Well, maybe a little weighted to us fans of The Big Bang Theory...Do you really thinks that fair to everyone?
statistically, left handed people have an innate advantage - faster throwing lizard...Well, maybe a little weighted to us fans of The Big Bang Theory...
Well, I don't have time to sit around and watch "The Big Bang Theory"Well, maybe a little weighted to us fans of The Big Bang Theory...
I never said all who like it as is are going after those who want change, that was just your read on it.....but you can not deny a few posts in there that did...it was to THOSE people my comments were directed. The thread is for giving ideas on how the contests are run...and all ideas should be heard.nope - not against change - and have stated it repeatedly - and to the best of my knowledge, haven't 'gone after' anyone, but can only speak for m'self... it seems a bit high handed and elitist, however, to classify one group as 'the people who would like to see change' and the 'other group' as the ones going 'after them' when all involved have been offering suggestions or insight - just becuase someone doesn't agree with my suggestions doesn't mean they are 'against change' - it simply means they have a different opinion - and that kind of circles back to that ol' thread title - inviting input from all... i can respect all of the suggestions offered without cosigning em or agreeing with em - and having participated actively in all of the big contest threads, i have also watched the evolution of the process
i am definitely NOT against change- i am simply not a proponent of the 'nuke the fridge' approach, as a rule of thumb - and ultimately, all i can offer are suggestions, based on my observations and experience - right, wrong or indifferent
vape on, brother.
It's unfair to us lizards!Do you really thinks that fair to everyone?
I can't help but see some irony in the fact that several posters here, who make 1 or 2 posts in a contest thread, typically only to complain about the post count method, have seen fit to give their opinion in THIS thread, MANY MANY times now, about how it should not be weighted by post count. Hmmmm.....
And that's my input as well. It's the change (yes, I'm in favor of change too) that is the most workable to include those that don't post much and it keeps the thread active with those that do.It's unfair to us lizards!
Seriously, as a frequent winner, I'm actually a proponent of clear rules and the idea of a decent number of the giveaways being single entry within each contest. I'd like to see it split, neither all one way nor the other, as I believe that active threads, high post and view counts, are likely what is attractive to sponsors, while the single entry part increases the odds for newer people or others who may not have the chance/interest to post often.
I have NO idea what all that is...or how it works, or anything. So I'm discouraged from it and the contests right out of the gate."Upvir.al" system should be a fair system. When you want to get a prize, you will have to pay hard. I try to share the link and get 4002 points, and finally I get "movkin" prizeView attachment 535768
I haven't gotten a confirmation email since the first contest using upvirl.I have NO idea what all that is...or how it works, or anything. So I'm discouraged from it and the contests right out of the gate.
I like this idea...if post counts are counting (which I didn't know until now). I never win, anyway. But I'll keep trying, anyway. Glutton for punishment, maybe. haha! I've been here since 2012, and a supporting member in a real as well as esoterical way...and I'm not in the rotation of the "regular winners". That's life.Hmmm that's a tough one...
Quizzes never really worked, people with slow internet/devices were kind of left out even though they wanted to participate..
Weighted kind of works maybe separate them into categories, would mean a little more work for you though. Lets say the draw was 10 items.
2x 1-5 posts
2x 6-25 posts
2x 26-50 etc
2x 51-100 etc
2x 100+ etc..
A lot of us didn't/haven't. That would be worth checking into as well.I haven't gotten a confirmation email since the first contest using upvirl.
I think I've gotten one....but that was a while ago.I haven't gotten a confirmation email since the first contest using upvirl.
And how will the contest threads look if the same people continue to win over and over, and people get bored with trying, and don't enter anymore...how will those threads look? probably not too enticing for the suppliers
Just read the E-mail Neil I will have a think as it's now 12.20 am and I'm tired.I'll check in tommorow with some ideas..
