I wonder if they need to be cleaned before using like the phoenix bc's. I found if I didn't clean them first they taste terrible.

I looked at the vids for you...yes they have a seal at the top like the regular phoenix with a center tube...sound like that might be the problem with yours.
Ruh roh... Need my ravens, i ordered them under the pretext of getting them to replace my wife's DCC but we all know ill be the one playing with them. Maybe i can replace a regular phoenix bc tube with a tube from one these and throw it in a tank... So many possibilities. If i had more money to throw at danno and bad i would try to get into alpha but my wife thinks i spend too much already...

Juice is very thin. Wicks are inaccessible. None of the wick is even visible looking in the juice feed hole.

These are defiately not like that. You could use these that I have as dripping atomizers. In fact, that's pretty much what I was doing when I primed it earlier. I came home instead of going back to the office where the Raven is. The one that came installed and the one I opened to replace the preinstalled were just hollow tubes. I didn't look that closely at the third that I have. If I get a chance to swing by the office tonight I'll inspect it. Otherwise it'll be tomorrow morning.
My Phoenix BCs never needed to really be cleaned just a couple dry burns and they were good.

As far as cartos I was all FluXomizer until the stardusts arrived, then mainly the Stardusts, and now for past week exclusively the SMOK Titan...

I had a carto later in which I experienced a bit of what Solemn Penguin is experiencing. Others worked great. Went on SKype for vid with manufacturer after first day and we're pretty happy but they are looking to see if they can make them more consistent by enlarging the hole in bottom a tad.
For me, as far as draw they are close to Stardust for me but maybe just a tad tighter, not by much. You also may want to start your VV's on lowest setting then work up a bit.
Yes on the video I was demoing about priming and as I was a few drops went in, wasn't really intended since I had already primed it so I got a bit of gurgle.
