Actually this was a long time ago, when he had the test unit and was saying it was incredible. He said he was going to post a video of himself go through a full tank. It was to be shown then. I kind of thought something was amiss when he was so loving it then went dark for a while about it. Then the delays and now we are here.

Probably a good thing he didn't do it he would be dead from the dry hits minutes after he finished the tank nevermind dying from old age trying to finish the tank.. I love the way Dan, Chris and GV as a whole is handling it(Dan is going to have alot of sleepless nights) I hope you get rest man. The only person that is "losing out" is the company that made them they no long have the full backing of gv and their customers we will never fully trust their new products or any reorder of them. As for me I got a free tank and a dead carto to play with. I will not get a refund because I did not pay for anything. Thanks me1969 again for your kindness. There is nothing to refund it was a gift. With that being said I can't wait to be able to put in my next order with gv. Sorry if this is scattered and unreadable my brain is fried and my heart broken with disappointment.

Haven't tried mine yet due to packing, and serious back pain, just haven't felt like trying to get all the primer off today. It is soaked in the stuff like some others. I will check it out and let y'all know for feedback purposes in the next day or so.

I did hit the jackpot though.......I got 3 pieces of Taffy!!! They know to give the fat woman the candy! lol

GV store credit would have been better for me, but CC is fine too since that's easiest for y'all. I do appreciate the way y'all take care of issues that come up. I too am absolutely flabbergasted that the chinese just completely changed this without tellin y'all what they were doing. You knew they were tweaking, but I'm certain y'all didn't expect a complete design change!! They gonna find out that Americans don't up with that crap. We dump the chit in the ocean!!! lol

I was so hoping that this would finally be my vaping nirvana, and still have high hopes that at some point we'll get something wonderful that truly is a non filler type bc carto/tank.

My phone/internet has been sporadic these last couple days, so I just caught up. I knew at some point that the penguins would figure out that Leopard seals at least do tend to eat them. (not all seal species though). And I knew at some point someone would do the "nevermore" I can't say nevermore though, cuz if they come out with something like what this was supposed to be, I'd love to try it. I dunno Mogi....for me, I think everyone is allowed a mistake or 2...it's how they handle it after the fact that will determine the trust issue. As long as they make good with GV and correct their faux pas and bring out the product as expected, I will continue to be happy with them. They did a great job with the regular Phoenix line

As long as they make good with GV and correct their faux pas and bring out the product as expected, I will continue to be happy with them. They did a great job with the regular Phoenix line

and the next time there is a revision to the phoenix line, tell me truthfully that the raven fallout will not be in the back of your mind, even if for a second when you press that button to add to cart

As a summary as well as a followup... and a comparison

I didn't get my Raven's until today... so much of what I experienced had already been reported by others. I still felt that more reports by others, including myself, should follow so whatever info is reported can be hopefully used to improve the product either on an older design or to move this design forward and correct what deficiencies it has.

First an observation about the now missing tube and seal... The Phoenix XL has these for a reason, it's to separate the coil area from the juice so it doesn't flood and the seal is there to keep the juice from leaking out the top or down the tube. On the Raven carto's, I notice that the juice never reaches high enough within the carto tube to cause flooding nor is there enough juice ( in my one carto that I tested ) to run out the mouthpiece. So it appears that the original reasons for the inner tube and seal within the carto don't exist for those two reasons.

Having said that... WallyO brought up another influence that the inner tube would have, that is to increase the force of the vacuum when taking a drag. This does make me wonder a little if this isn't a contributing factor to many of us getting dry or harsh hits.

On another direction... I got some of the first batch of Phoenix XL's and in all 5 I had ( unlike many others ) similar if not worse dry hits which caused me to put them down and move on. After the first reports on the Raven's started coming in, I was seeing a lot of similarities to what I had on the XL's. I also had recalled that later, after I had put the XL's down, that many found that the coils were pushed down and that by raising them... and thinning the wicks a bit... they started working good to great. So I got my XL's back out, cleaned and dry burned one... raised the coil ( I'd already thinned out the wicks previously )... and lo and behold it started vaping great. I haven't tried to do the same with the Raven carto yet... but it is a thought to consider trying IF someone can get the outer tube off without destroying it all.

I was able to finish a tankful in the 3.5ml Raven... I had to use the suggestion from BonnyC to blow into it frequently in order to avoid getting dry hits. Alternately I could let it set for some time and vape around 4-5 hits before it would start to taste like a dry hit was coming on. After getting home, I cleaned and dry burned the carto and refilled... it continued to act the same. I did attempt to lift the coil but couldn't see well enough and I didn't want to pull it up too far.


When these work... the flavor is great... they are just a bit of a pain having to always blow back into them in order to avoid starting to get dry hits.

For what it's worth, I'm on my 3rd tank and I actually like these a lot when they work. Blowing into it from time to time is annoying and I wish I didn't have to do it. But I'll do it because I have it and it's good though slightly tedious. I'm not really hugely inconvenienced by having to puff into it here and there. I equate it to having to tilt and twirl other cartos as far as inconvenience goes.

Also noticed that you have to blow harder/more when the tank is fuller. Like halfway and higher. After that, it takes less and less.

ckone, you keep bringing up statements that were made BEFORE the factory decided to change the design without notifying GotVapes about it. What POINT are you trying to make??? Dan already said that everyone that purchased Ravens were going to get a refund, so I'm not sure why you keep trying to beat a dead horse. If you are trying to carry out some kind of "Down with GotVapes" agenda, you're starting to make a fool of yourself.

and that is what I meant by the company losing. No matter how good they get we will alway remember the ravens in the back of our mind we will always have that quick thought when buying their items. We can forgive mistakes I try my best to forgive any and everything, but who is going to forget this? This was an epic item with deserved epic hype did epic sales and then the company that MADE these failed. You could say it was on purpose but what I think really happened is in the rush to get them out they forgot the tubes and seals and didn't realize it till it was too late. and to save face they are saying they are suppose to be like that.

Oh the irony. Would you believe I'd never even heard of a Phoenix, a Raven or a bottom coil carty before Tuesday night?
That's when I was watching SteelJan's youtube vid on the 'ego twist torture test' and I was so taken with her that I subscribed and then stumbled onto her review of the Phoenix BC Cartomizer. Well, "That looks pretty impessive", says I so I mosey on over to GotVapes and stumble onto the Phoenix Raven tank setup. Now, I love my tanks and single coil boges or 801 fusions but hey, this looks 'vedy intedesting indeed' so I placed my first order with GotVapes. There were only 6 replacement cartys left when I placed my order.

So here I am trying to ride the leading, cutting edge wave of vaping technology...

then I find this thread and fall off the surfboard. The Vapor Gods must really be having a good laugh at my expense. I actually ran my 1000mah ego twist dead while vaping and reading through this thread and what did I learn?

That Dan is a stand up bloke and (to use an old Army expression), I don't have to look down at his boots to know he's squared-away.

So Dan, no problem mate. I will just use my refund to purchase a GC from GotVapes and then use it to purchase the original design cartos when they get it all straightened out. Look at the bright side, you'll probably gain a few more new customers like me due to the way you've handled this fiasco.
