I primed it. Seems better. It's blowing clouds with a pretty high PG juice. Gonna take it to lunch...
Okay, vaping on the raven for a little while now with a pretty thing juice and I'm getting nothing but dry hits. If I draw on it a bit forcefully without hitting the fire button it'll do okay for a couple hits. But then it goes dry again. I've only seen bubbles come out when I do the priming draws. Not during normal vaping.
I'm hoping it's just the carto it came with; but I only have two others as spare.
At first I thought maybe it was excess primer. I only dry burned it twice. That's all I've had to do with the other Phoenix's. But it should have burned off by now. Plus, these are those painful kind of dry hits. Not just bad tasting ones. it IS producing a large amount of vapor. So, I'm a bit stumped. The silver bullet I've got it on is kicked and the wattage is set pretty low. Like 6.5-7watts.
The draw on it seems to be between the PHOENIX XL BCs and the PHOENIX 3ml Tank.
I'm going to fiddle with it and see what I can come up with.

Okay, I replaced the Carto. Put the old one in time-out for now. Dry burned the hell out of this one. It actually produced quite a bit of vapor in the dry burn that I had to keep blowing out to keep an eye on the coil. Filled it up with the same juice as before. I didn't have enough of my home made RY4 so it's Desert Joe. I gave it a couple draws without the fire button and I primed it with two drops down the center. It did okay for 5-6 hits then that metallic dry burn taste started creeping in. So, I switched from the Silver Bullet to a twist. Same thing. Dialed the twist all the way down to 3.2V and got the same result. Dryish hits. Not as bad as the first carto but not pleasant. If I let it sit for a minute My first hit will be okay then it's dry again.
In both cartos the flavor is very muted. Cartos are supposed to be 2.4-2.6Ω variety. One is metering out at 2.6Ω the other 2.8Ω
If anyone has any ideas that I haven't thought of I'd be happy to try it. I don't want to give up on it!

Maybe make the hole a bit bigger? Unless the wick at the bottom is pinched or isnt horizontal like what happenes in the phoenix bottom coils
Well, seeing as how Danno said there was too much surface tension for their new filler funnels to work with the Ravens, my guess would be that you're dealing with a vacuum issue. Try only filling the tank halfway and see if you still get dry hits. I look forward to testing that with mine tomorrow.
The sleeve is pretty tight. I couldn't wiggle it to make the holes bigger. I was using my hands though because I don't have a battery with a 510 connected that I wouldn't mind if I messed it up. I didn't see any visible wick looking in the holes of either carto. So, it could be a wicking issue. I'll have to break out the pliers and try to back the sleeve off later.
For now I've had to step out to take my daughter to the library so she doesn't spend her allowance on late fees. I brought my vivi nova with me.
It's not really possible to fill it completely. The top quarter is an air pocket. I'll try emptying it a bit.
Empty it a bit and I bet it will at least have fewer dry hits. I experienced that with my Phoenix BC cartos in the past. After I'd get about 1/3 down, they would vape beautifully, but when completely full, I'd have to pump it til bubbles rose from the bottom.
I get the 5ml tank and 5 ravens either tomorrow or Friday, I hope all this waiting and $29 was worth it...

The car we're replacing is 18 years old. This one's only 10, which is huge to me 
My mom and uncle run a used car dealership and I'm getting this thing at auction price: $2500 when it's blue book value is $5k. The beautiful part is that she's set it up so I'm only paying interest every month with the full payment due when we get our income taxes next year. So, $80/month. I'm just thrilled! My current little sedan has no air conditioning and the driver's side window doesn't roll down so I can't even get a cross breeze. It's horrific!

i am not liking what I hear Penquin, I had such high hopes for this. If you are having problems, then my vg probably has no hope.

I'm still at the library so I can't rematch the videos; but thinking back, didn't Dan and Lord Davon both show that there was a Phoenix style seal plug at the top of their cartos?
