Very cool tip! I've tried everything, even the no shampoo wash. I just hated that... made me feel like I was walking around with dirty hair. Its a little better now, since I got this filter system for the shower that takes out all the chlorine and additives, but I'll definitely hunt for that conditioner. You recommend a brand, tinybells?

I like Pantene (curly, extra moisture type) for conditioner and Fructose Creme gel for a styler. But, as long as dimethicone is high up on the ingredients list it will help.

Oh, I'm so sorry! I'm mostly an orphan family wise, too. I've got my father back, but I lost him thru most of my childhood and adulthood, so he's a new addition. Sucks feeling unanchored in the world. And how wild that your experience mirrors the tribal traditions. And no, I don't think its weird, at all. Times I've felt the most happy and sort of 'in tune' with myself, that's sort of the mental picture I carry of how I should look. When I don't, I feel pretty off kilter, too.

I try and think how lucky I am.. my Great grandfather/grandfather/father/brother all died from drinking.
I drink wine like 4 times a year but have never had the urge to drink like they did.

And how lucky I am to have found my perfect mate of over 18 years and my perfect 7 year old daughter.

I miss "My" family but I gained another weird family via marriage. and my near lifelong friends I have.

I'll give them a whirl... I really tend to like creme gels. All I use now for stylers is infusium spray in conditioner, and quarter sized amount of a sort of silicone glossing liquid. But yeah, there are definitely days when I wish I had some actual styler in there. lol

Yeah, that is a blessing, indeed. And how wonderful that you created a family of your own. I'm sorta recently divorced (still feels pretty recent, but been like 2 years now), and that inlaw family is definitely something I miss, for sure.

Oh, and I am right there with you on avoiding the sins of the father. I had a parent who was an addict, and a bunch of cousins.... I have to be on sorta hardcore meds now for a pain disorder, and it freaks me out. Always getting yelled at that I'm not taking enough of them to do me much good by doctors. lol They say most people take too much of this stuff, and we can't cram em down your throat! But I definitely have that fear. Hard drugs freak me right the heck out. Family destroyers. And yeah, alcohol can be just as bad. Good for you for steering clear and keeping it to a celebratory once in a while thing.
