Has anyone tried this yet? I keep going to the site almost adding it to the cart, but I usually won't buy a thing without reading some reviews. The price is right, and it would be a good way to see if higher voltage is something I would like, but the key attraction would be, does the new Ego Mega DCC fire up without fiddling with the connection pin? I've got 20 of these cartos here and they are really awsome on my ego 900 but would like to try it at different volts. Not wild about having to be plugged in, but for 25 bucks it's something to consider.

Thanks for the info. I'm curious when the description says it will only work when plugged in. I was wondering if that just meant the VV capabilities or the unit as a whole? Seeing how the power cord looks hardwired into the unit, that might explain it. ??

It has no battery of its own, so it can only be used when plugged into USB.

I also have one enroute, and of course some time shortly after that, I'll have a full review posted here and on my site :)

Well that explains it, thanks! So it will work plugged into any USB, even my PS3 USB port? Which is always right in front of my face these days thanks to Netflix and Black Ops.

Ok, got my ego VV tonight but no joy. The batt connection is so far down that it will not fire off any of my 510 attys or cartos etc., is there a way to fix this? I measured with Fluke and it's out putting the correct voltages but the center pin/connecter is like an eight of an inch lower than it should be for 510. What to do?

if its pushed in, you can use a pin to raise it then it will be fine, use a pin or small tool to go on the side of the pin and raise it slightly on 2 sides so it lifts, then you shoul dbe good to go, i told the factory to keep an eye out for the pin.

That worked, thanks Chris. Didn't want to void the warrenty on this with tweaking it too much. HAHA hubby wanted to take it all apart...no way. Also you may tell the factory that the USB cap keeps sliding on and off travelling down the cord when you unplug it from a port. But, it's a handy little device and fires up my EMDCC just fine. I like it so far.

I just got mine today (the mail is SLOOOOOOW around here). Only used it a few minutes so far, but no build issues on mine. The cord cap is solidly affixed, the pin is in the right position. Also, I intentionally plugged this into a low power USB port and it seems to work just fine.

I'll play with it some more over the weekend and might have the full "Impressions" treatment published on Monday

The center post keeps slipping down on mine, guess I got a funky one but they are going to exchange it for me. 3.2 is not going to be used much but 4.2 provides a nice warm vape with the mega dccs. Every once in awhile the led will start flashing at me while depressed. I know that's not battery dead since it doesn't have a battery, so what would that mean?

What color it flashes? Blue? And then resets back to the lowest setting right?
