzying vapor, but still no dry hits! I do have the airflow 2/3 off though. I'm a flavor chaser :) This has top notch flavor IMHO :D :D

Good Idea as some are having troubles wicking and I have rayon I will try it first.....

Skin_e1 what wire and what ohms are you at if i may ask? I have lots of new wire coming in to play. SS and dual claption is going to be fun to play with. I agree .3id so there is lots of juice in the wick. I am not to worried about chain vaping as i never do it anyway. Edit and how long are your wicks? Thanks!!

I got mine yesterday and I give it a 4.5 out of 5 (and I don't give points easily). I think this will be one of my most used tanks!

Appreciate the pictures. Still waiting on mine, which should be here tmrw. Why only 4.5?? Can you list the pros and cons? Don't know if I made the right choice between the Griffin or the Crius V3. On a mission to find an RTA that performs like an RDA. Hope this is it.

Oh, how does it perform with that build? Flavor, clouds, any dry hits.? Cant wait till it gets here. Any issues with machine oil, want to try right of the package. I know its a good habit to wash it first, but when I got my UD Goblin and Goliath, took the risk and no machine oil whats so ever...
