Received my three Protank 2's the other day and must say, they vape is just like the original Protank. The only real difference for me is the fact I can now put a plastic mouthpiece on it which is nice. Other than that...no big change to me. The replaceable glass is no biggie to me as I'd buy a new Protank 2 then try to find the glass part if I broke it. Personally, I'd wait a bit for the original Protanks to fall in price and pick up more of those. The extra cost just isn't worth it to me.

Think I'm going to wait for the price to drop on the PT2 also. Really more interested in the PT Mini. Going down to a B & M I like to get some juice in a bit and they have some PT Minis in stock. Maybe I'll pick one up and put it in my daily rotation.

They make a protank 2 mini as well. I think potion vape has it.

Glen, smart move on the Protank2! Wait for the price to come down. Not worth the extra money in my opinion. I love my original Protanks as much as the Protank 2 so why pay more?

Do you know if Fast Tech sells a mini Protank? I can't find it. Do they have a clone?

My Protank 2 finally shipped, so should be getting it next week. I got in on a $14.99 presale, but with shipping it was still a little over $19. I haven't seen any blowout sales for the original Protank (like, under $10), so there's very little price difference to me. On the sites I've visited the original is still going for $15 or more.

I don't see why you would wait for the price to go down on a PT2, especially if you are going to be using them primarily. A PT2 with proper care should last indefinitely. Replacement parts for them are also available.

I see a lot of people saying that they use Protanks when they have a harsh juice. With a harsh juice you are begging for the glue on the tank to go bad. I would think little silicone particles hitting that coil when you inhale would be rather vile and toxic.

I would even go as far to say that they would eventually stop making Protank 1's. Now that the PT2 can be completely taken apart, it is now a true rebuildable. I also think it preforms better and is all around better then the PT1.

The difference would be no glue. That's nice that some people got good protanks, but I wasted $60 on protanks that couldn't take the heat. I wouldn't spend $5 on a 1.0 protank unless the 'new' adhesive they used was disclosed.

I've read a few comments about the puritank coming apart as well. No thanks. I don't have any more $20 bills to waste on garbage. If they can't find a heat-resistant adhesive that can also withstand chemical attack, they need to stick with glue-free from here on out. They need to stop stringing us along and use ceramics, pyrex, stainless steel, no adhesives, etc exclusively. Do they not test this stuff before mass producing it?

I have a feeling they think they are going to lose money if they give us the best they can (ie no planned obsolescence). What they don't realize, is that people like me (and I'm sure many others) can't convince everyone we know who smokes to make the switch with fiddly POS devices. It would also benifit China if more smokers here vaped ASAP, because we need as many voices as possible to push back against ridiculous regulations.

Sorry for the rant, but for me personally, Protank 1.0 was a fail that made me lose money AND start smoking again. I vowed to never buy from Kanger again, but I'm considering MAYBE giving them a chance with 2.0.

tl;dr
These new devices are 1000x better than glued together crap. We aren't going to win over health professionals and the general public by inhaling toxic adhesives and off-gassing plastics.

I would buy the original Protank and save 30% on the cost difference. The good thing is the coils are interchangeable.

I wouldnt.

In addition to the replaceable glass and the addition of the drip tip, Kanger also beefed up the 510 connection at the base. The Protank V1 was apt to snap fairly easily if you dropped your PV. I had one fall from height of 3 feet onto carpet and snap completely off.

A buddy of mine who owns a local brick and mortar had to order replacement bottoms because a lot of other customers were experiencing this as well.

Version 2 is supposed to fix this.

I would hate to see someone left high and dry and thinking about buying a pack of cigarettes because of the aforementioned problem. A 30 percent savings isnt enough to chance my going back to smoking.

Just got my PT2 the other day, and I gave it a full on, all day vape test on my Vamo.

It is a lot like the original in performance, for the most part. The draw is about the same to me, but I don't get the tank halfway down gurgles like I did with the original (so far).

Really like the fact that I can take it all a part for cleaning and whatnot.
