Has anyone ordered TI from stealth vapes yet? I want to see if it's really that clean. Cleaning the TI wire with a rag is an annoying process. I sure do like TI vaping though. At least TI isn't as annoying as NI200 on the wicking part.

See post #9 in this thread from TheOtherSteve who has used Stealth Vapes, liked it and commented it was clean... that's typical of the reviews I've seen.

Was ready to order some myself the other day but hadn't even tried Ti yet to know which gauge I prefer. :) But plan on ordering some too, probably 24g since I now have 26g on hand. Let us know what you think when it arrives!

YES to using slightly spaced (one wire width of space in between) Coils of Ti. Trace, try inverting your Coil where Legs come down from the Top of Coil to your Posts instead of from bottom.[...]

Thanks SO MUCH for the advice. I'll PM you with the results a little later today when I get a chance to try it out, so as not to hijack this thread with my personal TC challenges. :) Appreciate the help!

Quick question, is it trey-see like a girl or like 'trace' like how a child traces a picture. I wanna know what Im working with here :)
I wonder why people hate on you.... maybe because your a " ". Let's play Mad Libs, everyone! I came to read about where to buy/suggestions and you added notta, even though you have plentiful sources. When people come into your shop, do you laugh because they don't want to waste spectra when they redo their bands? I bet your kind to them. My word for you is "PUNK".

Just a followup on Ti sources.... Marc411 was kind enough to send me some 24g from Rio Grande (Titanium Round Wire, 50-ft. Coil, 24-Ga., Soft and one of the things he didn't mention when he kindly shared this source here, is that the wire appears pretty clean. (He probably wisely left that off b/c there is no way to know if it actually IS clean since it is sold for jewelry and not to vape on.) I vaped the first coil without wiping and didn't notice any funny taste, nor did it leave any grease on my fingers when wrapping. I wiped the second piece down with alcohol just to see if anything would come off on the tissue and saw nothing. Some ppl might want to wipe anyway, and I am certainly not declaring it IS clean by industry standards, but there you have it.

To IanDVaypes, did you receive your Stealth Vapes wire yet, and how do you like it??

I received some today from Fast Tech. I have not used titanium wire before, but it seems to perform as it should.

Is the wiry shiny or a duller "white" (matte) finish? Also, is it clean? If you wipe with rubbing alcohol does anything come off on the tissue?

It looks to be good, yes. The packaging is also nice.
But I really don't like working with Ti. Going to try stainless steel now because making coils has turned into an annoyance for me this way.

Which gauge did you get and do you mean it's too springy?

Glad it worked for you Trayce, sorry that snail mail took so long to get it into your hands.

Yo han, I've found that depending on the source (and gauge) the ability to form the wire varies greatly. Crazy wire and Stealth are more rigid and have more spring while the Rio wire is softer and forms more easily with a lot less spring. It also holds it's shape very nicely during wicking.

It was definitely a matte finish. I cleaned it with an ethanol soak and tooth brush scrub. Didn't see anything noticeable come off the wire. The ethanol may have had a slight discoloration to it, but I can't say for certain.

+1 for Rio Grande 24g. SUPER easy to work with & clean. Thanks Marc, love it!

My only gripe with temp control and nickel wire is less battery time because of the low ohm coils. Can I improve that situation with Ti wire? I found a caculator that seems to say a .15 ohm nickel coil rises to .3 oms at 500 degrees. It appears I can make a .8 ohm Ti coil with 28 guage wire that will rise to 1.6 ohm at 500 degrees. My kanthal builds are 1.5 ohms fired at 20 watts and gave me plenty of battery time. Does anyone here know if a .8 ohm Ti build will work without problems?

With the 24ga TI I am building between .17 and .21 ohms and get a full day out of a Samsung 25R. With that build I am at about 410° and 24 joules.

That being said Ill be sure to tag you in the photos of the owner of the Key West Vapor Shark Store(and 9 others) on my Jet skis in a few weeks...you have heard of those people right?? Ill take the whole shop and ask them to close for the day just because you asked so nicely.

Thanks sunshine for caring sooo much about me to quote me on such a silly post. Im (actually) fighting for the cause and you wanna argue in my comment section.

Just a though on the Gr2 Sweet Spot crap, remember that this will likely have a different TCR to Gr1 and any of the new mods that have a Ti mode hardwired (excuse the pun) will not work properly!

The sweet spot vapors ti wire is the best out there. It's made specifically by them for vaping and can't be had anywhere else. It's medical grade titanium and also ultrasonic cleaned before packaging. It seems to be pretty great and if someone had a dna200 they have spent over a year developing the wire and have temp control tcr values for their wires in every size and gauge. Making it probably the most consistent wire possible. They really have gone above and beyond creating it.
