Someone doesn't like animals, lol.
'
I love animals. 'House of The Rising Sun is one of my favorite songs to listen to while vaping
(keeping this on topic, sort of)

Bet you don't wanna hear about when we electrocuted a white mouse and dissected her in the name of science.
Her name was Grizelda after a Monkees song.
Her sister, Sofie escaped and came back preggo. I ended up selling mice to the pet shop where Griz and Sofie came from.
Now-a-days I'd spend the money on vaping supplies.

I just remembered, I was harassed for vaping today. We went to pick my son up after school. The bus from his junior high
(middle school) leaves him off at his former elementary. The bus was late and I was sitting there vaping
maple pecan juice having run out of my home made butter pecan earlier (you Canadians thought I was kidding..)
when a teacher walked up and told me I couldn't vape there, in my wife's car, on the street outside the school.

"Why not" I asked the elderly matron. She said, "Because you're not supposed to use drugs within 1000 feet of a school, it gives children a bad example."

Really! My wife told me to chill 'cause she usually picks my son up and doesn't want any trouble
so I bit my tongue and complied. Finally the new bus driver showed up and I fired up the VAMO but I wasn't happy about
having had to bite my tongue.
A teacher no less. The ignorance! The nerve!

Indeed. I read someplace in one of those conspiracy forums I'm so fond of that Big Brother was planning just that.
I actually made a working model of one when I was a kid. It worked! I used a razor blade with a fishing lead on it
and decapitated several lizards.
I'm sorry about that now. Especially every time I see an iguana staring at me...

Hazy the Lizard Executioner

Don't feel too bad; my cat exterminates every lizard she sees, and then eats it. After she plays with it for a couple hours. :D I'm sure your mini-guillotine was far more merciful. :D

See what I mean about cats and bufos. Some lizards wreak haboc on kitty cats too, but not as bad as the bufo toads.
And really, it was done in the name of science just like the mouse was.
We (my other 9 and 10 year old Space Science and Chemistry Club member buds) figured it was a merciful way to kill
the lizards prior to dissecting them with the neat'o dissecting kit I got at the Museum of Science and Planetarium.

We dissected a live lizard once to see it's heart beating. It died. :(

Grizelda got electrocuted because we didn't want to hurt her..
It was phun to see her little body jump around every time we plugged her in.
It was very educational. We learned that muscles are controlled by electric energy.

This was just the scientist phase. The rest of my childhood was rather common.
We watched Jumping Jack's Four o'Clock Show, The Mickey Mouse Show, went to monster movie matinées,
& Elvis Presley flicks, played stick ball on the street, all that stuff.
Edited 'cause I forgot 'Leave it To Beaver'.
I love OTR & OTTV, The Shadow Knows

I'm not a monster...

Sure Mike but I wasn't talking about anybody's inalienable right to not be annoyed,
I was referring, as alluded to by mentioning the "under god" part, to ethical behavior.

Yes, the law doesn't necessarily state that people have a right to not be annoyed,
but civility demands that we observe certain ethical guidelines in order to be able to live with each other.
Moreover, if you as a vaper, crap on the people who would prefer not to have to deal with your vapor, you're creating negative public relations for the rest of us vapers and encouraging people to lobby for laws restricting vaping.

Surely you're familiar with the expression, "Two wrongs don't make a right".
The other guy has as much a right to breath his choice of air as you have a right to inhale vapor.
Whether the vapor is harmless or not is actually irrelevant as is whether we have a right to vape, or smoke wherever.
The point is that as human beings we can choose to cut each other some slack or not.
When we don't we get what we give.

I hear what you're saying (I really do) but the right of someone to "breath his choice of air" should stop the moment they can choose to move away.

You mention that I have the right to breath my choice of air. If that was true then I could ask all my neighbors to stop using their cars or fumigating their yards close to my "choice of air", but I can't because they drive their cars in public space and because I just don't own the air I breath. If I want to cycle everywhere to avoid creating more air pollution I can do so, but I definetely can't force other to do as I do.

