So I got my Firefly e-cig kit like a month or two ago and I have been enjoying it immensely. I have cut down my cigarette consumption by a lot, and I've pretty much given it all up, but I find that I will still occasionally smoke one. I'm working on that...

Anyways, with my 2 e-cigs, I have one with a Boge 2.7ohm cartomizer and the other with an adapter and 808D atomizer. I've found that I enjoy the atomizer more than the cartos, and I'm curious to see how different it would be if I got a different atomizer. I prefer vapor/flavor to throat hit and prefer a cooler vape. I also feel like my juices from madvapes aren't extremely... flavorful. Am I perhaps just doing it wrong?

Not looking to spend a fortune. Should I continue to use 901/808 atomizers with the adapter or should I just get some kind of 510 atty?

Yea those are pretty pricey... anything decent thats cheaper than that? How long do one of those last? I don't think I've burnt my current atty, but then again I do not have a lot of experience with them. Is there anything special I need to do or should I clean it or does it not matter?

If you burn your wick you can remove the wick and build another, or vape it with no wick ;) And those last very long, ive had mine since January and im still using it. Look for tutorials on how to change a wick or how to remove it if you burned it.

I am a hardcore dripper. Any 510 atty can be dripped on just fine, but I would recommend a 306, they thread onto 510 batteries just great without any adapter. I really really like the ones I've been using for months now. They are 1.8ohm, which means LR, bridgless "dripping" attys... So can only be dripped and won't work with a cartridge. Also, they are cheap, but function like an expensive atty. The vapor from them is very smooth, and well, just wonderfully clean tasting. They also have 510's in the same style that are also good, but I like the 306's. Here's the link:

SmartVapes Dripping Atomizer™

Oh, and good choice going with the firefly. I used those for a long time before I started modding. I like liberty-flights for batteries, but not for attys.

Edit: if you want to try a good 901 atty, I will recommend going here: LR Atomizers

They are not necessarily better than smartvapes, but decent for sure.

+1 I love these 306 dripping atties and the price is great too. There's a thread on them http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-dripping-atomizer-custom-built-dripping.html where I've left a number of posts.

Can you tell me why the 306 is better than the 510 atty? I'd rather order from less sites if it means I have to get another adapter so those will work with my 510 battery. Also, what makes these attys better? Are they designed a special way that makes it better for dripping?

Is there a site where I can get the juices AND the attys together? Less shipping charges =x

306's do NOT need an adapter to work on a 510 batt. The thread end is the same as a 510 atty, but the rest is slightly different. I have a hard time defining why I like them so much, but maybe somebody else can fully explain why they hit so good. I've heard some around here say that you should not buy juice from hardware vendors, and vice versa... Though there are many places that sell both, clouds of vapor, and madvapes off the top of my head.

Edit: Yes, bridgless ones, like from smartvapes, are specifically designed for dripping.

Ok so I did some searching and it seems like a lot of people prefer the 306 attys for dripping. I have never used a 306 atty so they are new to me. It also looks like I may need to get a drip shield and 306 drip tip or make a mod with a 510 carto sleeve. Is a drip shield necessary? It would be a lot easier for me to just get the 510 atomizer since I already have 510 drip tips but I am curious about the 306 vaping experience.

Just ordered some juice off of ECBlends, so hopefully these juices will be a lot better than Madvapes. I honestly can't taste much of the flavor in some of the juices, and in others, it just tastes weird and nothing really stands out to me as something I'd want more of once I finish it.

Yep, you'll need the universal drip tip to use a normal 510/901 drip tip. The 306 is a smaller diameter. The universal fits over the 306 and the regular drip tip fits inside the universal as if it was a 510 atty.
A drip shield is not strictly necessary, but if you have a non-sealed or semi-sealed battery (I forgot what your PV is) it's a good idea. Leaks are pretty inevitable with dripping.
If you already have 510 drip tips, the only extra thing you'll need to use a 306 atty is that universal drip tip. I've never even seen a 306 sized drip tip so I don't know if they even make them.

The 306's that I've looked at recently, and the smartvapes ones, all come with a 306 drip tip included with the atomizer, at no extra cost. You only need "the universal" if you wanna use a 510 drip tip. I made my own "universal" out of an old atty, and I have a thread on how to do that. The atty in my avatar pic is a 306, using a 510 sleeve...

A drip shield is only a good idea if the device you're using doesn't accept a cone. I'm not using either atm, because I know how to drip and not leak, though it took a lot of practice.

best way to drip (atty of your choice of course) add 4 drops , take 5 hits and dont inhale after add 2 more drop and good to go ! top it with 2 more drops when flavour start to go weak.

With the 306 smartvapes dripping attys only 2 or 3 drops are needed to break it in. Let it sit for two minutes after adding the drops, then vape :) add 1 to 3 drops as needed after that. How much it needs will change as its used.

I'm looking at the 306 drip tips on Smartvapes and it specifically says *drip tip not included*. I'd like to order one 510 atomizer and one 306 to try it out, but I need to figure out the drip tip situation for the 306 first. Is it worth getting one of those in 1.8ohm and the other in 3ohm or should I get both in the LR?

My PV is pretty much an eGo style 510 (Firefly). Still dripping out of the 901 atty for now, works pretty good for me but I don't have anything to compare it to. I feel like I am not getting the true vape experience since I have a meh atty and some below average juices.

BTW, what PG/VG ratio is good for dripping? I'm not sure what the ratio for the Madvapes liquid is, but the ones I ordered from ECBlends are 70/30, 60/40, 50/50, and 0/100 PG-VG ratio. I wanted to sample them all and see which one is my sweet spot.
