Hopefully get mine tomorrow, been using my Aromamizer for a few weeks and love it but boy is it ugly. Griffin looks nice (mine in black) so if it performs at least as well as the Romy I'll be happy

Ok so I don't know if anyone else has experienced this with his Griffin RTA but the allen screws are totally garbage. Yesterday I wanted to rewick my Griffin for the second time and two of the 4 allen screws got stuck in the post becuase they were so scratchy. I have never seen this before with any RDA/RTA which comes with allen screws, so I tried almost everything. I used a Torx because this screw driver sometimes does a pretty good job when it comes to scratchy allens but it didn't seem to work this time.
Last but not least I tried it with superglue - that's where I decided not to use this tank anymore - but with no effort. Well if I am honest I didn't like this RTA at all. I mostly use 70VG/30PG or 80VG/20PG juice in my tanks and because of this large build deck and only this small gap between the glass and the chimney, I always got dry hits after the third puff because the tank didn't come up with the thick juice. Glad it was only 30€ (~35 bucks).

Got both of mine today omw to work. I tossed 2 premade claptons in, wicked it with rayon, and flood city. I haven't got the hang of wicking tanks with rayon yet. So I rewicked it with cotton and all is well. Nice flavor and vapor production. To early to say if this is the rta that will retire my Billow v2 arsenal. But it's definitely a contender. The only 2 negatives I have discovered so far is the amount of juice it holds and the annoying whistling. Other than that, I'm loving it.

Also got mine today and just got time to build it. Dual fused Claptons 26/36 n80/SS304. Wicked with rayon and flavor city. This has overtaken my Aromamizer as my go to tank. And I had the 3ml Aromamizer so the capacity doesn't bother me, especially with super easy top fill!
Seen a lot of complaints about the grub nuts on this. It's not just this tank tho, I see it a lot with the velocity decks (not saying this RTA doesn't genuinely have crappy screws, just saying I see it a lot with this style deck in general.)
As far as wicking, now you've scared me. Mine should be here Saturday and I just whipped up a batch of 90VG juice lol. Are you jamming the cotton down the channels? From what I've seen, you don't wanna do that - just want the cotton tails to be barely sit in the tops of the channels. In any case, I'll report back on Saturday and let you know how it goes for my thicker juice.
how do you wick it properly? so no dry hits and no vapour disappearing because its not wicking fast enough in TC modes/dry hit in wattage mode? using the milkman juice atm the 99%VG one, gonna be smoking neapolitan my man from one hit wonder after im done with the milkman, thats 80vg 20pg so it might wick better but i dunno
do you space ss for TC builds or can you do contact coils like with titanium? why can't i push the watts steam engine recommends without scorching it? is a 24g or a twisted 28g work better for flavour? i wish i had seen the clone earlier, got an authentic for 49.99+tax=52.50 CDN... got a crius v3 clone and a goblin mini clone at my parents and a haze clone on the way. after breaking my bellus and UD wanting to charge me 30US for shipping the plug in deck i was never gonna buy an authentic again but i had been looking for 2 months with no luck, wish they would sell grub nuts

My experience is exactly the opposite. This thing wicks like there's no tomorrow. Right now I'm running dual 6 wrap claptons (26g/32g) with a ginormous 3.5mm inner diameter. Running at 95w pumps out intense flavor and vapor and I've chained it fairly hard core and it doesn't go dry at all.
Just using JOC (scottish roll) snipped off and tucked down in behind the ring. The Griffin has definitely become my all time favorite tank, and I've got a ton... Prior I'd say my Aromamizer and Mutank were my favs but this has just killed them for me.
What I'm trying to figure out, is with the "hate", is it some sort of design thing? i.e. Certain tanks just have some sort of flaw, like a slight manufacturing variation that causes this? Or is it just that us lovers have a certain knack or something in particular we're doing that works? Or vice versa that the haters just have a certain way of doing things that doesn't? It's very curious to me.

I'm running 75vg DIY juice in mine and haven't had a single leaking/dry hit issue in the 12 hours and 6 tank-fuls since it's been in my possession. I've had mine for 5 weeks or so, and haven't had any issues. I had some diy juice in it, and now it has ITC Nilla Gorilla.
I just chucked some NiFe coils in it, chainvaped it like a champ for 15 minutes and had to stop as I was fogging the room up. No wicking problems whatsoever.
That's exactly my point... and I'm running my DIY at 25/75 btw. This is hands down the best RTA I've ever laid my hands on. Amazing flavor, incredible build deck, etc... It's why I'm so baffled by those having problems. I'm not judging or slamming them, I actually feel bad for them because if we could just figure out what they were doing causing issues they no doubt would love it as well.
I've had mine a few days now and I did experience a little bit of leaking, but knew what the issue was. I had taken off the wick retaining ring and figured that when I screwed the base in the chimney, it was moving the wick in the channel. I replaced the ring, adjusted the wick(joc) and simple as that, leaking was gone.
I have the tails about half to third of the way in the channel and have had zero wicking issues, no dry hits etc. Most of my juice is 70%-80% VG, wicking is just fine. In my experience, I think higher VG would be just fine, especially once the tank warms up.
Really, the only con I have so far is that the fitting on my tank is really tight. I'm sure with more use it will be easier to take apart, but I would have liked to see some knurling/grooves to make the top cap easier to remove.

@Agent75 I generally shoot for the same thing, but I've found it really doesn't seem to make any difference. So any more I just cut them and stuff them down in there. As long as they aren't sticking out of the channels (which I think might have the potential of snagging on the JC holes) I let them ride. Performance always seem to be great regardless...
Is there anywhere that has glass drip tips the same size as the included delrin tip?
Good question! I haven't found any drip tips the correct size. The included tip is just too damn stumpy for my liking!
