My Lovely LUX - had a Shower!

Well, it is 2.5 months now since I received my Lux... and it was put into some use indeed. Thus, today morning I thought why not give this beauty a shower... it was about time, wasn't it?

No Polish used, just deep cleaned with common stuff from the kitchen...

Washed and scrubbed it with Dish Detergent and Scotch Brite. Then kept it dipped it in a warm solution of salt & Vinegar for 10-15 minutes...

Made a paste of equal parts of salt & Wheat Flour with some Vinegar...

Rubbed the Lux with that paste, all the time rotating it in its horizontal plane, for about 10-15 minutes...

Washed it under running water, dabbed it with paper towel and...

Rubbed it enough with some Mothers Microfiber Cloth...

It came out with a nice 'brushed' look...

I'm avoiding using compound polish for as long as I can b'coz I feel it's sheen stays longer without its use. And once touched with polish - it'd need it's frequent use - else it'd look drab IMHO.

Just got my Paps LUX 2.5 yesterday and just love the build. Only thing I am sad about is I didn't get a 18500 tube as now they are all sold out :( This thing is tiny in 18350 mod for sure.

Congrats on ur purchase! Yep, it's the tiniest of them all... in this one thing small is gr8 indeed :)

How much of a difference does the lux gold plated contacts do compared to the ones the ss have?

Brand new... None at all. The only advantage the gold plating gives is the fact that gold doesn't oxidize making it relatively maintenance free. Just give a good cleaning with soap and water from time to time. The bare brass, on the other hand, will oxidize (tarnish) over time. The thicker the layer of oxidization, the poorer the performance, which means you'll need to get in the habit of cleaning and polishing the brass contacts if you want to maintain optimal performance.

Thanks :) I think I've made up my mind. Getting the brushed ss come Monday :)

Im in for the SS on Monday as well ? Do they actually sell the Lux 18350 tube as a spare, see they only have 18500 & 18650 ? Anyone got any tips for ordering ? Read about site freezing during ordering process etc !

No modder sells the 18350 tube in spares, b'coz they are serialized.

Anyone know if the 23mm SnP tank hangs over the mod? Vapor art only has 23mm left and don't want to miss the chance....

i wanted the 23mm caps to cover the o-rings, but after a week of living with it, the reddish rings look really good to me, especially on a lux in 350 mode. something about the proportions are just right, especially with a brass shorty drip tip.

if you want, i'd be willing to temp-trade the 22 for 23mm rings just to try em out. i'm on the fence about spending another $60 on tank (even as nice as it is). PM me if you want to try it out.
