so I got my first box mod, it's a kangertech dripbox. got it at a good price and bought it from someone I could trust. HOWEVER, everything taste like burning ..... I've replaced the batteries, the coil, and instead of using the squonk I used a tank. everything tastes horrible. I've vaped out of a few regulated boxes and the flavor was awesome. I did a test run with the juice I bought today on a regulated box and it was awesome. but it still sucks out of my box. should I trade it for a regulated box or just ger my money back?

Get yourself a nice 200 watt mod. Like a R200 Smok or a Rx200S. You can use many different wires if you would like or just plain VW. It has enough power for any flavors you like or clouds you want to chuck. And a nice regular 510 pin tank or RBA Plume Veil or Griffin Tank. You will be very happy. Those Squonk devices are meant for people who have been vaping for a while and understand them more. IDK. Though they are safe for driving drippers though. Ebay allows you to sell vape products if it's nicotine free (Wink)!

I was really wanting the rx200 but I ended up trading the kanger for an ipv3 li with battery charger and it already has the 200W update on it so I'm pretty happy lol

Why in gods name are you buying devices that you dont understabd how they work?.
If this is on advice of a friend, they arent helping you.
This is how people get hurt.
Before spending more money on gear you dont know how to use, i woild suggest spending time here asking the questions BEFORE buying gear.
Itll save you time, money, and stress.

Dont be a statistic.

I'm trying to figure out why a 200W mod is the solution to a burnt metallic taste?

A complex 200w mod for a BEGINNER!?!? I'd probably recommend something like an iStick, or CoolFire.

It's like telling a 16 year old kid that just got their driver's license that they should just go buy a Dodge Challenger with a 707-HP Supercharged 6.2L HEMI® SRT Hellcat V8 Engine.

I'll never understand this logic. Or lack thereof.

Glad you swapped for a mod you can turn down...

On the dripbox:
a) the stock atty sucks. It should work though. It's built at like 0.25 ohms, for a pretty kicky vape - you need the airflow running, and you need it wet
b) if you slap a tank on it, it should be built to handle whatever your battery's at: probably something like 4 volts - you need wicking and airflow that can handle that

LOL...
When I was 16 (1979) I found a '69 Plymouth GTX, with the 440 6 pack motor, that I tried to get my dad to buy for me...
Fortunately, he had better sense

No problems man, just multipy current times voltage to arrive at watts, current is found by dividing battery voltage by coil resistance. No (Bull) charts required..
Just be careful with the batteries. Don't carry them lose in a pocket or backpack. Always carry them in plastic battery storage box or something similar. Safety first my friend!

That's a pro tip...OP has a lipo box now, but I want anyone using unregulated mods to know how to use them...

They shouldnt even be produced for mass sale...
