It's really odd. I wonder if quitting smoking had anything to do with fertility. I've been married for several years and NEVER got pregnant until now.

Yanno, I gotta ask. If women can stop smoking/vaping for the 9-10 month period while pregnant, why go back to smoking later? My sister smoked for years, got pregnant, quit while pregnant, then after the baby was born and about (I'm guessing) 6-12 months old, started smoking again. Then did it two more times! Her kids are in their mid to late twenties and my sister is telling me she just can't quit smoking. I told her, sure you can! You did it three times!!! LOL

I think a temporary quit for the best of all reasons...a baby, is fairly easy. You know it does not have to be permanent. It's quitting permanently and knowing you will NEVER have another cigarette that causes panic and failure.

I think it is easier to quit something if you know you can start again at a later date AND combine that with compelling reason. Telling yourself you can't have something you crave ever again causes all sorts of mental dilemmas.

I know I quit smoking analogs both times I was pregnant because the smell of them made me deathly ill. I couldn't have smoked them if I had wanted to. But once the pregnancy hormones had receded after birth, the desire came right back.

I've heard of a lot of women never even quitting. I read over the risks though, and it's pretty scary.

I'm actually afraid of inhaling PG, VG, and/or any added chemicals that might be put in for flavoring. I don't think there are any studies on pregnant women and I wouldn't want to risk any birth defects or negative side effects. It would really help with withdrawal if I could do that with confidence though.

Mrs and I both smoked; stopped a month ago knowing we wanted to start a family, used vaping as a means to quit smoking. Discussions have become more frequent and we're pretty much set on starting a family now . We've discussed her stopping vaping, since we both agree that its probably not the best idea; shes already been cutting back in preparation. I would definitely say its best to give up the vaping; better safe than sorry.

I'd talk to your doctor. Mine told me that quiting completely while pregnant causes lots of miscarriages due to stress and that cutting way back was better. I cut back to half a pack of analogs a day from almost 2 packs and both of mine were pretty much perfect babies. Both scored 9 of 10 on APGAR scale. Probably would have scored 10 if I hadn't been sedated for c-sections. Talk to your Doc and see what they think before you do anything. If they say it's OK to quit completely then go for it and good luck! And congrats! I loved being pregnant and babies are great fun. Of course now they are almost 18 and almost 6 and I sometimes wonder "what was I thinking," but on most days they are great .

Nah she stopped three times, you only quit if you don't go back to it. I've done it more than three times, it the psychological part of the addiction, and for me the social part too as my husband, sister, brother in-laws (three of them), and dad, as well as most of the people I know smoke. my sister and I are trying to quit analogs together via the e-cig cut back method. I was so grateful that she told me about them that I bought her starter pack, some starter liquid, and some spare attys for her lol.

I dont know about the fertility thing, I hope it helps because my wife and I are working on baby #2, I think it helps because of the extra energy you have in the bedroom. Congrats!!!

You want to refrain from any unknown chemicals that have not been thoroughly studied entering your body while pregnancy. Even if a chemical is thought to be safe, their enantiomer might not be. Stay on the safe side and refrain from harmful additives, addictive substances, etc.

I never had any trouble getting pregnant and I smoked a pack a day. I also smoked during my labor while I was in the hospital!!!! Ah, those were the good old days. I'd have choked someone if I couldn't have smoked, or had the baby in the hospital parking lot!

I quit both times I was pregnant, because it made me really queasy.
But it didn't stop me from getting that way, and I only had one ovary. That was almost 40 years ago, but yes, there were ash trays in the rooms!

If you look at it this way...

PG and VG are already in a variety of products that are both FDA approved AND used on a daily basis by most people. So are any food/candy/etc flavorings. So, I would think that vaping a 0-Nic flavored solution would have no more negative effects on you or a fetus than any of the products that have these things in their ingredients (foods, candy, drinks, etc).

Anyone disagree?
