hey guys my loving ol lady got me a stealth and i ordered us some Odysseus's for our new tank set up. i have used the stealth for a about 2 hours then went back to my provari as all i have are 3 ohm cartos and the vape was very very weak. im about to get the odysseus's cleaned and polished and try my hand at the first rebuildable iv ever messed with. i know im going to want to clean the ody and they seem to need a polishing. what is the best way to clean them and also polish them before use? i do have some yellow and white cut and buff i used to polish my provari around the apt. will that work or should i use something else? also whats going to be the best way to clean them before i try my hand at making coils and all this fun stuff? thanks yall

I barely polish my stainless steel GG parts, Maybe once a month if that. I keep a bunch of microfiber cloths around to wipe them down.

If I do I use mothers mag polish on all my GG items and it works great. I don't use a lot, a tiny bit will go a long way. I always polish in a circular motion too not in straight lines.

You can use dish soap and hot water to clean the items. Make sure all the soap is gone before putting together and vaping.

thanks sir. the ody all look like that have a "stain" in the tube pieces so i figured a good polishing would take care of that and i can tell theres still some metal shavings on them all. im about to go on the hunt for some kinda polish after getting food for the ol lady. is flitz better as iv read alot use that after making this post.

thank your for the welcome rick.
well after going through every video i can find a few times im still not getting what i think i should be. im cutting about 2 inches of res wire and then 2 two inch nr wire.then im twisting the no res around each end of the res wire and making the coil tight on the wick. when i take a mm to it im getting 1.7 ohms and at 3.9v im getting very little vapor. do i need to make the coil loose around the wick or tight?

Here is how I make my coils, except I don't wrap the NR wires around the wick anymore ;) but this is a good photo of what it should look like. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/gg/220458-my-current-iatty-coil-close-up.html

It's an iAtty thread, but the coil making is the same. (minus the extra wraps of NR wire)

edited to add: The second picture, of the coil on the safety pin, looks like how I make them now, I no longer use crimp beads, much easier to just twist! the second photo is acurate to what my coils look like now, the first photo shows how closely I space my coils ;)

thanks rick,
i just looked at it and i think im making the coil way to tight. after wrapping the coil it looks like this =/=/=/=/= if that makes sense. you can see the wick bump up and down between the coils.once i empty the juice iv got in it im going to try to make a set up with a needle inside the wick to keep from making the coil too tight. also im getting a some what soapy taste. is that the wick? if so any way to get rid of it

try using a straight pin, there is such a thing as too tight ;) it should be tight, but not restricting the wick. Putting the pin in will help!

The ceramic wicks, have a "different" flavor in the beginning. I didn't get a soapy taste, but I did notice a similar flavor in unhardened nextel. I think it's the nature of unhardened ceramics. It should go away pretty quick (at least in my experience)

Just a random question, and somewhat unrelated but, when you eat cilantro, does it taste soapy to you?

Since your making 3 ohm coils, 34 ga resistance wire will use less wire for that coil. 36 ga would use even less wire per coil. The coil should have consistent coils across the surface of the wick. If you haven't thrown all of your coil attempts away, the wire can be used again and again no problem. When the wick looks like it needs to be replaced, I use the same coil over and over until it breaks before making a new one, the consistency is in the coil. I have been a 6 volt fanatic for a long time but when the Stealth came out I started tuning my coil to 3.7 volt and 1.2 ohms (around 12 amps is preferred) to 1.4 ohms is just right at 3.7 volts, a tenth of a volt is enough to change your vaping experience.
I'm not sure if the Provari will let you go over 10 amps before it stops the process. Your Stealth should produce just fine at higher amps.

Well after using up almost all the wire trying to figure out how to make said ohm I'm lost. Iv read kenthal is a good res wire but what gauge is best for what ohm and besides pure silver what's a good no res wire and gauge. I vape mainly at the 2.5-3 ohm range

I have only been using the provari as iv never made coils before and figured it would be easy to not get frustrated with making the wrong ohms. After I get it figured out I plan to move the ody over the the stealth at 3.7. I found some 32 gauge kenthal a1 cheap. Would that be a good res wire to learn all this on? Also what about the no res wire?is it better to have more coils or less? All the attempts I made about 6 coils on the wick