Listen, I get what you're saying. I believe that common courtesy is the way to go, as do you. If I were to vape in a bar that either doesnt allow vaping or hasn't given me permission to do so, I'm a jerk. If were to do the same thing in a place where it's allowed, and someone gets in my face, they're the jerk. Finally, if a person asks me POLITELY to stop in an enclosed space, or asks me to move in a public space because of a legitimate concern I will do so - regardless of my rights or permission to vape there as it's (again) common courtesy. On the flip side, if someone comes to chastize me for my choices or to try to school me with the latest bogus media-mind-control stupidity I will unpolitely ask them to sod off. I see vaping harrasment as idiotic as racism, classism, sexism, any other whateverism that applies... And I won't stand for it.

I get it sometimes, mostly from random snooty people. Im never rude about it, i puff away from people and never blow it near anyone. But random snooty ladies usually wave their hands around batting at clouds that havent gone anywhere near them. I just apologize and move further away.

I do too. I'm very polite and considerate. I really didn't think that vaping in front of the school would be such a sin, but..
Thing is that it was 4:15 PM, there were no kids in sight since the elementary kids get off at 3. The woman just needed to give somebody a hard time and probably thinks vaping is evil.

Hey Kaleoke, pleasure to meet you, bra.
You just reminded me of my old cats, Akua and Amakua.
Think I'll go to youtube and listen to IZ a bit.

Aloha!

The only lizards around here are tiny little garden lizards, some with bright blue tails. The only poisonous critters around here are snakes (always gotta look out for copperheads; had a copperhead baby on the driveway last summer), and spiders -- black widows AND brown recluses. Thankfully there are no bodies of water around here, so no worries about cottonmouths (and the mosquitoes aren't terrible, just the usual annoyance at dusk in the summer). I think the only reason for the snake problem is that we live quite near train-tracks, and the right-of-way area is heavily wooded; I think that's also why we have the owl problem.

On the up-side, there are also a lot of mourning doves, and their cooing is pleasant, early in the morning.

I agree with you, bud. But you're making a conditional variable that wasn't part of the argument.
In a space that isn't enclosed the other guy can move away.
In some areas, like the entrance to a supermarket or a bodega the other guy has to breathe your vapor or smoke
if he wants to go inside. It's not an enclosed space, but he has the right to not have breathe our stuff.

I remember having just quit smoking and a security person, an off duty police woman working as a guard at Publix Supermarket
hanging out by the entrance chain smoking. There was a cloud of ciggie smoke where everybody had to pass.
I needed the groceries. I had a 10 year old son at the time and was there to buy leche.
Why did I have to suffer because of her lack of consideration?
See what I'm talking about? Nobody here is more radical, well maybe a couple of people, and determined to protect our right to vape.
But in order to do so we must respect the other guy's right to breathe.

Look, you're in Panama so I'll assume you've heard this:
"Respeta para que te respeten". (Give respect so that you'll be respected)

Good to hear, but I actually do like lizards. It's those reptilians I'm weary of...
I almost envy you for your environment, Andria.
We need to get out of the big silly soon or I'll go ballistic.

Our new colleague from Hawaii made me want to go watch/listen to IZ.
He was a real cool guy for a BIG fella, and he had hair

Check him out when you can spare the bandwidth.
Catch you tomorrow, Good Nite

About 10 miles north of here, away from the "city" (Lawrenceville -- it's quite a good sized town about 25 miles NE of Atlanta) proper, we lived in a slightly older neighborhood, very wooded, and the trees were ALL massive hardwoods; we saw golden eagles several times, and once, out smoking on the carport, I looked up from my book and saw a massive 10-pt buck regarding me quite calmly from the front yard. This guy was the real deal; MASSIVE chest and shoulders; any hunter would have been DELIGHTED with him, and it was even hunting season. Of course my slightest movement sent him bounding away back into the trees. :D

Now we're about 2 miles from the very center of L'ville, so it's really kind of astonishing to see those humongous owls around here.

I've been known to throw somebody out a window..of course we were on the ground floor at the time, unfortunately.
Other things have been thrown out by me. I sometimes threaten to toss my kid's mac out the window
but it cost too much $$$ so instead I make him mow the lawn

I tend to reserve the word "suffer" for more serious situations. Take a look around. Something's just ain't no big deal in comparison.
