Okay, I got my GG today. I'll start with the comments and then ... *ahem*

This thing is a monster. I plugged in two 3V CR123a batteries, my 510 adapter and the associated 510 gear, filled her up with some 18mg juice, and let her rip.

*hack* OH MY GOD *wheeze* ... no more 8 second pulls.

After three hits, I almost fell out of my chair (and would have if my laptop stand wasn't beside me to steady myself with). I've never had a nicotine hit like that before, and the throat hit was similar to that of an unfiltered cigarette (just without the heat). Apparently I'm not worthy and I swear I will never use this at over 10mg again, I promise!

Attention readers: if you use this at 6V with 36mg fluid and a 510 atomizer you will probably die unless you used to be a four pack a day unfiltered smoker. Please don't do it! 8-o

That said, I'm in love with the performance of it, and I hope I get my batteries Monday before these disposables run out. Further, the heft of it and the hand fit is virtually perfect. Not to heavy, but not to light ... just has a nice heft. The vapor production wasn't anything to write home about, but then again, the RY4 blend I'm using isn't really a vapor monster anyway. I'm going to try it later tonight with my menthol blend that even on my 901 produces a ridiculous cloud ... I'm sure my GG will fog my room up like a night club in 1 minute flat.

On to the concerns side. First of all, on my unit the button was a bit mangled. It kind of looks like a penny that got run over a few times on a gravel road. Is there anything I can do to straighten out the mangled parts? If I can do that I could probably buff it and it would be great. The second is that when my atomizer/cartridge is on the cap they tilt out at about a five degree angle ... not bad, but noticeable particularly if you roll it on a flat surface. Would it risk unit destruction if I put this thing in a vice and kind of torqued it in the right direction? If so, I won't try it and just live with it (as I mentioned, it is barely noticeable), but if it's safe I'd like to give it a whirl (because perfection deserves perfection, am I right?).

My hat is off to you, Imeo, this is a great device!

Hi Cake, thanks a lot my friend for your kind words. About the button you are not the first one that has the same issue. I forgot to sandpaper it. Take a 1000 or more sandpaper and your job will be done in 1 minute.

As for the issue that atomizer tilt out at about a five degree angle, I really dont know. No one had said it to me before. The only reason I see is that maybe you didnt screw it in the right way? Can you try to thread it again?

I retried the atty adapter multiple times. It sits flush with the atomizer, but I think it is the unit itself, I am certain it isn't misthreaded.

The issue with the button is that it isn't just not sandpapered, but is chewed up pretty dang good around the edges. I don't know how soft the metal is, and was thinking of taking a needlenose clamp and crunching it around the perimeter of if where it is chewed up, then sanding the edge down round again. It really does look like a penny that got smashed up good. I'm thinking this might have happened in shipping ... the package looked like it got ran over by a squad of forklifts then thrown into a trash compactor. Much of the bubblewrap inside was actually flat! 8-o I imagine the GG was tough enough to take the beating, but the soft brass button wasn't so lucky. I don't believe you're responsible at all for this, it's more than likely our ultra-efficient and high-quality postal service (*sorry, I can't hold back the laughter anymore!*) that caused the problem. I am just trying to figure out what I can do to rectify it on my end.

You will be waiting a month, for starters, as the next batch is due September. The retailer is going to be Ikenvape, IIRC, and I paid about $225 USD shipped for mine with a 510 adapter. I believe it will be less at Ikenvape, but I can't be sure. I think it would have been about $185 shipped had I not got the extra adapter.

I bought the 510 adapter so I could use my super-resilient 510 atties, so I would anticipate going through no more than one every three weeks. As for batteries, I bought $65 worth (shipped express from china) and that will easily last me over a year and not only that, but I have a ton of all types and chargers in that fee too.

Now, things will change in September. We should be seeing the AutoFeedSystem for sale as well as Imeoatties. Those should last a long time since they're designed for high voltage use. I can't even begin to guess what those will cost, but they are both optional should you go that route (and the AFS will require Imeoatties).

For high voltage vaping, there is a hefty premium for this unit over other similar units. The premium, though, buys you the sexiest vaporizer you can get and one that will last you for years, easily. You can easily spend the same amount jumping from product to product, but I reckon most people once they try this (particularly when AFS comes out) won't go back.

Cake, GG can handle any beating but the scratces are scratces!! You can sand it with a 1000 sandpaper. Its what I would have done to the button.

About the issue with the unit that atomizer sits flush, I believe that maybe its the unit. GG is handmaded so not all GGs are the same. Maybe some or all of them have something that you can notice.:)

That was a good post:D

I tried taking a picture with my camera of it so you'd understand what I'm talking about, but my camera won't focus in that tightly ... I'll see if I can borrow a camera or use a film camera to force focus on it if I can (assuming I don't fix it first!). In the meantime, I used a needlenose clamp in a vice and at least flattened the edges out most of the way so it is almost perfectly flat now. The more trivial chunking of the edges will probably take a more delicate approach if it is even possible to fix. I may just end up trying to carefully powersand the sharp ridges down and live with the pitted out parts of the edge since that way at least I don't risk cutting my finger. I'm sure even if I go that route it will end up looking quite nice in the end now that the big gouges into the edges are flattened out..

I know what you mean by scratching: this isn't scratching. This is the USPS being .......s and treating packages like crap and in this case the button looks like it got crushed. Once I have it flat without any jagged edges I'll get to work polishing. I guess it is a testament to how hardy these things are that even though the button plate got a bit mangled the switch still works perfectly.

On another note I've been using this pair of 3V RC123a batteries for about 24 hours now with no sign of them weakening. This is such a wonderful change from swapping batteries every few hours!

Here is a rather crappy picture of one of the worst parts of the button-plate pre-repair:

ggouch.jpg

In this part it was actually folding downward toward the body of the device itself, so I had to high pressure clamp it to flatten it out. Luckily this seems to be a rather soft metal, so the repair process isn't that difficult. Sorry the picture looks like crap, but unfortunately this camera's focus is absolute crap under 3 feet.

edit: The more I look at the angle of the atomizer the less it seems to matter. I can't really notice it much unless I roll it around, so I'll just consider it an added bit of personality to my unit! I'm thinking this could also have been due to the USPS manhandling my package, but who knows, I don't think I'm gonna even worry about it.
