glycerin questions

I'm interested in more details about glycerin...

Where to buy and what do I need to look for? Is there some/one glycerin that is suitable when others are not?

How do I mix my own flavors? I noticed at my new restaurant supply dealer that I can by all sorts of flavor extracts...are these suitable?

Whatever you have in the way of links or other info, please pass along. I'm determined to be prepared should juice be banned even if it means no nicotine. I still have Snus tins from being a product evaluator for them. I think they're crap but between those and gum or patches I think I could get thru the rough spots of giving up the nic.

I bought my VG at Michaels craft store. 4oz. for 2.00 plus used a 40% coupon it's made by wilton's and can be found in the candy isle....walmrt has it too
Look at Walrus blog, he has recipes. I 1st started out with a 50/50 mix of e-juice and PG with a few drops of lorann candy flavor. Now I'm hooked on making my own mixes of different strenghts.
Just make sure the VG you buy is USP food grade

avoid flavors with oils ....I use lorann, here's the link

I'd like to know, too please! I found a bottle of "Pure Glycerin 99.5% pure" at the drugstore, and bought it in case it was the right product. The problem is that it doesn't say vegetable anywhere. I won't use it until I know it's the right stuff. Anybody know?

Now I'm playing the battery charging waiting game. I just picked up my NJoy Npro from the Post Office! Finally! :D

The glycerin has to say USP on it. I found Humco brand at walmart....USP....99.5% glycerin...in the bandaid aisle there. I've used it with no problem. It is thicker than the one at Michael's though so it depends on which you like.

Glycerin is basically vegetable glycerin (VG). Most bottles don't say vegetable on them though.

Thanks, Lu! Yes, it says USP on it. It was hard to find at first, they had it next to the rubbing alcohol. I was also looking for a suitable case, and I wandered around the store looking at almost *everything* looking for the right size with pockets and such. No luck!

Hehehe, they probably thought I was casing the joint for a stickup. :p

Thanks for the link and the info on the VG at Walmart. Could anyone imagine trying to gather all this information, tricks and tips on their own? The collective brain here is something to behold.

I just bought "Glycerin BP 100% v/v (E422)" for chapped skin and sore throats. It doesn't say USB on it but it says you can take two 5ml teaspoons every 4 hours for a sore throat. Is this okay to use? I've already used it once and the flavour of my tobacco flavoured cart became somewhat sweeter. Any ideas? Thanks.

BP is the UK equivalent of the USP in the US. Sounds like it should be safe.

Walmart's HUMCO glycerin was $2.98 for 6 oz plus tax about came to about $.53 per oz. LorAnn comes out to about $.59 before shipping costs. Michaels is about the same cost as Walmart unless you use a 40% off coupon.

I was really just checking this thread to make sure I got the right glycerin and got majorly distracted calculating the cost. Thanks to shimmyprincess and Walrus for your help.

Off to check out the Walrus recipes. Nice review of LorAnn's flavers. I'll have to see if I can find that thread again.

Hi,

So even though the flavor company name is Lorann Oils does not mean all their flavors are oil based?

Do you think I can use this glycern Vegetable Glycerin and then just add flavor if I don't need nicotine?
