It's now my third day on the vaping and I'm getting heart palpitations, just started getting them 30 minutes ago and it's been going non stop. I suspect it's because I'm using 18mg while drinking coffee. I drink up to 8 cups of coffee per day. I love both my coffee and 18mg liquid... so is there anyway around this? I've only received heart palpitations very rarely and for very short amount of time maybe two or three minutes when I was smoking analogues :(

Have you ever had heart palpitations from vaping?
Is there anyway around this?

I'm the queen of heart palpitations. Had surgery for it too. If you're not careful and choose to ignore , it may continue without stopping. In that case, you would need to see a dr.

#1 rule: listen to what your body/heart is telling you. Caffeine, nicotine and dehydration are the worse offendors, when it comes to this.

Lower your nicotine dose
Switch to de-caff
Drink lots of water
rest and try to calm down.

Are you on anything else that could be hyping you up? Cold meds?

Concur, concur, concur!!!!!

I have them as well and for me they are directly proportional to the amount of water I drink.

If you don't have to pee, then you are not drinking enough water!!!!!

See a doctor in any case.

Do you know if heart palpitations are life threatening? Got me a little worried when you mention surgery

Yes I have,:)
I started on 16mg & within a couple of days had to drop to 12mg as my head was just flying round & my heart was racing.
I did see the doctor who advised to lower my nicotine level (he's very pro vaping)
Most likely you are getting too much nicotine & added to the amount of caffeine, you are getting a cocktail of stimulants.

I read somewhere on here that we metabolize caffeine differently when we stop smoking,(if I remember rightly,)so perhaps cut back on the coffee to see if that helps.
I know when I quit I actually went off coffee & could only manage 1 cup in the morning, where normally I drank 2

Usual disclaimer; I'm not a doctor so if your'e worried go see yours
Good luck & congrats on switching:thumb:

Edit to add:
Heavens there has been seven posts since I started writing mine (1 finger typing :D) my reply was to OP

Heart palpitations are only life threatening if they are continuous or a result of a life threatening arrhythmia. Cut down on the stimulants, drink lots of water, if it goes away then you are just over doing it and it probably isn't something that requires surgery.

I have constant tachycardia (fast heart rate) that I have to take daily meds for to slow it down. Back when I use to drink lots of caffeinated drinks I had issues with it. Even my meds wouldn't work. Especially Mountain Dew, that stuff makes me feel terrible and makes my pulse skyrocket to 130-140. When I used 16mg nic on my e-cig, it would also affect my heart rate if I chained vaped. BOTH are stimulants and have effects on heart rate, so you are basically doing a double whammy with both excessive caffeine consumption and a higher nic juice.

Keep lowering your nic in your juice (I only use 4mg now, took me a year to get there), lower caffeine consumption, and drink water. You'll do your heart a favor!

I was just like you before surgery! They were able to get my standing heart rate way down. I had a thing for MD too. Back in high school I would drink a 6pk per day:blink:

^ What they all said.

Also try substituting tea for some of the coffee, it doesn't have so much caffeine in. But drink light/medium tea not builder's tea* of course.

(* Brit. slang for tea so strong the spoon stands up in it)

Make sure to get enough exercise - just sitting around and consuming stimulants is a mug's game.
