I want to learn how to rebuild so that I don't have to worry about things being hard to find if vaping gets too regulated. I have not done any rebuilding at all. I've got a lot of threads, blogs, and videos marked and I will try to make my way through all of this information, but I'm hoping that you all can help me narrow things down some.

i use a vamo and/or a Provari (if I ever send it in to get it fixed). I usually vape carto tanks, SR, about 4.2 volts. I really really like the tanks. I do not want to drip as this would not work with how I vape. So I guess I need a rebuildable tank? My tanks hold about 3 mls, and this works well for me.

I've got a few vivi Novas, which I don't really like. I don't like to have to tip tip tip. I guess I'm more of a chain vaper, so with Novas I tend to get burnt hits. I have a protank, and it's merely okay. I prefer the bottom coil system to that of the Nova's top coil. It seems a little airy and metallic tasting to me, and I get gurgling if the juice gets too low. I do like the protank over the vivi nova, but still prefer carto tanks.

So... I'm asking what would be a good rebuildable tank to start with? I don't want to spend $200 without having some experience first. I'd more like to be in the $20-$40 range, not including supplies needed. I've got a whatchacallit, ohm meter thing. I've got some little pliers and stuff. I don't really want anything that I'd have to drill or sand or anything like that. I've got no presences so far as to gauge wire or wick material.

Thanks for any advice you can give me, even if it's just pointing me to another thread, video, or blog.

Check out the Terminator tank. Seems to be a ok one if you like wicks and its about 12$. I recently got the Diver and use it in a regular smok-tank and it performs really, really good once you understand what to do and how it works. Its a bit on the expensive side though and tight O-rings are a must with that one.

If you want to try mesh-tanks I would recommend the RSST or the AGA-T2. Both are affordable and works good.

I saw the video tutorial posted by... Can't remember... Sunglasses dude. It looked like something I might try, but since I don't really love the protank I'm hesitant. Lol. Might be a good place to start though, as I have a few extra heads for it lying around.

I will check out these others you all have recommended. Thanks!

i rewicked my protank a million times already lol its alot better when you DIY because you can actually make it more to your taste other than adding/removing a flavor wick lol. i started with ss mesh and just made real tight wraps and it wicked 10x better and never got dry/burnt hits from it. only downside is its a real real small area to work with youd be lucky to fit 5/6 wraps lol but its a start

The price is right for the terminator. It's decent?

A quick search did not lead me to a place where I could buy the Diver tank. I'll have to keep looking.

The Killer is a little more than I want to spend right now, and it seems to be out of stock there. A quick search did not bring up any other suppliers.

I still have to look at the rsst and the aga-2. I was looking at them earlier today, but I can't remember the details.

Cool. Maybe I will just start with this. Did you use the 500 mesh and the kanthal ribbon he was recommending in the video? I think I will definitely need to get out my reading glasses if I decide to try this. Lol.

lol more like magnifying glasses...
i use 500 mesh. i have tried every kind of mesh but 500 is just perfect for everything. its cheap enough to get sheets of different kinds and experiment just be carefull with mesh especially in the protank. learn about conductivity in terms of heating. and make sure your LEADS DO NOT TOUCH. first try i blew my atty to neptune! the leads are pretty long so just be really careful about seperating them.

Ya. This worries me. Are the true rebuildables harder to mess up in this respect? Touching leads would give you a short right?

yes it would short out. true RBAs are actually easier to mount and avoid shorts. with something like mini novas or protanks is that the leads are only seperated by that little rubber plunger so if a lead is slightly loose it may touch. always make sure you meter things out too that's the easiest way to test some shorts otherwise proceed with caution as anyone will tell you in this subforum

Hello from a fellow Ohioan. I know this is a bit out of the price range that you mentioned but I am going to suggest the Kayfun Lite. It will run you about $100 but is well worth the money for ease of setup and use, overall build quality, and most importantly the quality of the vape. I have used tons of different rebuildable drippers and genesis style atomizers and I think this is the best investment I have made. You will be much better off buying a perfect $100 item than buying a bunch of stuff that is in the $15-$60 range. I have a drawer full of cheapos and they don't get pulled out too often unless I want to try a new coil type. Here is my Lite on a Segelei 19 that I have put a lot of work into.

Check out the Terminator at www.madvapes.com, www.litecigusa.net
The Diver I got at the source: www.atmistique.gr (also check resellers here: Resellers)
The RSST you find at www.cloudsofvapor.com, www.litecigusa.net
The AGA-T2 you find at www.empiremods.com, www.altsmoke.com, www.vaporcigzz.com

-I just point out stores I myself know of, but do check around!

The Terminator, as I said, seems to be a decent device, but its subjective of course! The Diver I really like although it was pretty expensive. You will find a lot of reviews of all devices I and others mentioned on YouTube. Look at reviews on the device you are curious about and form your own oppinion. I do love dripping devices and there are a lot of cheap ones out there now and they are good devices to practise on since they are simple in their construction and function -and they dont hold so much liquid!

Good luck!

Thanks. I had found the aga t2 and the rsst at US shops, but not the other ones.

The diver looks very interesting. So, 510d, is that regular size or XL size? Unfortunately it looks like its out of stock even at the source or I might go for it. I'd have to see how much shipping would be, if it was in stock.

I think I might go with the aga t2 for now. I read some of the reviews of the terminator at one of the shops and it seemed like it had mixed reviews. I've got a lot more reading to do though, so nothing is set in stone.

ETA: the richman looks very nice too, but also out of stock at that store. Was there a run on RBAs recently or something?

The Aga T2 is like learning to swim in the deep end. Thats where I started and I guess it was good for me in the long run because it made me very precise with my coiling. It is a real headache to get it working well. I will say it does give a great vape when setup well but it's not the easiest, that's for sure.

The Diver is regular size, not XL.
I have to agree with manji1, the AGA-T2 is cheap but its a bit fiddly. I had some experience before I got it so... But the RSST is really straight forward, easy to get going, although it is a little on the cold side without modding.

I would say -go for the Terminator! If you dont like it, you did not pay a fortune for it... if you like it -you got a great vape cheap!
