gp-ssr problem

Purchased a gpssr tank and have a problem. Was hoping to find a solution before I email them tomorrow. I received tank yesterday and the problem is that I can't draw air through it when it is on a pv, any pv. I looked at the 901 to 510 adapter and there are no air holes or a groove on the 510 side that screws onto my pv. My question is, do you think they gave me a battery charging type adapter? You know the one with no air holes or a groove?
