Going backwards with my vaping!

I started vaping about two months ago when I bought a cig-e-like from my newsagent. I quickly moved onto an ego CE4 ripoff which whilst not brilliant it was soooo much better and cost effective than the cig-e-likes I had been using. After joining the forums and going on a steep learning curve which involved a .... load of reading and watching youtube reviews I decided I needed to get me some more power so I went and ordered a vamo v5 with a couple of vivi nova tanks. Very pleased with the variable voltage and battery charge time I thought this was the business! I think I must have vamped about 20-30 ml that weekend haha. Now the vamo was great but the size of it niggled me, I have always been a carry as little in my pockets as I can get away with sort of guy. I usually just carry my cards held together with an elastic band instead of a wallet and I always go for a slim phone. So the vamo felt massive when I was kicking around even in short mode. I felt I should look for something smaller for using when out and about. After much more reading and youtubing I went for an ego twist 1100mah I also threw in a few boge cartomisers just for a wee change. I had been put off cartomisers due to the protracted fiddling it took to fill them but whilst youtubing I came across the method were you use the condom that came with the cartomiser and plunge the carto slowly into the condom that is half filled with yer juice. It worked magic so that was a bonus! So now for the past week I have used my ego twist with the boge cartos and I am so chuffed with the results. No more gurgling or dry hits that were a regular occurrence using clearomisers. My battery lasts all day and it's a cinch to change the voltage. I also seem to use less juice with carts. So as I said I seem to be going backwards!

Well, I still use the eGos, they work for me and they're small and easy to carry around - just put 'em in my back pocket. They're cheap and I have a bunch of them, different sizes, all with different flavors in them - I like to switch flavors a lot. I do have an Innokin vv vw 3 - but it's small too, about like the ego types. Clearos work for me. Now this is not to say I won't eventually get something larger and more sophisticated - I've seen some real beauties that sure tempt me!! But I'm happy with my simple eGos.

You can also top fill your cartos. Just hold it at an angle and put one drop at a time on the cotton sides and not the middle. If your juice is thick, just tap the bottom of the carto on your counter top and it will absorb it. 23 drops later and you are ready to go. Takes all of about a minute to fill and you don't have to worry about the juice gunking and blocking your air holes on the bottom of the carto using the condom to fill it.

Another thing you can do to thin out thick juice is put it in your microwave for 4 seconds and 4 seconds only. Thins it out enough that cartos fill pretty quickly.

Thanks for reminding me about this, maybe I can salvage the 20 or 30 cartos I still have from my earliest purchases. They are not improving with age, and I do remember that they worked OK with eGo batteries, not "windy" like the 510 setup I got them for ...

Might be a good way to make a "spare parts" giveaway setup for a smoking friend and potential convert. Easier than trying to explain filling clearos with a syringe or pin top bottle ...

I have decided to stick with the Ego,s but prefer the smaller 650,s and have given up on the Twists in favour of the Ego C upgrades. Have also gone back to cartos and my juice usage has halved.

I was a heavy smoker 50 a day but with the right juice i have not needed higher voltage in the past 12 months.

I use 70/30 pg/vg. I have never used straight pg. Cartos can be finicky and sometimes my juice absorbs quickly and sometimes it just sits on top of the cotton so I figured out that warming it up helps a lot when the cotton doesn't want to cooperate. The first time I nuked it for 20 seconds and burned my hand on the plastic bottle. It took 30 min for the bottle to return to room temp.... LOL
