Hahahaa this make me laugh loads!!!

I knew about this problem from the start so whenever the GG is put down it is on wood or in its special bag :) Its also got the 3.7 volt with protected battery, the CR2s for 6 volt really need to be protected cells, the GG can't take care of them to prevent short circuit or over discharge nor can the chinese charger prevent overcharge :( I hope Transformer can have 6 volts with protected cells :)

Hi, Tribal,
this lil bunny lives to make you all laugh,
but that was trucks fault, blame it all on him ---- ha ha ---
he started it, honest he did --- he did ---
did not -- did too -- did not --- did too ------
lol.gif

Yes, with a lot of the mods, and with our GG,
you have to be careful whaere you put it down,
all these cigs with buttons have to be carefully tended,
and even more carefully rested,
it is not only the GG, ----
the buttons on all of them
can cause problems if they are continually depressed ------

GG Button = " ooooooh, aaaaaah, I am so depressed,
all the time, ------
everyone is always depressing me !!! -------- "
lol.gif

I agree with you Tribal, the protected batts are the best,
and the transformer will have a choice of so many different batts
for all the different, modes, ----
it will be interesting to see if we can get them all in protected states,

bunny rushes off to google for protected batts,
soo many batts, so little time,
so different prices.
only one creditcard ---- CHAAAAAAAAARGE IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT !!!!!

But this isn't a problem with the button being pressed accidentally. I realise that all e-cigs carry some risk but which other mods will fire up just by being in contact with something metal? It's a safety hazard and a design flaw that I haven't seen on any other models.

Ok, i am convinced and i made my decision to go with GG-T over prodigy. So where do i sign up? And what is ETA for the trans..?
I think he said in a week or two. I believe he stopped making the GG grant and NANO for a while....for the sole production of the GG-T Just a reminder the beautifull GG-T are hand made by one man. But if you want the best patience will be your vertue.:)

Huh thats same design of a mechanical Mod. Would have the SAME "design flaw" yet you say nothing bad there. huh very interesting.

At least with the GG Imeo has warned people of what "could" happen so they take precautions.

Bunny Imeo will be here in the morning. Wanna share??

Hi Truckdrivingmouse,

The switch of the AdapteveR is not grounded the same way as the GG ... The button is made from non-conductive plastic and is recessed, the completion of the circuit takes place inside the switch itself... so unless someone or something holds the switch down it will not misfire...

In Imeo's defense, are we 100% sure that the problem was not a defective battery?

sorry to barge in on the post, just wanted to be clear...

This is actually easily fixed by owner. I went to lowes and found rubber cap that fits over button and round piece on body. covered it and doesn't misfire any longer. I lost atty is 1 day before realizing what was happening.
This is EXACTLY what I was thinking from the get-go. The problem is a relatively easy one and can be alleviated easily. A rubber cap or a type of covering like rubberization will do the job nicely.

I see people are starting blow this out of proportion already. METAL TOUCHING THE SHELL DOES NOT SET IT OFF.

Yes Beanine, you can cover things up, why is every other electrical component on this earth covered? I see where your coming from though. I'm not masking mine. I had mine since April, and have not experienced any of these problems till tested yesterday. Sakis did indeed say something of this issue a while ago and advised to take care.

Thanks whatever, the problem was a bad battery of course. If button touch the case, GG will start working nothing else. It cant explode with good batteries.

If GG starts working, it will burn the atty, it will not explode the batteries. I have already said not to put it in mettalic surfaces but we are humans and we make mistakes.

There are plenty solutions

1) paint GG
2) Put a button from a store
3) paint button
4) make the button plastic
5) dress the GG with insulant material

And the best of all is what I will do to all GG Trans: Anodising, so we avoid touching stuff, we avoid plastic ungly buttons, we avoid painting witch will leave soon.

I thought to make it soft gold, but the colour will leave in some time, exept I make a very hard anodising that will last.

I didnt like to do anodise, but the sircumstanses wants one.

GG is a hand made product so its immortal because I made it that way but has not perfect surface. When I say not perfect I mean that its shiny but very small scratces here and there (they will occur to any product in very small time) exists.
Its something that I cant easily avoid but the new Trans will be almost perfect because anodise will disapear all scratces that have been made by the machine.
Anodise means that GG will scratch again as all metals and products but a little more dificult. I will anodise GG only for insulant purposes. The scratces are something that no one in this earth can avoid.

Yes, you are a very fast worker. Just enjoy this weekend and than work on Transformers. I myself do not like to be rushed. So do not stress yourself over this.
We can wait. Well, I can. I want the Transformer and I can wait.

Thanks sweety for you patience.

But I cant wait, I want things today and if possible now:D

I have been told that I am like that. I start a project and that is no stopping me until its done. I still do not like to be rushed.
I want everyone to leave me alone until I get it done.

My family knows this about me and they run.

What if a rubber cap is stuck on the button? (Says she, not knowing the first thing about electricals  )

I wonder if Superglue would bond rubber to metal, or if a special (therefore costly?) connection would have to be created?

Or could the button be made of Bakelite* or similar? That would involve sourcing... :(

*Sorry, I'm an oldie, I can't think of the modern equivalent's name :D

    scylla

Why not some of the plastic/rubber 'tool dip' stuff? You dip a tool handle in it, let dry, it's now got a plastic/rubbery coating on it once dried?

(The rubber cap idea is fine, too, just some may have the other in their garages already now..and is maybe another option)..or some heat-shrink tubing.
