OK, got mine today and filled half full with BWB Peach. Took a couple of drags and the next one tasted slightly burned. Decided to put it down for a while thinking it might have to soak in some. 5 hours later I try again and I'm still getting this slightly burned aroma. What am I doing wrong? I've tried it on two different 808 batteries so that's not the problem.

There was no instructions so i was under the assumption that you just fill and vape. Can anyone help? I really don't want to try another and possibly ruin 2 of these things.

Try using a battery that you have used for a bit. I find that if I use a freshly charged battery I get a burnt taste. Using a battery that has been used a bit was my answer, I can fill and vape and get a gerat taste. Also, Bstedh suggested short draws on these when the battery is fully charged and that helps too. I just can't remember all the time to do that :(

Hey OMG. I had that problem too. You need to pull the outer tube off, puul the white filler stuff off and throw that away. Pull the center tube off and fluff the wicks a bit and put the middle tube back on but not all the way down. leave a millimeter of space at the bottom. Then put the outer tube back on. The wicks are just a little too pinched and moving the middle tube up slightly will free them up. They work like a champ now that I did those steps. Hope that helps

I didn't like them at first because I was getting the same results as OMG. But after a 1 minute procedure they are woorking better than anything I've tried. I can vape one after another until the tank is completely empty with the same vape over and over. Ce2's were ok but not consistent. I've got a few fills going and still great. These can be dry burned easily by removing the tubes, so they should last as long as my ce2's. Which is 2 weeks to a month each. These work best for me on my 808 bats. My provari seems to be too powerful, so I use standard 3.7v. I've been chain vaping to see how they stand up and so far I'm losing the battle,

I recived mine today also and i had same results as you guys.

1. new 808 bat and i had the burn taste also till i used it up some and it was fine after that and was using BWB peach. The peach was the only one that seemed to be touchy with the burn taste till 808 bat was used some.

2. Having a problem with leaks on 3 out of 4 so far and you are right i don't really like the end cap its not mobile friendly worried about using it like a carto moving around or putting it in case, wish they had caps like the condoms. Think they need to get tighter fitting caps or make the inside part longer for better fit.

3. they do taste grate and are middle to cool warmth

4. They worked good on my V4L PT also no problem just worried about moving them around with leaks and cap coming off

How the heck do you get the outer tube off? It's stuck down super tight and not budging.

They use a cornstarch type paste which can be a little sticky. Put the vortex onto a battery. hold it like you were going to break a stick and gently break it loose on one side then back and forth gently until you can just pull it off.

@ udlike2no2 The ones leaking through the hole on the bottom I'm thinking are wicking too well. You might try pushing down on the center tube to see if you can push it down a little to close of space at the wick. Might have to take them apart to do this as there is that gluey stuff on the tubes. Just a thought I haven't had any leaking issues with mine. If it is leaking around the outer tube you could try taking the tube off and puting a strip of plumbers tape around the base and putting the outer tube back on. You could also do the same except with a paste made from cornstarch and water.

OK did this and it works good but still leaks bad, what do I use to seal the outer tube back on so it doesn't leak? And still hate the cap it is very lose also, they really need to make that better.

I couldn't get my BWB Peach to vape clean in these either. I think it may have too much sweetener in it causing it to burn on the coil. My BWB Casablanca and malty toffee vape awesome on it however. I think you would need a variable voltage mod to get some of the juices to vape just right on these.

I tried that... had to toss it out because it wouldn't stop leaking. One down.

Filled up another with really thin juice and it's not drawing at all... slightly burnt taste.

This is breaking my heart. :(

In another post it sounds like people are having good luck with using Teflon plumbers tape around the base prior to sticking the tubes back on to make a seal. I have been searching the garage to find mine as I know I have about 5 rolls of it but because I want to find it, it's nowhere to be found. I may stop by the hardware store tomorrow as it's only .99 a roll.

Also you can use some corn starch and a dab of water to make a new glue paste to put them back together. I might try this before running to the hardware store if the wife has any corn starch in the cupboard.

The post that I found this information in is over in the gotvapes section.

Flour would probably work too....mix with water, nuke, stir....it's kinda like craft paste back in kindergarten :)

It's not worth the hassle. I refuse to walk around with another stack of items in my "vape kit". Teflon tape and a bag of flour... really??? *shakes head*

These Vortex cartos are crap.

I agree how the heck can they pass test when these problems are simple ones, why do i have to pay good money and have to make my own mod. Not to make it better just to make it work, it is not right.

I agree with the issues they have being a pain. However they vape better than anything I have tried to date. The concept is perfect however they do still need some modifications. I will only use them at home. I am not buying any more until the next run comes out with some of the issues fixed. And then I will buy one pack again to see what new issues need to be addressed. Eventually somebody will come across the perfect carto but these are definitely a step in the right direction.

Unfortunately, any wick based system is going to need to be user 'adjustable' or it's just not going to work for every juice.

If they seal these things up...no more leaks, but then you can't adjust them for your juice, or clean them...so It's a catch 22.

Agreed about the leaks but they can tweak that but the end cap almost just falls right out, that can be fixed easy just make tube longer and make the end cap go in more and the part that sticks out can be shorter no problem.
