Hello everyone. Just got back from a trip to Albuquerque. Detoured to Houston for a day to see Queen Extravaganza - great show, mucho fun, go see if you have a chance.

I see I missed a lot around the gotvapes forum, as always. Caught up a bit, enough to see the new vivi nova anyway, and finally ordered one. The metal tube part got me. But I don't have time to read the looooong threads.

So I'm looking for some help from you guys. I really want it to work easily for me, don't want it to join other tanks in the drawer. I use from about 50-70% VG juices (rest is PG). What do I need to know?

I don't really think you need to know anything much... It works right out of the box even with straight VG like Boba's. For most folks, the flavor and wicking is better if you cut the wicks to the walls of the tank, like the Stardust. But try them long first - if you are not quite happy, cut them. Or do two heads for comparison.

This version works really well.

Thanks guys - I do have high hopes for the vivi.

I did read a lot about messing with the wicks for the previous version anyway - trimming them, and also something about a mysterious loose wick that people were removing. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that mine works great right out the box. Otherwise, I'll be back!

Did I see something about needing to clean the vivi before use?

Yeah, cleaning it is probably a good idea. Someone found some little bits and pieces in it or something...

There are no loose wicks in this one, thankfully. :D

Thanks guys - I do have high hopes for the vivi.

To be honest, I did a V2.5 2.4Ω head with regular wicks, then trimmed it back and didn't notice a significant difference. I started a V2.5 2.8Ω head yesterday and didn't trim the wicks... loving it as is. Best to experiment I'd say. Yeah, the loose wick was a V1 anomaly... haven't seen it in the V2.5.

Just got some Phoenix BC and TC in yesterday. The BC have turned my wife into a carto lover! The one thing I found out is to read the directions :) The BC fill upside down the TC don't. Lesson learned. But my wife and I are GotVapes Phoenix converts still will use attys to try liquids but our daily vape will be these BCs (until the tank comes out next week)

Yeah, I used them too until they started leaking.

Totally my fault. I had a hard time finding the tiny fill hole, so was forcing a bigger needle through it. Bad idea. Apparently that can break the seal in the phoenix, and cause leaks. Makes sense to me, but also makes it hard for me to use them.

But I love the price, taste and ease of cleaning.

Still enjoying the vivi. Borrowed a fat mod off my son to put it on so I can stand it up on the counter and always know where it is. LOL. Always misplacing my egos. Got a Bolt on order, cheap.

It's become my other favorite tank, along with the stardust.

The phoenix was great, but just not for these older eyes. See post above.

Edit: Anyone know if/how I can edit my first post to include the vivi?

Has anybody checked out the stardusts with replaceable heads yet?

Easy to disassemble/reassemble, better flavor than V1, and even nicer looking I think. I used 5 fills on a 2.8Ω (long wick) head at 3V and switched juices each time… the only problem was that the Hush flavor just wouldn’t leave and I had to change the head. This version is working great!

They are working great, absolutely.

About flavor, though - for me, personally, of course: Flavor is exactly the same as the ViVi. And it is some stronger than the regular Stardust. At least with short wicks. I tried long ones, finally, and had no luck - poor wicking, actually, and muted flavor. Maybe it was just that one head, but I'm cutting them from now on. But better? Mmmmm... Not for me. Very good, yes. Better than regular Stardust, no. Again, IMHO. :)

I don't know if anyone uses these juices, but they were my test case:

Pudding Cake from Altsig - it has a very creamy flavor in a regular Stardust, but acquires a strange, almost bitter sharpishness in the modular one and the Vivi.

Berry Shangri-La from Ahlusion (my all time favorite): it's complex, with berries, coconut and tea creating a very balanced presentation, but loses that complexity, ending up with just very sharp berries and only one, also sharp, mid-note from tea.

Both of these, while my favorites in a regular Stardust, become something I don't want to vape at all in the modular one, or the ViVi...

Lots of juices are excellent in both though, if a bit different. Chocolate-ish, RY4s, cookies, creme brulees - all those types work fantastically. Most mid-range tobaccos, too, I would imagine. Not sure about fruits, yet - some seem excellent, and some lose depth.

A couple of quick vivi tips:

1) Be careful unscrewing the tank from your PV. Yep, twice now, I've absent mindedly unscrewed the bottom of the tank - damn. With my husband's expensive juice no less, not my cheap DIY. I've fixed that by lubricating the threads on my PV.

2) Also be careful unscrewing the top. Also twice now, the tank has refused to fire after I refilled it. Discovered that the top of the removable head sometimes 'sticks' to the lid and turns enough to break the connection.

I bought 2 each Vivi Nova v2.5 and within 48 hours bought 3 more.
I like them
The only fidlin' is to fill them and replace an atty head if you want or need to.
Everything but the drip tip screws together.
My wife uses hers on an eGo w/ a 2.3 ohm atty head
I use a 2.8 ohm atty head on a Vmax at 4 volts
Flavor is a bit muted.
No dry hits, seems to use a bit more liquid than an eGo Tank.

There is suppose to be a Stardust that uses the same set up.
I have not found that yet.

Pretty much going to stay with the Vivi Nova.

YMMV
Lonnie

I am torn about the vivi nova. I told myself to just stick to the stardusts and pheonix (what is the plural of phoenix - phoenices?), but I am sorely tempted. I have waited for a metal carto for a loooong time, always been a bit nervous about liquids stored in plastic.

I'd like to wait until the early adopters begin to post about the vivi nova. On the other hand, I may just break down and order one when the metal tubes come in stock!
