I was browsing on Amazon today buying picks and guitar strings and AAA NIMH batteries and noticed that they had Kanthal. I ended up buying 100 ft rolls of 28ga and 32ga for $5 and $7 respectively and a bag of 100 organic cotton balls for around $2. My new winder needed wire stock and all I had was the remnants of a 6' roll.

Get a 22mm device and a 22mm rba and your problems will go away.

Qoppa Dominator RDA - Vape Tribe

Snagged one of these, you literally push the buttons, insert wire, release and its in place and secure, ready to be wiggled to perfection.

After months of Research & Development following their first product/atomizer the under rated “......”, comes this first of its kind “press and shoot” system (no tools required to feed in and out your wires)!! Innovative design and high quality finish throughout.. Made in the Philippines.

Why do you want a genesis style RBA? They are widely known to be one of the most difficult to set up. What would you think of an RDA like an IGO-L? That would be much easier.

If your protank heads are failing so consistently, there must be something you are doing wrong every time. There are plenty of tutorial videos out there for you to follow and I am sure that is what you are doing, but not quite picking up on some important detail. The other possibility is that your device is not making good contact. What is it by the way? I know you said cgr18650ch earlier, but is it in a mech or something else?

im with cloudz, wait to try the gennies, or you'll be joining me in my stint in the booby-hatch.

Although, i must say, for its price, the little Did clone is VERY easy to set up; it was the first time i ever succeeded with the 'pulse method' for gennies. Igo-L, like BeRight here suggested. Two posts, one deck, and a top cap. Easier to set up.

So, where did Ellendil go? He must be tied up with his new coil winder. :D

I'm waiting on my 28ga wire to arrive today. I wound one yesterday on the new coil winder using the 1.8mm rod and it fit and worked fine in a Protank head. It's a snap creating a micro coil and inserting it. I felt like RipTripper there for a while. Now that I have the coil winder jig I'll probably rip through that ziplock bag of old heads I've been threatening to rebuild but just didn't want to mess with. The 28ga Kanthal will let me add more coils and stay lower in resistance.
