Is there any trick to getting a mesh wick to wick faster? I played with the line for about a week but eventualy just got frustrated and it's just been sitting here. I finally got a good 2.8ohm coil. It shorts occassionally and I have to adjust it but, it's been working okay. It just doesn't seem to give me nearly the amount of vapor, flavor, or throat hit that I expected. Seems that it's running on the verge of being dry, kinda like that last hit you take and say "oh, now I gotta drip a few more." I have tried hollow wicks and solid wicks and for me so far the solid wick works better but it's still just not right. I do love the look of the line on my Darwin and I desperately want to get this to perform like my old standard, dripping.

Okay, Just checked it again I have 6 wraps on one side and 7 on the other and my darwin only shows 2.4 ohms now. Doesn't appear to be shorting and the whole coils seems to be heating evenly. To me, 2.4 ohms seems way too low for that many wraps. It's 32 awg btw.

wow 7 wraps and only 2.4 Ohm, are they evenly spaced and not touching?
2.4 should be ideal for the Darwin or VV imo.
I try for 4 wraps and get about 2.0 average, but mine tends to go up each day, say from 1.7 , then 2.0, then 2.5....
I am trying to get a tighter wrap on the mesh now so they may be too loose.

About wicking, I get the same and I tip the juice up to the coil to get it wetter, I also drip on it... seems to work, but then again i am getting some carbon gunking at the bottom of the silver posts.

Excellent job on the setup by RawVeg. The Vid should be on his youtube channel soon if not already.
I got it on VTTV "recent shows"...
Lots of questions answered there if one pays attention.
I learned it takes more preparation in the setup than I have been doing; that's for sure, but well worth it if it's done right.
