Uhh resistors do not step up , that requires a boost regulator circuit FYI . '

I wanted to do a boost design and tested several most did not work ( my fault ) and they do not have the best efficiency vs. a Buck regulator like the BP and IP use. If I can find a REAL 300mah battery it will get 1/2 the time of the BP or IP and for the size that is good enough for this design IMO.

I actually had regulator, but changed it because it didn't sound right. Understand, at 40, I'm a ways away from when I played with most of this. ;-)

Size is THE MAJOR factor in this design , vape time is 3rd , reliability is 2nd !

I know what you meant, but I believe that reliability is #1, as well as design, with you. From everything I understand about NotCigs, your customers love the reliability of your product, as well as your support of it. You also have a great presence in the forums, giving you a connection with your customer and your market. Please, never sacrifice that for a design.

Not yet ! I am still looking , this is a small size and they are not that popular , I have been looking at a boosted design but the efficiency is LOW and that just kills battery life so I want to go with the same controller as the IPro BP and VVPV but with a small batt.

the hunt continues.

Not gonna happen ! this is just a focus on a section of the Ecig market , I want to be able to bring a reliable Ego sized VV Ecig ( not mod ! !!!! ) to this section of the market, part of my reasoning about the IC controller is the reliability that it has ! that is VERY important for a product that is shooting for the mainstream.

IMO, you have exactly the right priorities for this mod. I also think it's important to make this mate neatly with eGo attachments that so many of us have. Cones, Ego T, EDCMC etc.

I already have a design that will directly use the Ego type cones and attys etc. , I will have an option for a regular top cap as well.

Absolutely! I think that you have proven the importance of reliability, with your endless search for the right battery, to use with your current PCB. I didn't want people thinking that you would ever sacrifice reliability, for anything. I was just trying to make that clear.

One thing that I may have missed, due to the number of posts here; are you looking at moving to a different size PCB, or using the same sized PCB from the Infinity. I guess what I am asking, is about the width of the EvvO. Are you trying to keep it the same diameter as the eGo, or are you going to have it a little wider. I, personally, don't feel that the eGo is the best width. If my Infinity Pro (and non-Pro) are any indication, I think that you guys are going to create the perfect device for this market segment. It needs to be a bit thinner than my Infinity, but don't shoot for too thin.

It is a difficult design challenge - there are always tradeoffs. Although, buck is more efficient than boost, I think Boost is the way to go. 250mAh(14250) can't supply the necessary current. 750mAh(14500), even with lower efficiency of a boost regulator, can provide a good vaping experience. I have played around with (2)14250's and (2)10440's, and I am not impressed. I just breadboarded a boost regulator with 1 14500 with very satisfactory results.

Well send me a copy of that design , I have made 3 prototypes and NONE of them have worked !!! I must be missing something simple ?

OK this is my new design , 2 x 16340 Powerizer batts , same electronics as the BP and IP same batts as the BP so same specs , 18mm diam. 0.72"( same as the IPro ) x 4 " long tip to tip , so IP diameter and shorter then the BP . View attachment 66822
Back lit clear button with a Blue led , same wheel as the IPro

Sounds great, if you can hold the price down. Depends on what market space you target, your present mods are already way less than other high end vv.

I can hit around $69 with no batts or charger , the batts ( good ones ) are expensive , so is the charger !
that is in the area I am targeting , and it is directed to the EGO crowd as an upgrade. Gotta find a low cost charger and batts now LOL !

Yay for pink!!! :)

So we are talking the same performance battery wise as my BP and iPro?
Well if you use the Powerizer batts , For a kit I have to find a low cost charger and set of batts to keep it on target price wise. the Batts+charger are more then the unit cost right now ! If you have the batts and charger then it is a great deal IMO
