I have played in it , laid in it, worked in it and ...... in it. Never gotten it. Figured I was immune to it. No, no ,no. Got it last year for the first time. Terrible stuff. Moral of the story. If you think your immune to it your probably not. Each plant is different.
Good to know cause so far I'm immune (and am counted on to remove it).

Yup. I've pulled it, worked in it, sat in it... no problems. But I've read often enough to know that don't count for nothin'. The next time can always be The time.

I also read where it will not spread to other parts of your body but I don't know if I believe that myself. I know it felt entirely to good when I scratched at it.

What gave me the longest relief was running hot water over it. As hot as I could stand. It itched like the devil when I was running the water over it but it felt so good. It would subside for an hour or so after doing so. To add, and or a hot compress.

I was always told to keep it as dry as possible. That is why calamine lotions are often used to relieve itch and dry it up at the source. I also used to use Dawn dish detergent to wash the infected area to remove any excess oils after first contact or if blisters popped.

I tried a bunch of remedies. I would run hot water over it and or a hot compress. then I would let it dry and put calamine lotion on it. I also used rubbing alcohol on it sometimes and it seemed to quell the itching also. Oh, and I took benedryl throughout the time I had it. This is what worked for me. The best defense is offense. If I know I have been in contact with it I wash it off wth soap and water immediately. I never want to get it again. It was miserable.

Did this include the usual "Stay on Revolution Blvd if you go to TJ." talk? Or was that just an ASW thing?

The Mythbusters proved that Vodka is effective too. They said to pour it on the affected site. I would imagine that drinking it is also useful. NOT for little man though.
