Getting the Prodigy through airport security

I plan to fly cross-country in a couple weeks, and would love to bring my Prodigy along. However, it is bound to arouse much more suspicion than my traditional pen-styles or minis would. Any suggestions on what to tell the TSA people? I would be willing to say it's a "personal pleasure device" and leave it to their imaginations, if that's what it'd take.

They probably wouldn't know what to think, and if they have the impression that it's a medical need, that might just be the ticket.

I'm doing the same thing in a few weeks. I plan to pack it in my luggage and not deal with the carry on security issue. The less you can carry on the less trouble you will have.

I'd imagine so, I made it through Dulles (security at Dulles is argh) carrying my 901 around in my pocket and dumping it into the bin through security.

Looks like you are our guinea pig, tee hee. Though, I really feel it will be no problem. I have taken 2 Screwdrivers in my carry on backpack just a couple of months ago to Hawaii. Not a question, and several checkpoints. I believe all will go well for you too.

Good point. It's just that after experiencing the Prodigy, it's hard to go back to the "regular" stuff.

But, based on other reports here, it appears that's the safest option. I'll probably chicken out and leave the Prodigy at home.

Take it with you but have a prepaid USPS priority mail padded envelope with you in your bag. If you have any hassle from the " Thugs Standing Around " group, just ask to back out of the line so you can mail your Prodigy back home, they have mailboxes at the airports for this very thing, it'll be waiting for ya when you get home.

What we need is an LED flashlight adapter, should be easier to explain what a flashlight is to airport security.

If you have any hassle from the " Thugs Standing Around " group, just ask to back out of the line so you can mail your Prodigy back home, they have mailboxes at the airports for this very thing, it'll be waiting for ya when you get home.

Very good idea! But I would need two -- one for the "to" trip, and one for the "from" trip, just in case. I will seriously do this, and bring along my wimpy pen-styles as backup.

I did this going to NY last month with a Light Vaper with no issues.

Prodigy puts out too much vapor to easily vape on the plane... I would bring a 901 for the ride.

Good idea pinepig.. I used to do that for my work stuff that "might not make it" through security.

That's true, and it's pretty conspicuous compared to the smaller models. You can't ignore a Prodigy! But there's always the restroom, right? I mean, if I blew the vapor downward.... And even if the alarm did go off, there'd be no smoke or smoke smell, so they'd have to assume it was malfunctioning -- right?
