I quit smoking for 3 years but started again last year, I want to try to start vaping again to try and quit again (last time I quit cold turkey but this time I am having trouble so will try to at least switch to vaping in the mean time).

I haven't vaped in 4-5 years, what is the best vaping device out there (good smoke output, battery life, eliquid flavor options, etc), and what is a reliable website to order things from? Looking to spend around $200-250 for everything.

How did you used to vape? Hardware is a lot different today with a wide selection, and cost is not necessarily the best measurement of a solid setup. Most smokers typically want something that will mimic the tight mouth to lung draw as a cigarette, others prefer a looser draw and more cloud although that's not always the best choice to start out with.

Do you remember what types of juices you liked 5 years ago? They may or may not still be available, but will at least give an idea of your taste preferences.

All excellent questions, @Eskie that I didn't even think to ask before pushing my preferences...duh, Chels!

Yes I am looking for something that will feel as close as a cigarette as possible so it will help me stop smoking regular cigarettes. I honestly don't remember the ones I used to own, as for the juice it was literally flavored nicotine (in a polyethyl glycol solution). I was out the other night and saw some people vaping and they had large clouds of smoke coming out, not sure what it was but their e-cigarette looked large (almost like a small cigarette box in size/shape). The other thing was the nicotine dosing, I could vape all day and could feel the effects of having too much nicotine in my body, I was wondering now if you load a cartridge or drip liquid directly on and how easy is it to dose correctly (for example if I put 3 drops, will that produce enough vape for me to smoke it for 6-7 minutes and give me a similar nicotine content as a regular cigarette - so the duration and the amount of nicotine I get I want it to be similar to having a regular cigarette that way I can wean off regular cigarettes).

I am surprised there isn't a poll or voting system someone can link me to with different current e-cigarette models with user ratings (I looked on amazon but it doesn't look like they sell any).

Hard to get user ratings as different features are of different importance to individuals.

OK, to stop smoking and mimic a cigarette, you'll go with something very different than the big mod, big cloud direction. I mean, you could, but it probably won't work as well and be more of a headache than a help. That said, you can start off dead simple and get what you're looking for for far less than your current budget.

The simplest and what I believe more and more for a new vaper (which you sorta are) is to consider a pod mod. They mimic a cigarette, and many can be refilled so you're not tied into expensive pod of juice you through in no time. Affordable, portable, and if you just want plug and play, the way to go. There is a whole pod mod section here that's worth reading through where you will get individual's ratings.

If you want something a bit more flexible than a pod mod, you can get an inexpensive mod for under $50 (under $30 for that matter) which will be more than sufficient for a lower power, mtl setup which mimics a cigarette. The Pico is very popular and requires only one replaceable battery. Only drawback is no tank over 23 mm, which with all the 25 mm tanks coming out might be an issue. The is a new, larger Pico being released which will take a 25 mm deck, but it will be a different build and no idea on quality yet.

Tanks are fairly straightforward. There is the popular Nauti series coil tanks which work really well for mtl use. There is a new Nautilus 2 out which folks sorta like, but I would go with the slightly older Triton mini which uses Nautilus coils and is top fill. Dead simple to use and great performance. Other newer mtl tanks on the market include the Smok Spirals, and a Sense Blazer mini. I'm sure others will pipe up with more options.

As to juice and nic levels, how much are you currently smoking?
