Hi all,

First off, thanks to everyone for posting and providing so much useful and wonderful information. For a new person, may I admit, there is almost too much information. Therefore, I've got a couple questions and quite certain some folks here will be able to answer.

Allow me to give a little background. I've been a social smoker for about 18 years. Now, I normally only smoke analogs about one weekend a month when I get together with a few friends. Well, one of my friends now has a son who was born premature and another on the way. Both of us would like to get off analogs completely.

Based on the information here, I am thinking of getting an eGo mega or eGo - T kit.

So, guess my questions revolve around what is the best route to go to get started for two people?

Should we both get an entire starter kit, or would getting 1 kit, plus a couple additional accessories work well? Would it be possible to get a single kit and share it for a weekend to test it out? If the latter, what kit and accessories would you recommend? Where would you recommend ordering from?

Thanks all for any info you can share.

Hi :)

To be honest, I don't think you need such a big battery e-cig to start with. Truthfully, the smaller ones are more easy to use and carry around. We usually end up recommending the bigger ones simply because most of the people who come here for help smoke at least a pack a day.

In your case, I would recommend a KR808d-1 kit from vapor4life. It's simple, easy to use, less hassle, no mess, no fuss... just screw on the cartomizer (the part that looks like a cig filter) and vape away. Each battery will last a moderate to heavy smoker about 3-4 hours (sometimes more) so if you are just a social smoker it will be plenty, just bring both batteries when you go out.

I don't know your friends smoking habits, but you'll want two separate kits either way. If your friend smokes more than 1/2 a pack per day then they may want either an eGo kit (like we're always talking about) or a Pigcig (from Lecig) which is the big battery version of the kr808d-1.

Good luck! :)

Perhaps I should provide a little more info.

My friend smokes between 1/2 to 1 pack a day. He goes through a carton of cigs every 2 weeks.

When we get together, we do so to spend a weekend playing D&D, yes, Dungeons & Dragons. And yes I know I'm a geek and I'm okay with it ;-) So, over those weekends I tend to smoke about a pack a day. Not sure if that would change anyone's opinions or not.

Thanks again, Ope

NOt really. Just my opinion, but you don't need a huge battery -- not that there's anything wrong with getting one if you like the look. Many new vapers don't want to start out with the bigger battery ones but should do it anyway, in your case you don't have to if you don't want to.

Your friend needs a bigger battery one though for sure.

You should each get your own kits though, each e-cig will take a couple of hours to recharge and you don't want both your batts to die at the same time... which of you is willing to wait 4 hours for his e-cig to be ready again?

If you like the look of the bigger battery ones, you would do well with the eGo-T tank systems.

At PrimeVapor they have a kit for two people. It is a KR808-1. You can get menthol or reg or mix. It might be a good way to go with both of you starting out. You can always go back and order a extra charger or pass through. I have had good experiences with them and customer service is great. They have shipped quickly, it took only 4 days to get my kit.

I think you're on the right idea with the eGo/eGo-T. They last a lot longer than the cigarette style units per charge. Everyone I know who starts with the smaller ones always end up upgrading :) YMMV.

As for starting, I'd start with a single starter kit to share and try it out. If you like it, you can always order a second kit!

My wife used my 2nd battery and atty for a day before she decided she wanted one of her own. I ordered a second kit for her that minute.

Thanks for all the info so far folks. I really appreciate it.

Hey emanguba. Yes, we do smoke while we game. Well, sort of. Now that we are playing at my place, we step outside. By USB passthrough, I assume this powers the PV while plugged into a USB port on a computer correct? If so, even while playing that will be difficult since no PC at the table. By D&D, I'm talking old school pencil and paper, no computers. Looking forward to being able to vape inside while playing. It would eliminate the need to step outside and interrupt our game, which would be great. So many benefits.

Ah, gotcha, thought you gamed D&D online...

Any basic kit will do, it's all a matter of preference...if you're still weary, try the classifieds on here.

Here's the latest sale: eGo kit for $40 + free shipping

This was taken from the Deals and Steals thread.

Then, all you need is juice.

Personally, I would just get samplers for now until you and your friend find what you guys likes.

Or you can always DIY to save $$.

My husband and I smoked at least a pack a day and bought the electronic cigarettes that they sell in our local mall here in SC. We have not had a cigarette in 20 days. The ones we bought were probably the worst ones out there, they leaked, batteries died in no time, atomizers died...but they did take the edge off and kept us away from the real ones. After doing some research on this awesome site, we bought the ego. Cignot is a vendor on here and they sell a kit that comes with two complete sets for the price of one. I also bought the ego-t atomizer and a package of tanks for it. I am using the ego and my husband is using the tank set up - we both LOVE it and have to say its worlds away from the little e-cigarettes that we were using. Check out Cignot's site and e-mail Vicki there if you have any questions - she is extremely helpful! Best of luck to you!!!
