I never actually saw it here matcas but I will remind them, they KNOW we never want primer. They had also sent us some Phoenix 3ml with primer and we are actually sending them back, they apologized, they said it was meant for another vendor and it got mixed in ours.

Thanks Dannoman you guys have been totally upstanding in this whole situation. On a side not whats up with the primer is it really necessary it tastes horrible we all ad juice to prime our tanks. My ravens were dripping in it.

Danno,

I noticed you mentioned working 20 hour days for the past few weeks. With that kind of work load why not hire a min. wage employee to come in and help out, at least to do the packing/shipping of orders. Receipt, boxing and sorting of new shipments to GV and any other tasks you choose to pass on.

Hell I bet there is someone on ECF that would come in to work part time just in exchange for product. I would..... but NY to TX would be one hell of a commute. But if I had one of the E2 10ml tanks maybe I could make it with out having to refill... hmmm.....

I tried this as well but got constant flooding. I had taken a dcc carto apart and lined up the hole with the wicks. The hole was actually above the wicks though, maybe if the wick was actually plugging the hole... Hmm

This is working well so far. The slot in the carto basically opens it up to the tank reservoir, without altering the pressure of the system in any way that I can tell. It's similar to the xl in performance, except my wicks and coil are so degraded and it was my last xl coil, but no different than it was performing in it's plastic xl tube before the modding.

Thanks for the suggestion! We actually do have two helpers working part time : )...well one is more full time. On shipping I CLOSELY oversee and actually do ALL packing to make sure for accuracy etc, I then pass down the line where the packaging is completed...possibly as they get more used to it I can trust to actually read the invoice and put the right product inside. To them, the phoenix 808 and 510 looks nearly identical in every respect, for example.

Since you are such a gentleman, Danno.....may I make another suggestion? With such a large number of refunds going to the credit card companies, your discount rate may be affected (go up). A quick call to your rep to explain that the problem was with the supplier may save you some $$ on discount rate down the road. Just sayin'....this can get expensive in cost of money. You don't need to concern yourself with a reply...it's really none of my business. I'm a former bean counter and sometimes people don't think about the repercussions from financial fiascoes! Have a great day!

Got my ravens yesterday, but was too tired to play with them other than removing the cartos and soaking in vodka to get rid of the primer that was all over them. Checked out the spare cartos I had ordered and only one had the inner tube positioned so that the hole was nearly closed on one side and partially open on the other.
Got brave enough to fill one today. First 6 toots were nice, then....................nasty, acrid, dry. Took it off and let it set for about an hour. 3 or 4 drags and I'm right back to ugh!! Blowing into it doesn't seem to help. They're sooo pretty, it's a real shame they messed up on the manufacture of these.
Peeling the wrapper off of one of my stallions and going to punch a hole in it so I can use the tanks until we get the raven as it was intended to be.

Whats everyone complaining about, mine works great, good vapor at 4v, good flavor...? I kid i kid,*duck*

ok heres what i did to make mine work very well. Ill post an update tonight.

First make sure the holes/slots are lined up with the wicks, mine werent. I used two pair of pliers to twist, and a 510 adapter so i wouldnt mess up the threads.

Took the top seal of a fluxo/phoenix TC and a air tube from a BC. Put the seal so the smooth side is down nd pushed it all the way down with the air tube. Air tube will stick out of the tube.

Grabbed the RUBBER drip tip and pushed down over the air tube and into the carto tube, it will seat all the way down.

Pulled the Drip tip with air tube attached out, inserted the carto ino 3.5 ml tank, filled tank.

Took a couple of unpowered drgs to test, air bubbles! No leaking either so far.

Vaped. At first i still had water in the wicks from washing and despite my dry burning. Now vapes fine, little bit of a tight draw though.

Yep, I don't have any of those cartos for parts. I'm SOL.

Sig goes: Mwaah!

If you haven't seen it yet, Dan is going to be issuing a refund to all raven purchasers and they're working to get the manufacturer to deliver what they were supposed to in the first place.

Btw i completely destroyed one raven trying to get the tube off... Ended up ripping it in pieces to get down to the bottom.

The atty has a ring that pops on top similar to the way the air tube oes on the phoenix BC, but the BC air tube wont fit in it, i tried VERY hard, lots of swearing was heard...

The coils are tightly wrapped with no spaces in between, and the coil is also pulled down to the bottom of the ceramic cup, also pulling the wicks down and out of position.

Update, im using one of the 2.8ohm ravens at 4v. Been chain vaping it, not inhaling cause the juice is not so good, and have gone through about a half tank, 3.5ml tank, with zero dry hits and doesnt seem like any flooding. The flavor is good and the vape isnt as cool as the Phoenix BC.

Ill keep updating unless someone says to stop.

Im assuming these are press fit in. If you dont mind dinging up the flange and putting some nicks in the tube you can use a set of vice grips and pliers to twist the tube off.

Did better than that, built a wood jig to hold the the carto tube in place without bending it. Put the jig in a vice and used some tubing just small enough to fit inside the tube and punched it out without dinging anything.

Was surprised to see how small the wick hole is. It is less than half the size of the oblong slot you can see through the tube window.

At this point I'm getting ready to drill the opening to the size of the oblong slot in the inner tube which will more than double the wick hole size.

Have done some sanding on the coil tube so the outer tube will slide on and off and hope to come up with an adjustable opening for the coil feed slot by rotating the outer tube increasing or decreasing the size of the hole to the coil.

If it works I'll see about getting some pictures posted though I don't know how to do that part like some of the professional looking pictures GotVapes puts up. Do have the camera, just not the posting knowledge. :)

Since this thread is so long and seems to be about everything including out of the box experiences, finger pointing, encouragement to the GV team (We're with you guys!) etc.

I thought I'd make a thread just for our modding attempts to get the raven working. If you guys don't mind can we post our mod attempts here http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/gotvapes/326723-phoenx-raven-modding.html.

That way any one looking for fixes doesn't have to wade through everything else and those looking to provide out of box feed back can do so here.

Actually I did contact them to make sure we wouldn't take a hit and they advised us a credit card refund was best but it was best to stagger. But thanks, I actually was thinking along these same lines.
