I never had any luck with the 510 fitting on my infinitely it cut off the air flow with tanks and fell out all the time I replaced it with a Shorty 510 adapter that came with the ring and it now extends past the top cap it might not be as aesthetically pleasing but it works! Unless you are machining one piece caps I would not recess a 510 connector or they will get pulled out all the time by people attaching tanks!

Hey Mike,
What if, instead of a design completely flush to the surface, only the bottom of the air slots were flush and the contact ridges were raised just enough to allow airflow for any larger device that might be attached?

this design has the slots above the surface by .5mm or so .

Beer is good !
this new top cap is a one piece design , I learned my lesson on the old Infinity about press fit connections .
