"Exactly, that's what I do anytime I am in a public building. First question is "Where is the bathroom?" "

Wonder if vape will set off smoke detectors. I think the smoke detectors detect small particles so they shouldn't.
But think of the shower things on the roof going off while you're sitting there vaping in the boys room.
Where is my smoke alarm? Time for a test.

As far as I know, typical (updated/newer) smoke detectors are set of by carbon monoxide (usually) Some older detectors (like the 1 I had to get rid of in my apt were set off by heat/reaching a certain temperature) Like anytime I took a shower.

Probably best to just go to your car to vape or smoke or just leave and come back. That is what must people do when they are not allowed to smoke or vape. Its not what we may prefer but its the right thing to do.

Respectfully, I disagree totally. That is how the ANTs win the battle. If it's legal, and not disrespectful the {Moderated} them! It's our right to vape and their right to shut the flock up or cross the damn street.

Sorry, needed to do that

There are different types of smoke detectors.
Some are set off by vaping and others are not.

Phil Busardo can attest to the one in his house going off!
I suppose if there is enough dense vapor in a small room they may go off.
have a ton of books in here so several (3) smoke alarms and vape all the time and have yet to set one off.
But I do remember smoking a cigar (La Unica) about 3 years back and they all went off in unison.

I'll look for busardo's flick on vapor setting off smoke alarms to see what the man has to say.

I don't think a bathroom smoke detector (say in a hotel) would go off. A shower creates a lot of steam. (Just jumped in here.)

Probably not. I was thinking public restrooms. If I was in a hotel I wouldn't have to vape in the bathroom.
(unless it was a no smoking hotel..Haven't seen one of those but then I haven't seen many hotel rooms.)

I was in a hotel just the other day and I just vaped right in the room. I think it is only a problem if 10 or 12 bikers have a big vape contest or something.

I have a portable CO meter/detector and when I got it, the first thing I did was blow ciggie smoke into it and it didn't set it off.
otoh, I went out by the noise barrier wall between my back yard and the expressway and in a certain corner of the yard with not much of a breeze
it did go off. That was 5 years back, The apparatus cost me $80 and was part of a plan to sue the FDOT but there wasn't enough CO in the atmosphere past federal limits to justify the demand.

But I did almost pass out once while pulling climbers off the ficus trees in the general area where the meter/detector went off.
That's why I bought the thing.

I dunno, I've seen some stupendous clouds from sub-ohm vapers in vape shops. I couldn't inhale that much vapor without throwing a gasket from the coughing fit that would ensue. :D My husband asked me about it, the first couple times we saw that, in vape shops; I explained it was a very hot coil and usually a great deal of VG. His reaction? "I'm glad yours doesn't do that." Same here!!!! :D

I think 10 or 12 bikers would set the alarms off even if they weren't vaping

the maintenance guys at my new job asked me if I was smoking by the entrance when I was going back outside to go home, I said no, I'm vaping, guess they know what that is but still told me I cant do it at that exit, had to go to the side one, but that's the only harassment if any I got so far since quitting analogs and only vaping

people are just ignorant and quick to pass judgement and lecture, of course you could wave a ak47 while vaping and see if they now tell you no smoking ;)

However if someones in a place that doesn't allow it then they should be the one crossing the street. Not act if there's some right to vape anywhere someone pleases.

But imagine the possibilities, you could hire yourself out as a fog machine and get paid for vaping.

Vaping is a privilege not a right...nah. However, mutual respect is a must.
How can we as vapers expect respect if we don't give respect?
'An it harm none, do what ye will'

Not to say second hand vape would harm others physically, but everybody should have the right to control what they will or won't
breath in.
I can't ethically object to the people smoking by the grocery store entrance if I stand there vaping.
It isn't the same yet it is.
