So... I've been using these clearomizers for two days now... and just noticed what seems to be mold in them?? Three refills on one, two refills on another...

One is filled with smilin special from V4L and the other is filled with puresmoker fire and ice.

What do you guys think? Should they have flecks of mold after such a short time?

Now this is an issue I haven't heard about. Could it be gunk you're seeing instead? Where exactly are you seeing this, inside the carto? On the threads?

Not trying to insult your intelligence, I'm sure you know what mold looks like..

In the filled chamber, presently trapped between the plastic and wick.

I know that the heat will turn the juice darker and the darker colored juice may be making it's way from the coil, out. Mine do this. I have about 6 XL CE2's that have been sitting on my desk for about a week and there is no mold or anything of the like in them.

I'm aware of the juice getting darker but one juice is yellow and the second is a light amber, and the flecks are a forestry green color.

Propylene Glycol is used as a mold inhibitor for many applications. This makes me doubt that mold is growing in the device. When I clean my atomizers, I get little black specs that come off the coil. I'm sure it's related to the coil in your fluxomizer.

Good to know. Thank you.

I just started using one today, and I could see what you might think was mold, my wick strings look moldy already after just a few hours of use... I think it's the "darkened" juice working its way down from the coil. Has a gray/greenish tint to it, and if I had not just filled these today, I would see how easy it would be to think it was mold. I keep reading about discoloration in the clear tanks, and when I was cleaning my solid tanks, the wicks would be really dark, almost burned looking until I washed them. Chances are you do not have mold in your tank. I can't be 100% sure, but after seeing mine change in just a few hours from brand new to gray/greenish color, I feel confident in saying that it's probably not.

Thats why I always try to remember to do a dry burn before using the RS cartomizers, whether they are CE2's, Clearomizers, Fluxomizers or whatever. Burns that bit of crap off the coil and makes a big difference to some cartos. Sometimes if I'm in a hurry like last night I didn't do it and the difference between it and the other one I'm using at the moment is amazing. I actually felt embarrassed using the 'real good' one in public last night as the vapour production is outrageous. It defies logic. I'm using V4L Menthol and if I take a 2 second cigarette style drag it takes a god 6 to 7 seconds to exhale the vapour. It just keeps coming. I actually have to take a breath in between to complete the exhale of vapour.

I was in a beer garden and it is a designated smoking area at this particular pub, and I was at a birthday party BBQ being held there. I moved away from the crowd and fogged out the whole smoking area. Three guys smoking analogs gave me a funny look and stubbed out their smokes and went back inside. I couldn't help but think it was a case of 'mines bigger than yours' lol :)

After fooling around with various clearies I have decided that I do NOT want to see what's going on inside my cartos. I said to the last one just before it burnt up in a foul little cloud of smoke (that was the Fluxomizer), "Gee, thanks for sharing..."

Yeah, I'm giving up on them. Using IkenVape v2 carto's w/ drip tip and running strrrrong.

I love, love, love my Fluxomizers. After I clean them by pulling off the tube and rinsing well in hot tap water, followed by a drenching in PGA so they'll dry faster, I do a dry burn to get rid of the gunk on the coil. These babies just keep on going. Super clean flavor and clouds of vapor. I've had much better success with the Fluxomizers than I had with "regular" E2's.

Just my :2c: :2cool:

I was using Fluxomizers, but when I would go to clean them one of the wires would rip off the metal post at the battery side of it. I actually have a few left that I'm going to use as a single use [emergency situation] application and then be done with them completely.
